Internal display flicker, ghosts, black flashing

When you open the lid, the screen started "seers" black, I hear by then the screen will turn on and off, but when on, only show a black screen.  You can see what I mean here. When the internal display turns off, external displays for one second lag.

Sometimes, the internal display will show what is actually on the screen, but it will flicker severely and superimpose a ghost of the screen on to halfway to the bottom of the screen, visible here.  External poster work very well, although they tear sometimes for a millisecond or two.  The computer works fine, I just can't see what I'm doing.  I am posting this from the computer using an external monitor.

Steps than to attempt to resolve, I took:

-J' test to see if it's a problem that the operating system sees or simply the screen by making an entry using Quicktime screen, and no problem in the recorded video.

-Apple diagnostic test revealed no problems found (reference code: ADP000)

-Reinstall OS X several times

-Starts in Bootcamp, same problem with the internal display

My thought is that it's a bad display cable, the screen inverter or any other Apple diagnostic Test does not cover.  Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hello CAWeissen,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand your message that your MacBook Pro screen flashes only a black screen, but you can use external screens without problem. I know how much I use my Mac and using an external display is nice, but I do not always want to use a. You did a lot of great troubleshooting so far! An extra step that I would recommend would be to reset the NVRAM.

This article includes the steps to reset the NVRAM:

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac.

Reset the NVRAM

  1. Stop your Mac.
  2. Look for the following keys on the keyboard: command (⌘), Option, P, and R.
  3. Turn on your Mac.
  4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys, immediately after hearing the startup sound.
  5. Hold down these keys until the computer restarts and you hear the tone of starting for a second time.
  6. Release the keys.

Also, just in case it turns out to be a hardware problem, we want to ensure that there is a current backup of your computer information.  For more information and creating a backup, check out this article here:

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

Best regards

  • Display flicker of NVidia and crashed to a black screen on HP IQ500.UK after upgrade of Windows 8

I have a HP IQ500.UK OS computer original Vista 64 with GeForce 9300 M GS Driver version 174.62. Update of the operating system Windows 8 has replaced the driver NVIDIA version 9.18.13.0286, which is unstable for display, causing frequent display flicker every other second or so, sometimes not get back and goes to black screen. Reboot needed to recover and a phenomenon. The original driver can be deployed in windows 8? HP or Nvidia has a solution? Should I revert to original driver Vista 64?

Update: I have now the Nvidia driver works and have not had an accident in days. Here's what I did:

    1. You must stop Windows 8 tries to automatically update drivers every time it starts up because that's what's causing all the problems, to do follow this tutorial:
      http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/6cde20/automatically-updates-drivers-in-Windows-8/
    2. Then up to uninstall everything what you have loaded upward and loading the driver VGA Windows options base which is available under find it locally. Do all this in Device Manager
    3. Download the Windows 7 Nvidia driver on the HP support site - don't try Nvidia card who are not compatible
    4. Remove your ethernet cable and/or disable wireless - very important. You'll re-enable it after all this is over, but you do not want Windows to do something unexpected...
    5. Using 7-Zip or some other programs self-extracting unzip the exe that you downloaded. My memory was SP44488 or something like that (I'm at work sorry). Extract it to your desktop or something
    6. Go back into Device Manager, right click on the graphics card and select update or install drivers option.
    7. Select the manual installation option
    8. Select the diskette provided at the bottom of the screen and then go to your exe file extracted in step 4
    9. Windows will look for the name of the driver then install it from there. Your screen, wobbles a bit and you think that its going to crash but mine did not. It takes a while to load so be patient.
    10. Once loaded to reboot the machine. When it restarts it will likely screen black right now that even if you did mine has actually updated the driver to version 9, I think only the first step.
    11. Stop and try again and your father's brother Bob

I did the above and all my problems disappeared and I have the Nvidia drivers loaded. You'll see the pilot who caused all the problems turn upward in Windows Update as an optional download - INSTALLER DONT IT

Now, my PC is not the fans screaming as he did when the driver has been disabled and it is much more receptive.

    Hope this helps

    see you soon

  • Satellite L500: internal display is dead - external monitor is ok

    I haven't used my L500 for about 6 weeks
I tried to start it yesterday only to find "dead".

I charged the battery overnight and I tried again this morning to find that my screen does not work.
I plugged an external display that works, then I tried FN + F5 to switch between screens.

The pc now only works in safe mode

    Help

    Hello

It looks like a malfunction of the internal display.

If the external monitor works properly, then I guess the graphics chip is ok too.

In my opinion, there must be something wrong with the internal display.

    What do you think?

  • Internal display lines and window fading 2015 retina MBP

I have a MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inch, mid-2015) with AMD Radeon R9 M370X, bought in June 2015.

Today, the internal display started acting. All windows open on the screen started to fade and become a bit pixelated and fuzzy. The same thing would happen to the menu bar and image wallpaper immediately above and below each window, but not on the background image on the sides. Looks like someone has draped a net on, above and below any open window. The effect has bars that fade in and out.

I took a screenshot, but it did not show the problem. This image was perfect.

My external screen works fine. Reboot, reset the SMC and running the Diagnostic Test Apple gave nothing.

Any ideas? Does anyone else have this problem? Trying to avoid the Apple Store / visit the Genius Bar, because the closest is 60 miles (100 km).

