internet security AVG 2011 freeze computer @ free version upgrade

I bought the full version before the expiry of the 'free' version I had received before the expiry date, which had a box of activation click on a popup.  I have had no problems to download the upgrade, everything worked well until the date has passed for the free version, is I was not in need of my computer this day.  So the next time I started the windows vista that it froze right now that I moved the mouse box avg telling me my free trial has expired.  That's all! I tried in fixing, also tried SafeMode system restore to a date prior to the expiration date.  Ive used my phone to find info... it seems that I'm not the only others have had what seems to be

the same or similar situations.  No offer of solutions to the quandry. The uninstall option was not a solution according to the positions and this problem...  Please I can't afford a redesign which seems to be the plan of the choice of most users.

This is my life line due to disability, most of my communication is done through "unzipped" highway  Mucho gracias if anyone has a way to back on the road again!

If you can use the Mode safe mode with networking, try to download the AVG Remover from here:

http://www.Avg.com/GB-en/utilities

If you can not download, you must download the Remover on another computer, copy it to a Flash drive and then try to use it on your computer.

Because you have paid for AVG, you should be able to access the phone or AVG online support via the site milimel.com for your country. For example, http://www.avg.com/gb-en/support

    Team dear Microsoft Answers

Am writing to you today because I'm confused how such a safety concern as this could happen and I think I've seen this more than once.

I do not understand why, when I uninstalled AVG a long time ago and also delete all the files that are hidden from the Local 'C' drive

I had at one time gave AVG installed on this laptop, but for a very short time.

I've seen this before, but it seems that from my Yahoo email account and only this one, I have two and this account is one of my first.

I will write to Yahoo, AVG and Kaspersky about this, too, but it made me wonder if there is a link lingering on my laptop or is it in one of my files.

I hope I can get advice on this above statement.

If you use 'Yahoo mail' as you say, then you are probably there access with a web browser. Is this the case?

I suspect that the sender of the messages using AVG scan his outgoing mail and attests that she (a waste of time, by the way) and you see what their computer system added to the post, not something to be added on your end.  Just to be safe, however, use the AVG Remover (found here: http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities) to ensure that AVG is completely out of your system.  Antivirus programs do their best to prevent being uninstalled, and often the Add/Remove programs of control panel uninstall program does not have a complete work.

  • How can I remove the virus 'Internet Security 2013"from my computer?

This thing, which is a fake anti-virus program, somehow got into my computer at home.  I found a command that it stop running, but whenever I boot computer at home, he starts.  In addition, why Microsoft Security Essentials cannot find this thing when I run a scan?

    Hello

I would recommend three programs to you, 2 scanners of anti-malware and anti-virus software; all are freeware:

    Malwarebytes' anti-malware: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html.

    SuperAntiSpyware: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html.

The more I use Avast antivirus: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

  • problem Windows xp and avg internet security

Program AVG Internet Security - AVG PC Tune Up - changed/corrupted my Windows Defragmenter program.  Before downloading the free version of this Tune Up program that I had always used the drive Windows Cleanup and Defragmenter programs. When I now try to defragment my files I get the following message when I try to analyse the "Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (c). Please run Chkdsk/f.

AVG 2 offer help options a) contact Microsoft) b computer restoration to date before you download Tune Up.

Do not use my computer for anything else on internet purchases, store my pictures, my banking and the strange E-mail but does not want to resume a year.  All of the suggestions. I have disinstalled program AVG PC Tune Up months trying to make my computer run faster.  AVG informed me that my security bought 18 month program there is need the upgrade and that is why its doing all my programs so slow.  I don't have any computer talk or knows anything much about them (code of machine 20 years ago!)

    (a) contacting Microsoft won't help you
    (b) restore your computer won't help you

The problem is your HARD drive has been marked "sale" and you cannot defragment a dirty volume.

Your HARD drive may have been marked dirty of a power interruption, using the power button, pulling the plug, abnormal termination, aborted reboot, etc..

You can query the dirty bit on a volume from the command prompt window.  Here's how:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open the command prompt window.

For example, to query the bit of impurity on drive C, type this command:

    fsutil dirty query C:

    The sample output:
    Volume c is dirty
    Volume C: is dirty

Type "exit" to close the command prompt window.

