    Hi himasagarkrishna,

It seems that Dell have not rolled on the latest drivers, still for the camera. The last driver update was on 08/12/2006

However, try to install the old driver in legacy mode.

If this does not work, you might have to contact Dell.

  • XPS M1530 laptop - video issues

I have a laptop Dell XPS M1530 and for the past week or so I started to have problems such as hardware and BSOD error messages when starting up. It was intermittent but now I can hear laptop start but screen is visually black. On repeated trials, it is sometimes upward (one on 7 or 8 trials). Looks like I have the video problem. I think that the video card is dying/dead.

When it came to the top, I checked the Device Manager and there was an icon of warning next to the Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT and it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)".

What is an integrated video card?

    What are my options?

    Thank you.

Dell does not support drivers for operating systems that were not available when the computer has been sold. You can use the Vista video drivers for most. You should have a Nvidia graphics chip, you can go to the Nvidia website and download the latest driver for Win 7.

I read something on the net about the Office 2007 updates causes this problem. I tried uninstalling the WIDCOMM software n put it back in place, but nothing seems to work. I'm running true n of Windows Office 2007. Pls help thanks!

    Hi Hellfire190,

Make sure that Windows is configured to accept incoming Bluetooth connections.

    Step 1
You can check the compatible devices Bluetooth configuration panel. Here's how:

    1. Click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and sound, and then click Bluetooth devices.
    2. Click the Options tab, select the allow the devices to connect to this computer check box, and then click OK.

If this step does not help, try the next step.

    Step 2

Remove and then reinstall the device:

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click Bluetooth devices.

2 Select the device that is not working, and then click Remove.

    3. click on Add, press the reset button on the unit (or make it discoverable following the manufacturer's instructions), check the box my device is set up and ready to be found and then click Next.

    4. If the device is not found, repeat the previous step. When the device is found, select it, and then click Next.

    5. follow the remaining instructions in the wizard.

    ·         Make sure that the device is on and that the batteries should be replaced.

    ·         Make sure that the Bluetooth adapter for your computer is attached and turned on, and that the device is in use and detectable. If you don't know how to turn on discoverability, read the instructions provided with the device or check the manufacturer's Web site.

  • Transfer of tapes CD directly into Dell XPS M1530

I have several family tapes I want to transfer directly into my Dell M1530 xps.  I plugged one end of the cable into the headphone jack of the audio cassette player and the other end in making portable computer microphone.  In the Panel, I put the default line.  But I can't get any sound from the speakers.  I have the software loaded on your laptop to sound recording Audacity, but when I try to record from cassette player I get an error message to check my input device.  The cassette player earphone Jack works very well, and the audio cable is a brand-new cable Mediabridge, so I'm pretty confident that they are not the problem.  Can someone help me get these tapes loaded on my laptop? Thank you.

The company is Sigmatel bankruptcy before 7 came out, then you just use the version of Vista but install in 7 using the Vista compatibility mode. Download the audio driver and extract the files (unzip or decompress and take note of the name of the folder created) but cancel the installation process. Go to the folder on the hard disk to which you have unpacked the driver files. Find the setup.exe file and right-click on it. Select Properties. Find the Compatibility tab and select Vista.

    -OR-

Some owners of XPS m1530 succeeded with the IDT R226903 audio driver which is a version 7. If you want to try it, download and unzip the files in c:\Dell\drivers\R226903 but cancel installation. Then go in for the audio controller device manager (under "sound, video and game controllers"). Right-click on it and choose Update driver. Select to manually locate the driver and let Windows not seek. Find c:\Dell\drivers\R226903, and then click "next".

  • XPS M1530 with new SSD will not identify adapter WLAN 1395

I just bought a new SSD 128 GB for my old workhorse XPS M1530, installed a clean VISTA Ultimate 32 bit OS since the original DVD supplied with the laptop.  Everything works except the wireless 1395 adapter.

I know that the material of the wifi card is good, because wifi still works when I put the old 64 GB SSD back in. I use the same version of WLAN driver on the new facility.  Device Manager indicates that the adapter is installed and working properly.  Yet the computer with the new SSD does not recognize that the wireless network adapter is installed and activated.

I use the WLAN driver and BIOS version recommended Support Dell for my service number.  These are the same versions that I have on the former SSDS.

I'm tempted to reformat the new SSD and start all over again, but that takes a lot of time to reinstall everything. And I wouldn't waste 10 GB on the new SSD to install the recovery partition on the new SSD which lies on the former SSDS and do a restore on the new SSD.  I have more certain supplied software preinstalled on your laptop.

