INVALID_PARAMETER when PIN message sending

Hello.

I am trying to send a PIN message to a user via c#.  Here is my code:

UserMessage message = new UserMessage();

message. Subject = messageSubject;

message. Body = messageBody;

DispatcherMessageTypeEnum messageType = new DispatcherMessageTypeEnum();

messageType.@enum = DispatcherMessageTypeEnumType.PIN;

messageType.enumSpecified = true;

sendMessageToUser request = new sendMessageToUser();

request.userId = basServiceResultAttributes.userId;

Request.message = message;

response2 sendMessageToUserResponse = coreWebService.sendMessageToUser (request);

Result SendMessageToUserResult = response2.returnValue;

Console.WriteLine ("msg PIN status:" + result.sendMessageToUserReturnStatus.code);

Seems simple enough, but I just get an invalid_parameter error.

The message subject and body are plain text and the user name is correct.

Can you see what I'm missing?

Found the problem.

Nothing has been done with messageType.  I just needed to add this line:

request.messageTypeEnum = messageType;

Now, it works fine.

  • using PIN messages to send the query and return data

    I am working on an app that will send a request to another blackberry and return the data all via PIN messages. There is a user interface where the user selects the contact and start the PIN message with the request. There is a background application that listens to these requests. When we arrive, he must inform the user and allow them to send the requested data or reject the request. If they choose to send, it will undertake a PIN to the sender with the requested data, which will then be returned to the screen. Is it possible by using PIN messages, and if so, can I prevent their display in the list of messages?

    You * can * remove PIN of the Inbox messages. For all purposes useful, this is just a specific instance of an ELECTRONIC message.

  • I get the empty error message when clicking on "send & receive in Windows Mail.

    Original title: I receive a blank error message when you click "Send & Recieve" in Windows Mail.

    I recently asked a question in the Microsoft answer that I could access Internet Forum is no longer my favorites to Internet Explorer 8 (although they were always on display in the folder My Favorites in my user account folder.)  Several fixes to this problem have been proposed, but the one that worked was when it was suggested that I might have a corrupted user account.  I was directed to Microsoft link "How to fix a corrupted user profile." I followed the instructions and created a new user account and copied the files to the new account. Was done to correct the problem, and now I can access all my favorites still in IE8 in the new user account.

    However. I am now no longer able to send or receive messages in Windows Mail. When I click on "Send & receive" I get the box that says "some errors occurred while processing tasks requested. Please see the list of errors below for more details. "However, the box below which is supposed to list the errors is completely empty. I contacted my ISP (Virgin Media) provider, who did various diagnostic tests. They told me that this isn't a problem with their security, and they checked my account settings to make sure that everything is correct. They seem to think that this could be a problem with my registry. They sent several messages test (arriving in my web Virgin Media mail box), but for some reason are not getting downloaded in my Windows Mail. On a few occasions did pass the test messages (but only after I closed Windows mail and then reopened.) However, Windows Mail has stopped working again.

    Just once, I got details of an error that has been ' ERR protocol error. Port 110, secure (SSL): 0X800CC90. 0x800ccc18 error number. "However, it was the only time. All other times, the error box is completely blank.

    I would be very grateful if someone could help me solve this problem.  I'm very IT limited knowledge.

    I looked in the links provided by Karena & Bruce, but they did not provide a solution to my particular problem.   I must say that I have noticed some improvements to Windows Mail but the button "Send & receive" still does not work properly. I can now send and receive messages.  If there is no message on my e-mail server of the Virgin, access automatically when I open Windows Mail. However, if a new message is sent to me and as I click on "Send & receive" Windows Mail is already open on my computer, I always get the empty error message. The only way I can access the message is to close Windows Mail and re - open once again, when the new message is downloaded automatically. I found a link that says this error could be due to a duplicate news account.  I found that I had two ms.news accounts in my Windows Mail account and remove one of them.  However, this has not resolved the problem, and I'm still only able to receive new messages by the opening and closing of Windows Mail.

    Does anyone have any other suggestions?

    Hello

    I would like to know how to send the Pin Messages by my Web site programming. I was told to ask this Question in the Section of Java development, so I guess that's where I am now .

    Thank you

    BBRY/RIM does not have a public API for this, it is not possible to send PIN messages without device.

  • Is it possible to invoke the mail app to send a pin message?

    Hello. I need to invoke the e-mail application to allow the user to send a pin message. Currently, it seems that you can only do for sms and emails.
    Is there a way to put a flag or something saying the BONES it's a pin message?

    Thanks in advance.

    If you send the message to a PINAddress, rather than an address, a PIN message.

    See the documentation for the API for PINAddress.