You could try a reset of the pram. Keys command, Option, P, R and power button to start for three chimes. But since the outdoor works, it may be a hardware problem with the internal display. In this case, you will need to an apple store and ask them to check it out. Apple diagnostic tests are not definitive. Did you run the hardware test long?

  • Moored W510 has really bad update video internal display

I noticed that when I anchor my w510 in my dock, updates on the internal display is terribly slow.

What I mean is that scrolling in applications is very choppy and rough.

Play videos full screen creates 'split-screen' effect where the Summit of the half is out of sync with the bottom half, this separation is not constant, different media are the divider at different locations. several media have it in about 1/3 from the top.

This is also apparent in other applications like games full screen.

I did some research on the internet about this behavior and have not yet found a good explanation.

First I thought it was something power, I have no 135W power, and I checked the CPU is without limitation down or something unusual rooted or not anchored. I read people have bad experience with the power of 90W with limitation or simply bad terrible performance of the CPU down.

The really strange thing is that as soon as I unplug the computer from the dock, this behavior disappears!

The laptop running on battery or external power gives me about this problem.

I also tried to fix an external display directly on laptop or docking station, and I see no problem on external display.

When you use external display with docking station, the internal screen is still having the problem, while at the same time the external display shows no problem, regardless of the configuration of extended screen or mirror.

    Computer running Windows 7 x 64 with Sp1.

Alll drivers are updated through system update.

An update, I used the updated system drivers, I tried today to download the NVidia driver, so I installed their Quadro Mobile 305.93 driver, and the problem seems to have disappeared!

It's looking good, but I need more than 15 minutes of testing applications scrollng, videos full screen, etc, to make sure that the problem is solved.

  • Black flashing when using photoshop iMac 21.5 "screen resolution 4 k

It has come to my attention that some fellow users encounter black flashing when the use of the tools on their iMac screens recently bought 4 k. This seems to happen when the cursor changes to the mode of the tool in selection mode of arrowhead to use the menu. Had a long conversation with Apple, which says it CAN be a hardware issue regarding the graphics card or an Adobe software incompatibility problem. If you have a problem please report it on the forums. Everyone knows about this problem? Have you solved this problem? Thank you nick

It is a known issue on these machines, and we expect to hear back from Apple on the OS bug that forced him.

  • black flashes on render

Hello! I am a sequence with first and I have black flashes on the final film.  I tried different formats, but I don't know what it is.  It resembles a black frame randomly every 10 seconds more or less...

I have my files on an external hard drive connected by usb.  If something related to this?

Hello! Thanks for your response! I managed to resolve and identify the problem.  I just edit the videos in the AVCHD format, and Black Lightning appeared when I put across the frame.  If I do not change the size of the image, the record was good.  I decided to return to the h.264 format without scaling and image from this file is again a video of size small image.

My operating system is mac, first pro cc 2014 and iris intel graphics pro.

  • Latitude E6410 internal display will not work unless the driver is disabled, regardless of the OS

    Hi all

I had done research on google without end, dell community support research, etc. and cannot find the solution. The internal computer screen does not work on my Latitude E6410, except if the display driver is disabled. I tried all the drivers on the Dell Web site (including previous versions). The laptop has the card Nvidia nvs 3100 m. I've updated to the latest version of the driver available from Nvidia, and it still doesn't work. However, I can use an external monitor using a VGA connection.

    Tried with Windows 7 x 86 and x 64. X 86 and x 64 Windows 8. Windows XP x 86 same results.

The strange thing is that if I leave the compatible driver, I can see the screen flash Dell OEM and the beginning of the GUI of Windows boot, but once the driver is started, the screen goes black.

Ran the Dell diag and video passages. I think the problem is driver/software related like the screen works, but once the driver is loading with Windows, the screen stops video production.

BIOS is updated. All the other drivers installed.

    Any suggestions?

Laptop is still under warranty, so if I have to I can get a mobo replaced, but want to exclude all other possibilities first.

Thanks for all comments and suggestions.

OK, so I finally found the fix (literally, this morning).

After browsing the internet, I found another site where this driver was the recommended fix and it worked:

    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails?driverId=R287174

Now, my e6410 is not the nvidia driver and intel, only nvidia card.

If your e6410 Intel and Nvidia, you may need to play with the pilots to see what will work the Nvidia driver (I'm guessing the driver Dell A08 works well).

As a couple of my co-workers have the same e6410 and did not have this problem, it seems that the material appears to be the culprit, but only in the sense that a particular version of the Nvidia NVS 3100 m driver works with the Dell driver A08 and some will work with the driver Nvidia 302,80 (9.18.13.280) (which is installed by Windows as well). My Dell was purchases / delivered late 2010. My co-workers that Dell was purchase / shipped in early 2011. I don't know if the short time makes all the difference in what provided Dell (or correctly, what Nvidia to Dell Dell installed), but there is a difference.

I also tried to upgrade the driver A08 (which is the version of the driver 8.17.12.5922 dated dated: 31/07/2010) to the 9.18.13.280 (as of: 11/06/2012) and it did not work. I had to go back to the 8.17.12.5922 to get the video to work again.

    My Nvidia NVS 3100 m firmware/bios version is: 70.18.53.00.04.

I hope this helps anyone with this issue, but for now, it seems that the A08 driver is necessary for users of this issue.

Good luck to all with this question, but I will now consider this matter resolved.
