  • Dell Inspiron laptop, Windows Vista Factory restore problems :(

Hi, I'm a poster first. My computer knowledge is empowered moderate, so please cut me some slack! I hope someone can help me, I would be very happy.

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop computer and the operating system Windows Vista 32. I recently tried a factory restore. I wish that I would have looked at this site before I tried.

I finished the factory restore, but I think that I made a mistake. I have saved all the files except my music files, because I didn't think anything was important. I'm stoopied. Now, when I try to use my computer is a few things wrong with it.

1 there is no way to connect to or even to recognize a wireless network. I have one in my house who previously worked a lot with my computer. When I use windows to diagnose the problem: "this computer has an adapter installed and configured wireless device." If I click on the button that says "install wireless networking equipment and verify that the correct drivers are loaded. Up is a window "Solve driver problems" which is almost useless.

    2. when I try to run a program, for example already installed windows Mah Jong Titans, on the computer I get this message: "exceleration material is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow down the performance of the game. Good so my video card is not well configured. Now that I look, the resolution looks really different than before. Kind of a blur. I use my computer to run the music production software so I don't know that this is going to work.

    3. I have the DVD of re-installation of the operating system. I also have the CD of resources that contains all of the drivers (or other.) I can't load the drivers, or even knowing which ones I should install.

I guess that I just want to know what I do to recover my computer at 100%. I hope that my problem is not too broad or too specific, but I hope some feeling there out a pain and can help out me.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

    -nick

OK, the factory restore (takes 10 minutes) is less work because everything is done and you do not have to load drivers or utilities. In any case, it is easy to do and you have all that on the drivers and utilities CD. There might be a few steps on the CD, but you can download Dell. Once you have reinstalled Windows back post and I'll tell you the order in which to load your drivers. To do this: equip your Windows DVD. Everything that comes close to her. Restart the computer. As soon as you see the Logo Dell press F12. You will see the start page. Select your drive (should already be highlighted) and press ENTER. Press a key, install now, accept licenses, instructions are not always the same for each computer, depends on your configuration. Take your time, follow the instructions carefully. You must delete all data from your hard drive (C :) and the NTFS file system format. Also delete (D :), it's where is the factory restore.) You can post back if you arrive at a page (just stop there and wait for my reply) you don't understand.

  • Why my Dell Inspiron laptop does not recognize my charger?

    Hello

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 and I have never changed or got a new charger, but now, for some reason, whenever I turn on my laptop, I get an error message saying that it cannot identify the power of my charger and therefore will be not my laptop. I tried different outlets, the whole and I even run diagnostics on my computer as he recommended, and he finds no problems.
Is there something I can do that wouldn't force me to buy a new charger?

It seems like the problem of material, to support more specialized on this issue, please contact your computer manufacturer.

    If anyone can help?

    Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: (don't forget to update the BIOS and)
    Dell chipset drivers)

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, this leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who will be generally
be older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it)
and then go look for new ones manually if you wish.

  • Web cam the cam on my computer dell inspiron

I'm trying to find my webcam that came with my laptop.  I used a long time ago, but I can't seem to find now.

    Hello jimminne,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forums.

Have you checked the Dell website for a manual for your model to help you troubleshoot your webcam?
Using the Dell Webcam drive, install or reinstall the Dell Webcam application. A damaged or outdated Webcam driver can cause the webcam to not turn on.
Visit the Dell drivers and downloads site Web and enter your Service tag to get the updates specific to your computer, or you can enter your computer model
and look for the support page for driver downloads.

    I hope this helps.

  • Dell v305 printer cannot communicate with the dell inspiron laptop

My dell v305 won't print when asked by my computor.  He does not communicate.  I tried all of the troubleshooting techniques, System Restore, computor reboot and everything I can do, but nothing works.  The printer will print on its own, but does not print when you are prompted to do so by my laptop. I disconnected and then reconnected all wires repeatedly.

    ThomasKnightZH,

Try to check your anti-virus program and firewall. They seem to block communications.

What version of Windows are you using?

The printer using the usb cable or the wireless adapter?

If wireless is your router wireless using these recommended wireless router settings, I use channel 11.