    Code looks like this:

        try {
            pinReplyTo[0] = new PINAddress(pin,name);
            newMessage.addRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO,pinReplyTo);
        }
        catch (Exception e){
             System.out.println(e);
        }

  • How to check the possibility to send the PIN message?

    Hello

    Is it possible to verify that a device is able to send a PIN message without sending the message to the PIN and check its status? I cover all possible cases, such as devices with WIFI and without, company activated devices and is not active and etc., devices with antenna radio off the coast.

    Best regards.

    I think you need to BIS to send PIN messages.

    If this is the case, you can use CoverageInfo to check for this.

  • Cannot view attachments of a message when trying to send

    Recently, the attachments do not load once try to convey a message to an e-mail address... It shows that attachments in total size, IE (4.1 MB of 25.0 MB) but not the file attached. Taking into account that I can visualize correctly and also the download in the original message received.

    Operating system: Windows XP SP2

    An email of 25 megabytes is normally too big to be accepted by an ISP.  If you do really want to forward, and then use Message | Send as an attachment.  That should send the message intact.

  • The message send failed.

    When sending an email, I get the following:

    The message send failed.
    The server of SMTP smtp - server.cfl.rr.com does not support encrypted passwords. If you create the account, please try to replace "Password, transmitted from unsecured way" as the "authentication method" in the "account settings |" The server settings. If it used to work and now suddenly fails, it is a common scenario how someone could steal your password.

    Not many suppliers use encrypted passwords. Since this is for sending you changed normal password under the SMTP server settings?

    a. I am able to recreate the account on another machine to a different place and it works.
    b. I can take an account of my machine, create in this place and it will not work.

    d. contacted support for hosting of the company (HostCentric) they blame the ISP
    c. confirmed username and passwords are correct.

    f. may receive emails cannot be sent.

  • My emails are quadruplicating themselves. When I remove them, they disappear, but when I press send/receive back

    I use Outlook express for e-mail. Someone had a problem with the duplication of emails or their refusal to stay deleted?

    The other post:

    My emails are quadruplicating themselves. When I remove them, they disappear, but return when I press send/receive. I tried to mark them as read, and then delete them, but have had no success. What is the answer, please?

    Poster PA bear MS MVP on another post:

    Assuming that Outlook Express (which has nothing to do with Internet Explorer):

    1. move all the messages that you want to keep out of sent items anddeleted items folders and in other local OE folders have created you for archiving (backup) of such messages.

    1B. move 99% of your messages in your Inbox folder to other folders the of OE, too.

    2. Note the location of the store of your identity (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain).

    2B. turn on "Show hidden folders and files" via start | Control Panel | Folder options | View (cf.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html).

    3.-online close Outlook Express! <>

    4. in Windows Explorer [Windows key + E], access your storage folder, find & removeOutbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbxand Deleted Items.dbxfile.

    To avoid such problems in the future, comply with the following restrictions:

    N ' not use Inbox or sent items to archive messages. Move them to local folders created for this purpose.

    -Empty the deleted items folder daily.

    -Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE while records that "work offline". More onhttp://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm

    -Do not cancel automatic compacting, where it would happen and do not try to close OE via Manager tasks or stop your Automatic compaction machine can take place.

    -Disable e-mail scanning in your antivirus application. It can cause this corruption (as well as loss of messages) and offers noadditional protection:

    Windows Mail receives by e-mail at the start of the program, but when I press send/receive it does nothing more.
    Then when I mail windows startup that he gets all of my email, if I send an email to myself, it sends e-mail directly, but by hitting the send/receive button, it does nothing (it shows the Outbox send/receive and said that there are mistakes, but when you check the error tab, it showed no errors). If I close windows mail and that he again, the email is received.  I put it to automatically receive by email after 10 minutes, even there, receiving nothing. I have not any virusscanner, it's a clean install with windows vista 32-bit, and configured the windows Messaging. Got all the updates that are available from Ms.

  • PIN messages

    Hello

    I'm Stephen Baker, an employee at CAS Corp., based in Oakville (Ontario).

    We provide a hosted emergency notification service, and we would like to include e-mail PIN in the list of communication options.

    The push API will allow the sending of PIN messages?  If not, what are our options?

    The Service of Push BlackBerry allows you to push messages to a custom application, installed on a BlackBerry Smartphone.  It does not support the PIN messaging.

    However, what you describe is possible, but requires a BlackBerry Smartphone.  You may have a front end application (on a web server or where ever) who accepts the PIN of the destination user, the subject and the message of BlackBerry.  This application can communicate with a custom application running on a BlackBerry Smartphone to your environment, which could send the PIN message to the destination user.
