  OK, the factory restore (takes 10 minutes) is less work because everything is done and you do not have to load drivers or utilities.   My dell v305 won't print when asked by my computor.  He does not communicate.  I tried all of the troubleshooting techniques, System Restore, computor reboot and everything I can do, but nothing works.  The printer will print on its own, but does not print when you are prompted to do so by my laptop. I disconnected and then reconnected all wires repeatedly.

  What version of Windows are you using?

  The printer using the usb cable or the wireless adapter?

  If wireless is your router wireless using these recommended wireless router settings, I use channel 11.

  I don't know why but I have 19 updates for Office 2010 by train, every day, to settle and I get error messages. This has happened for months. Microsoft support, they tell me to use the Office product key but the software is preinstalled and I don't have a CD.   Let me start by saying: I had similar problems before, but none of the usual works.  The other day, these two Windows Update kept popping up and wouldn't go away so I clicked finally allow.  Then the next day that I was on the internet and my computer froze, I tried to turn it off and it wouldn't if I pressed the power button until it did.  Then when I turned it back after the dell logo appeared all that I had a black screen with a cursor in the upper left.  I ran diagnostics and startup repair and nothing.  I tried to do the restore of the system once in couple with different points and nothing, I still get the black screen after dell logo.  Is there another way outside the reinstallation of the operating system, to fix (because I really don't want to lose everything I have on my computer - and no I don't save it anywhere)?
