  I tried and tried to reinstall IE8 or even version 8.1 which will not download. I have not physically installed Microsoft 10.

  I also welcomed the firewall off which did not help.

  I would like to inform you that Internet Explorer 10 is the default browser with Windows 8. And you would not be able to upgrade to Internet Explorer 8.

  For Internet Explorer App I suggest you follow the method below and check if that helps:

  Assuming you are using Windows 7, try the following.

  Click on the Start Menu and select Control Panel.  Open programs and features, click on "Windows turn features on or off" and remove the check mark next to Internet Explorer 9 click Yes and then OK and then when done, restart the computer.

  When Windows has restarted, click the Start Menu and select Control Panel.  Open programs and features, click on "Windows turn features on or off" and re-enter the checkmark next to Internet Explorer 9.  Click Yes and then OK, and when it has finished installing, restart the computer again.

  • Open the task (Ctrl + Shift + ESC) Manager
  • In the processes tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select end process.
  • Open the file picker via ' file > new task (run) "and click on the Browse button.
  • Type or paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local in the file name field (AppData is a hidden folder).
  • Select the file IconCache.db and use Delete on the shortcut menu to delete the file.

  The boxes are now in a FIELDSET tag. This is also done for the pop-up windows icons. You can apply a single style to all this by using the code I have suggested here: Re: problem with the position of the elements of in this example, the tag style is for the header of the region, but there should be nothing to stop you adding this into the HEAD tags on the template page itself, but I suggest you check all pages to see that it does not interfere with something else