No amount of order entry, no amount of editing the registry deletes the on a volume's dirty bit (sorry that Microsoft committed 'experts' Support Engineer)

Only a chkdsk with error correction (chkdsk/r) can clear the dirty bit, and it might not work the first time.

To run chkdsk/r, click on start, run and enter in the box:

    Chkdsk /r

Click OK and the answer you want volume checked on next reboot (restart of course).

This disk check can last a long time (perhaps several to several hours) depending on the size of the volume, the amount of data on the volume and what the disk check finds to do.  You may need to run more than once.

When chkdsk runs automatically restart either because XP thinks he needs to (perhaps your NTFS volume has been marked as dirty) or you have chosen to do it yourself, the results appear in the viewing Application event log.  You should look there for the chkdsk log and no problems after running chkdsk.

To view the logs in Event Viewer, click Start, settings, Control Panel, administrative tools, event viewer.

A shortcut to the event viewer is to click on start, run and enter in the box:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc

Click OK to launch the event viewer.

Search the Application log for an event originally by Winlogon, something like:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Winlogon
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 1001
    Description:

    Checking file system on C:

The type of the file system is NTFS.
A disk check has been programmed.
Windows will now check the disk.
    39070048 KB total disk space.
    25151976 KB in 78653 files.
    48256 KB in 10264 index.
    0 KB in bad sectors.
237080 KB in use by the system.
65536 KB occupied by the log file.
    13632736 KB available on disk.
Windows has finished checking your disk.

If you see errors - same errors that are corrected, run chkdsk /r again until you see no error.  You should have no errors.

Check again the dirty bit.  Rinse and repeat if you wish.

  • Qosmio G30 freezes at startup of Norton Internet Security 2008

Norton Internet Security 2008 will freeze my computer because soon, it attempts to load and the only way to do is to restart the system by pressing the on/off key.

My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio G30-177 (model No. PQG32E-02G022GR) with Vista Ultimate and pre-installed NIS2007. I have no problem with this NIS2008 version on my other laptop (Qosmio F10 - PQF10E-02300JGR, WinXP MCE).
NIS2007 works well on my G30 and I have no problems at all, but more recent versions of NIS seem to be in conflict with my system:

    1. I am able to install and run the new version, download all updates and adjusting the settings. Maybe, a couple days later my computer freezes after start in exactly when the NIS tray icon appears. For a few seconds there is simply no response of the system at all and the LED of my laptop show that any HD activity has ceased. After having been inactive during those seconds, the cooling fan will start to operate at maximum power, creating a huge noise that I never experienced before, not even while the CPU was operating at 100% for a while due to other programs. Force a reboot, that's all I can do.

    2. now, this time, I rebooted my laptop successfully even once (took a few attempts) and it all of a sudden not freeze. Then I disabled the firewall and auto-protect at all times, so there was no freezing at startup and I just had to enable both the firewall and auto-protect after start manually. In order to avoid the gel again after the reboot, I always disabled NIS before shutdown. For one or two days of workaround has been quite successful.

    3. all of a sudden, after one or two days, this work around will become useless, because the system begins to freeze again at the time of the icon is displayed. In this case, restart has no effect at all, and NIS will continue to freeze at startup. I also tried to prevent form from NIS to ccApp.exe run automatically at startup (administrative tools > system configuration > "Startup" tab). It's successful and my laptop is able to start normally, but if later I try to start NIS manually, it will freeze again.

I had this problem since NIS2008 just came out, so I thought that at the same time an update Windows or Norton may have solved the problem, but this weekend I gave another NIS2008 trying without success. I'm pretty sure that the problem is not caused by other software than Windows or Norton, because I also tried to install NIS after a full system recovery, so I've only preinstalled NIS2007 and Vista on my laptop. I use Norton removal tool and follow the instructions to uninstall before attempting to install the new version of course.
My last hope was that the version of NIS2009beta somehow would not freeze my system, but it does. It does not matter if I try to start 2008 or version 2009beta, the problem is exactly the same.

What really motivates me almost crazy is the fact that NIS works perfectly for a while, then needs enough small workaround, and then after some time completely refuses to work. In these two days I do not change system settings, install or uninstall programs or doing whatever it is that I felt might conflict with NIS...
So far, I have no idea of the solution and have again use NIS2007.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Hello

To be honest I don t use the Norton internet security because it slows down the performance of the laptop and he needs too many resources.
I used the NIS06 and after several months of use I removed it from my system for the reasons mentioned above.

