Intense black in images

A customer asked a question that seems strange about images-rich blacks. They want to be able to change blacks into an image which can be 80 80 80 100 to 30 30 30 100. My thought would be that they would just change the limit ink what printer recommended. They could also reduce the black value line, but to get their limits would be strange. Before you go back and give my opinion, I'd love to hear some printers to see if they have any other opinions. They do not seek to mix colors into InDesign.

The right way to do this is to use the color profile of the stock paper for the printer. CMYK for more intense blacks and possible flat on average and special paper numbers in their color profiles. This can be checked by converting a black pure RGB R = 0, G = 0, B = 0, to CMYK color different profiles.

So, it is advisable to create a RGB color space and in the end be converted to the destination. If you have already created an image in a CMYK color space and used colors CMYK values that my beyond media, you can use the destination color profile to correct this. Convert your image into a large RGB color space as ProPhoto and then convert back to the color CMYK destination profile. If this is impossible, the only option you have is to sample the colors in your image and correct Blacks with different tools as curves, selective correction, etc. image adjustment - according to the image, this can be a lot of work if it breaks the tonal balance with the rest of the image.

  • Convert image into intense Black

    Hello

I am trying to convert an image into intense Black with these settings: C40 M0 Y0 K100.
I wonder what the best way is to do this in Photoshop.

    Thank you very much.
    Alberto

I'd be willing to bet that the printer was referring to flat screens and not the halftone when he suggested 100K + 40 c. Two tones including C will mount a Cyan - the amount of distribution determined by the form d/max and the Cyan curve.

Because you are dealing with portraits and don't have no control over the choice of the lithographer or the chance to talk with him, 4/C b & w can be risky. Change in the volume of minor local ink on the press can give you all sorts of variations in dominant color according to the tonal balance of separate plates (channels).

Unless you can talk to the lithographer, for more security, you pay for half-tone b & w systematic reproduction. It seems safer, even if it is disappointing.

  • How to achieve the intense black in PDF export?

InDesign CS5 on Snow Leopard. I have a black to display and output set accurately (not rich black). Color settings are in North America General Purpose 2. Evidence of configuration is set to Document CMYK U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2, so that I see on the screen as accurately as possible what it will look like when printed.

An image of large, to most black covers my first page; This is an imported PSD. When I view the image in PhotoShop, it displays as "intense Black" - you know, Black 100% on-screen. But looking into InDesign, it appears a dull gray. It also appears a dull gray when you export to PDF or print.

How to go to the PDF format and print in crisp, perfect, 100% black rich?

If possible, I would like it to appear on my screen about as it will be in the PDF export and the printed page.

    Thank you!

The preference for Rick Black, that's how it shows up only on RGB devices, monitor, or printers that support RGB.

For an intense black for a CMYK profile, you will need to build a new black and which apply to selection in InDesign.

The rich blacks are going to 50Cyan 100BlacK

    at 20 c, 20Y, 20 M, 100 K = 160 (20 + 20 + 20 + 100)

    40, 0, 40, 100 is 180

where equals is the limit of the ink to the paper.

Depending on what paper you're printing on, coated or not coated, and weight, you'd have different limits. 280 is generally good.

For example, you might have an intense Black of C90 M90 Y0 K100 = 280

Please contact your printer what ink should be built and what is your limit of ink.

If you have a text hit out of the black then you probably want to keep C 50 and 100 K, because it would be easier to keep the registry text.

  • What 'intense Black' I use?

If I set my prefs 'Exit all blacks as rich black' what is the distribution of this black CMYK? I usually do my own black intense, based on what type of printing, I do (and the pref out with precision the value), but I was just curious as to what that I use and why.

    Cheryl,

Back to your question, Rich Black parameters AI do not affect your output at all. What I mean is that they affect the way that they appear at the output to a printer laser or something like that and of course on your screen. If you put a cyan helper on your black people HERE who will honor and the rich black setting in your prefs will not change this aspect of your file. The setting is just a way of showing how black will only appear, a beautiful deep black or as it would have if it had been printed using black only it will show as a little lighter. It could make your black appear richer in your PDF documents as well, but I'm not certain of that. Will always be 100% K, they will see deeper on your thing, a bit of the screen. That is why in your prefs it only shows values in what will be an intense Black, because it only changes the appearance.

May be useful to read the explanation in your preference so Panel where is the rich black parameter.

    I hope this helps.

  • calculate pixel intensity in an image in black and white

    Hi all

First of all, im new to labview. Now, this question may have been asked before, but I'm not quite sure. OK, so I have an avi video that can be allocated by 50 images. I used imaq threshold and a loop for to put a threshold in each image, which makes them black and white. What I want to do is to calculate the percentage of area which is highlightened as white. I thought that I can do by calculating the total number of pixels that have an intensity of 1. I know the black pixels are 0 intensity and I also know the total number of pixels in each image. I tried to use the function to quantify but I couldn't get the desired effect. Then, I tried to use imaq light meter, but still I could not the exact number of pixels with an intensity of 1, only the mean value and the standard deviation of the pixel. I can probably calculate the area that is intense using these two values (mean, st.dev) and simple statistics, I think, but I need more detailed results. Is there a way to get the total number of pixels with intensity of 1 in a black and white setting? Sorry if this question has been asked before, I could not find that a related. Sorry for my bad English as well. Waiting for your answers.