    Gene

I made an another clean install of the operating system on the new SSD, and this time, I found and used the Drivers and Utilities of original disc that came with the laptop to install the DELL software system utility first.  That did the trick, because when I installed the drivers of that era, the WLAN 1395 works.

Now I have a space wasting a 22 Gb Windows.old directory, but I am happy.  I'm going to reformat the drive in the morning then it is plugged to my laptop in an external USB SATA drive enclosure and start with a clean car and redo the OS install again, this time properly.

It's a bit ironic that the DELL system software utility has not been showing available for my service on the support.dell.com site tag.

Lesson learned.  I'll post tomorrow how the last OS install goes on the SSD clean and new.

  • Dell XPS M1530 Windows reinstalled Vista, network driver does not

Hi, I had to replace the hard drive on my Dell XPS M1530 because of the complete failure of hard drive.

I installed Windows Vista and also installed all the drivers from Dell. All of them seem to work fine except the driver of Ethernet controller and wireless adapter one. I tried to download the drivers from Dell Web site, but who moved it - it comes up with this message: "the device could not be detected. Installation interrupted.

In other words, that I can't connect to the internet, so using computer for a friend right now. Is there a driver I can download to make it work?

Hi, thanks for all your suggestions. I tried to look at all the possibilities in terms of manually install the drivers, but nothing has worked.

So in the end I bought a USB key external wi - fi and with that, I managed to connect to the internet. Once connected, the laptop must have then auto-téléchargé the right driver for the internal modem, because a few days later, I managed to connect to the internet even without needing the key external wi - fi.

  • Failure of Toshiba web camera

So I had this recurring problem with my Web camera integrated, saying that the device is locked by a device. I turned the problem of evil and who came up with a different answer, saying that the device is not compatible. I would try other options before taking my computer geek team, ideas for this problem?

There are many applications that use a web camera. You can have Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, Skype etc as examples. If one or more of these programs are already functioning in the computer, it will have access to the web-camera. So if you try to run another application that uses the camera, you might get this message. And applications like Skype, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger, etc gets minimized in the system Notification area when you click on the X mark to close. So even if you think that you have closed these requests, in fact they can always clocked in the computer.

There are two things that can be done to check if this is the origin of the problem:

    1. you can kill the process related to the programs that may be using your web camera from the Windows Task Manager and then check the issue. Here is how to kill a process:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/end-a-process

    2. you can set the computer to boot and check the issue. Clean boot will start the computer keeping the disabled non-Windows programs. The link below describes the boot, I suggest to read entire article before performing the steps, because after troubleshooting, you probably want to the computer is back to normal startup again, which is also described in this article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

You also mentioned a message where some convenience store says that your device is not compatible with your operating system. I think you should contact Toshiba about this, rather than Geek Squad. You can have some driver or updates of the firmware available for your device, which, I believe, will be better known to the Geek Squad than Toshiba.

    I hope that helps!

  • XPS M1530 optical drive is more read

The optical drive on my XPS M1530 does not read discs - CD, DVD, records of program, etc.  I ran the diagnostics on the drive and he always tells me that the disc has no data on this subject - regardless of the type of disc that I load in the player, including the original diskettes that came with the laptop.  Any suggestions?

  • Clucking Sound of XPS M1530 hard drive

I tried to search for this problem in the forum and only stumbled on old posts, the most recent is somewhere in 2007. It seems that no agency is facing this problem in 2008.

I am facing this problem now with my new XPS M1530, which is less than 1 month old. He just started 4 days ago.

No error detected when I tested it. Even in safe mode for a few hours, it was not all his "cot". I have nothing in there that I can't do anything much in SafeMode in any case.

When I used it, it will come by surprise, no warning or anything. It came when he wanted to. That is why I cannot give you the exact scenario or anything which trigger.

I suspect it's from the hard disk, I contacted support and they ask me to continue to exercise oversight. Sigh...

Someone has an idea of what's going on with that? It seems no this problem for a long time, judging by this forum, I am facing this problem now.

Hope to hear something about this soon. Thank you.

  • Live web cams do not come up when selected sites

    Hi all
I am very new to Firefox, really impressed so far. However, when you visit www.seewinter.com, I should be able to display 'live webcams' but when I click on the link, the web cam look at a box does not appear. I was in the pop-up blocker and given permission, just in case this was the cause of the problem, but it still does not work.
I tried to go back to google and when I clicked on the link live webcams came instantly, clearly, I need to do something in firefox I do not know what.