I put really know what might be a problem with your Norton Internet Security but I guess its associated software question maybe there are a few compatibility issues with vista and NIS08. Who knows...

In my opinion, you should first check the Symantec Web site for more details.
Maybe these questions are mentioned somewhere in the FAQ section and maybe some updates or patches are available.

  • Confusion about this internet security software is necessary

I'm getting cofused on how internet security, antivirus software, I should have on my computers.

I have a desktop computer XPS 420 new with 4 GB memory and 750 GB hard drive and a laptop Inspiron 6000 with 1 GB of memory and 60 GB hard drive.  They are currently networked via a Netgear WNDR3300 wireless router.  My HP C6280 printer is connected to the network.  The new '' runs under Windows VISTA SP1 and the laptop, Windows XP PRO SP2.

I'm trying to get my software installed on the new office.  For years I used the Norton Antivirus software, and then more recently the Norton Internet Security software.  But when I got the installation of the network, it Norton is in contradiction with the old rounter Netgear WGT624V3-, on the recommendation of the technician fixing the system, so I started using Trend Micro Internet Security.  That worked fine until I upgraded to Trend Micro Internet Security PRO 2008, and it took so much of my computer's resources (especially my old Dell Dimension 8250) runs.  Also, with the old Netgear router, I had to disable the internet as security options was a conflict.  So I experimented on the laptop with a free version of AVAST and Ad-Aware SE Plus.  These two worked together pretty well, and I had all decided to replace the Trend Micro software on the old desktop until I finally decided to buy the new computer.

Now, I'm in a quandry again.  With the Netgear WNDR3300 router, I have their security WPA - PSK, put in place.  My VISTA Dell supplied with Windows Defender.  Tonight, I tried to install Trend Micro Internet Security PRO 2008 but was told by VISTA that Trend Micro is not compatible with my version of the operating system.   I asked the population of Netgear if I still needed to install software of internet security in addition to the protection in view of their security options AVAST antivirus software and told me I should.  Currently, I have only the AVAST Home edition on the new office.

What are some of your recommendations? I'd go back to Norton?  Is Windows Defender and AVAST with the Netgear security option enough? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I installed the security suite CA from my ISP, which is a huge program and uses 100% CPU on starting and stopping, slowing everthing at a snails pace. I also got rid of my ISP and installed an Intellinet Wireless G PCI Card & am now entirely wireless on my PC. More quickly by far than what I was paying $50 / month for & I use my Windows Firewall.

  • How to stop Vista Security Center 2011 to block access to the internet

My sons laptop has been mess up since yesterday afternoon. There McAffee Antivirus, who has never been a problem, however, "Security Center Vista 2011' at random is appeared for the first time, automatically scanned the computer and reported 25 viruses. For this reason, whenever it opens Internet Explorer to surf the net, a pop-up appears telling him that he is infected. If it it closes its doors, the internet charge only to be saying the same thing again, and if you choose to continue to sail on the same message appears, telling him that he is infected. If we go on the Vista Security Center to try to adjust the settings, it leaves us not as customization options are 'greyed out '. He asks us to buy a full version which we don't want.

We had McAffee scan for these viruses, and it reported a Trojan horse which he deleted. I then rebooted the laptop and the computer starts downloading Vista SP1. It took about an hour to install it. I was hoping that the errors were corrected, however it is still preventing us access to Web sites, saying each site Web is "infected." Several windows pop up appears regularly telling us that the computer is infected and asked to purchase a full version of Vista Security Center 2011.

Please help, as we have tried a lot of things, and we cannot remove this security program.

    -Simon

Hi there, Ok vista security center 2011 is a virus. You need a better program Antimalware too to roll all this crapy virus!, I wrote this a month ago. You need too download malwarebyets you can find it here on this link http://www.malwarebytes.org/, download the free version, then you will see a desktop icon of this anti-malware program. You need also side click on it and run as administrator, then it will start up. Now DO a FULL system SCAN, not a quick analysis. It should take about 40mins or so. Now, you will see at least 4 bad Trojan and a virus. Now delete 'em, then after restart PC... Do the same thing again. After the scan is complete, and no virus found... System Restore to a point over 5 days. When we know that when the computer was working no probs then you done everything;), Post back on here to see how you are thereby. Thanks Dion.