    Thank you very much.

The problemwith gregoryj code is that it converts to a table of Boolean number, not a number, the value of this number depends strongly the position of values in the table that are True.

Once you have the array of pixels in the black and white image (all the values 1 or 0), just use Array Sum to get the number of 1.

  • Long black ImageView images

    Hi all

During testing, I noticed this long image (image with large height value) appear correctly, it shows just a black background. for example, for this image: http://ww2.sinaimg.cn/bmiddle/7bfc0806jw1e0yppgqzmfj.jpg, it does not display if you put in assets/images and try to display it in an ImageView. (I tried DevAlpha's last OS/SDK)

I think that it is a platform/sdk bug, someone has an idea? Is there a work around?

    Thank you

    Dong

ImageView cannot display more than 2048 x 2048 images.

You can try to load it in QImage and then copy only the visible part in ImageView.

  • Make a custom without black bars image format

I apologize if this has been posted before (I've not been able to find an answer).

I am creating a WebM which is not too large to display on my site as a background video. I tried a lot of methods to do this, always leading with black bars at the top and bottom of the video. I need to create a custom report so that it fits well on my site WITHOUT the black bars (I'm trying to create a flawless look). How can I do this?

I'm pretty new to Premiere Pro CC 2015, but I find these forums and the internet more for a solution but have not been able to find an answer. I know I should post parameters, etc. so that it will be easier to answer this question, but I don't know what anyone would need to know to help me.

    Hi Mtmullin,

If please check the properties of your video clip and check the size of the image.

In Premiere pro, create a new sequence (click File > New > sequence) and select the tab "settings".

Create a customized with exactly same size of image sequence.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thank you

  • HP Deskjet 1000 J110: Intense black print with the black ink cartridge only

    Hello

I am trying to print the darkest possible black, but simply by using the black ink cartridge. How do I get there?

My printer is HP deskjet 1000 J110 using cartridge HP 301.

I do my drawing in Adobe Illustrator and set the color to be CMYK 100 100 100 100.

If I insert only the black cartridge, the printer will leave empty place where color CMY ink should be or it will fill the space with black ink?

Basically, what I'm trying to do is to increase the density of ink to the highest possible but only using only the black cartridge.

    Thank you.

    Welcome @didididot,

Thanks to their participation in Forums of HP! I see by your post that you would like to be able to print in the black as dark as possible. I can help you.

You can use the mode single-cartridge:

Use single-cartridge in the HP printer with a single cartridge. Mode single-cartridge begins when an ink cartridge is removed from the distribution of the print cartridge. In the mode single-cartridge, the product can only printing from the computer.

Here is a document for printing with black ink only (Windows).

If you use a Mac, let me know.

I plugged a USB stick for labview using the IMAQdx. Initially, he would go, but would produce errors of time-out after 5 pictures. Now, I managed to get the cycle to run 50 times, but the picture only comes out as a black screen. What could be causing this and how can I fix?

I think his problem is resolved in this post:

Guess there is no problem with his camera connectivity. I would ask you to mark it as solved if your problem is solved F.N.

  • Black true conversion in intense black when importing a single specific PDF

I use InDesign CC. When you import a particular PDF CMYK file into my document, black text is the conversion of 4-color dark black. I have InDesign 5.0 on another computer. Following the same procedure on this computer, the text remains 100% K. My settings are the same, I can tell.

Other designers around the country using this same ad have no problem. The text remains 100% K. We're all using InDesign, but I'm the only one using InDesign CC.

I don't have this problem with all the other ads (so far), but I've been using CC for two months.

    Any ideas?

It should be in CMYK policy "Keep numbers", but take care that in the Joboptions, PDF this is not chosen a different strategy.

  • CS6 Premier Pro and intensity Black Magic Pro does not?

    Hello

I use the trial version of CS6 first pro. First the parameters of reading in the drop-down list next to the observer is gray out. Secondly, when I go into the read setting via the settings menu I don't see black magic as an option to send my signal to. Is this a limitation of the trial version?

I've updated everything and black magic works perfectly with my CS5 and Final Cut Pro... Clues?

    Hi Javier,

New Mercury pass Blackmagic plug-ins and other hardware partners are selected in a different way than the previous player plug-ins and earlier of CS5.5.  To put forward, go to the preferences in the reading area.  There, if plug-ins for your third-party hardware are installed correctly, you will see the Audio and Video Device device options.  Once you select the third-party material here, it can be used across projects and sequences.  If the plugin show provides a facility for more options dialog box, you will see a small upgrade option on the right side of the video peripheral option.

And of course, make sure that you have applied last CS6 updateand use the latest installer of Blackmagic for CS6.

    See you soon,.