  • Office 2010 is preinstalled on Dell Inspiron laptop computer and does not now update

I don't know why but I have 19 updates for Office 2010 by train, every day, to settle and I get error messages. This has happened for months. Microsoft support, they tell me to use the Office product key but the software is preinstalled and I don't have a CD. I also have problems with what is called ' Microsoft Office single Image 2010 "that is installed and then, immediately cancel the installation.

At Microsoft telling me to come to Dell, because the software has been installed by your company. I don't know what to do and I probably spent hundreds of hours trying to find ways to work around this problem, repair the program or repair. I was not able to work on Office documents since January. Also, I try to use your support system, but the diagnostic tests never end! They can run for hours (and they are supposed to take 2-10 minutes) and they just keep whirring, never let me go forward in support seeking processes.

You can just give me the product key for Office 2010 software installed on my Inspiron N5010 running Windows 7? It's my fourth Dell computer but it has been so frustrating, it could be my last. The rest of my family has Mac and they don't seem to have any of these problems.

If you have Office 2010 preinstalled and he is not the Starter version, your key must be a map of MPI:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Office/Microsoft-product-identity-MPI-card/

However you can get it from Belarc Advisor as its already installed:

Links to download Office are given here:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Office/

If it was the Starter version, it is completely obsolete and replaced by WebApps:

  • How I have resett my window 7 computer dell Inspiron laptop

    fans of Hello

pls help me how I resett my laptop for setting I hv dell inspirion window 7 by default. pls guide me how to go about

    Hello

If the recovery partition does not work:

    1. make your own recovery disks:

    Dell:

    http://www.Dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/KCS/kcsarticles/ArticleView?docid=266282

    2 order recovery disks:

    Reference Dell USA:

    https://www.Dell.com/support/Diagnostics/us/en/19/nondiagnostichome

If in another country, contact the Support Dell technique in your country.

3 or download the correct ISO file and make your own drive and use the product key located on the COA sticker.

    http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-image-downloads.12325/page-2#post-124821

And here are instructions on how to burn ISO disk images:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/isorecorder.html

    Then do a clean install:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-Windows-7-a.html

The COA sticker is either or in the battery compartment on the underside of the laptop.

With a desktop computer, it's on the side, the back or the top of the computer case.

By using the downloaded ISO file method can require the Activation of phone.

If it does require phone activation, do not follow Demand of Auto, but brace yourself for a real person explain as to what has been done for purposes of re-setup

"How to activate Windows 7 by phone '

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/18715-activate-Windows-7-phone.html

The above method also requires that you go to your computer manufacturer's website > Support and downloads Section > locate your model number and operating system > then download and install the latest drivers for it.

  • have a new dell inspiron laptop. seems to me the battery runs down too fast.

battery does not last very long. maybe 10 minutes of operating time. Then says low battery.

10 minutes is certainly not long enough.  Since your laptop is new, it's under warranty so I would contact Dell or the one that you bought it from for a replacement battery.

    Good luck.

  • Once I turn on my dell inspiron laptop 1545 dell logo appears and then the screen goes black

Let me start by saying: I had similar problems before, but none of the usual works.  The other day, these two Windows Update kept popping up and wouldn't go away so I clicked finally allow.  Then the next day that I was on the internet and my computer froze, I tried to turn it off and it wouldn't if I pressed the power button until it did.  Then when I turned it back after the dell logo appeared all that I had a black screen with a cursor in the upper left.  I ran diagnostics and startup repair and nothing.  I tried to do the restore of the system once in couple with different points and nothing, I still get the black screen after dell logo.  Is there another way outside the reinstallation of the operating system, to fix (because I really don't want to lose everything I have on my computer - and no I don't save it anywhere)?

You can reinstall the OS without formatting the drive, all of your data in a folder named windows.old. You will need the Dell Windows Vista disc however.

    Follow my guide here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/w/microsoft_os/1434.aspx
Start with step 3. (require reinstalling Dell DVD). Skip step 5 continue on step 6 to step 7. Install Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 (autonomous probably 32-bit) and stand-alone Internet Explorer 9. You must download these in step 4 with the system drivers as described (probably, use another computer and use a USB drive). Install the drivers as mentioned system. Activation should be useless since you use the Dell DVD in a BIOs Dell. At the stage. 12 use the automated to retrieve documents from Windows.old. Make sure you have everything and then delete windows.old.
