  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv autorotation setting returns to portrait when the phone is turned off

I like to keep the orientation of the phone to turn but will not hold the adjustment.  I change the setting for automatic rotation whenever I turn on the camera, but once I got disabling the phone setting goes back to the Portrait.  I have other Android devices, and I have a Z10 and Q10 and never had to put auto-rotation once.  I've been foolling around during almost two weeks now with the support of BB and all I get is an evasive.  (They answer as I am stupid and do not know the difference between the two icons.)  I changed the quick setting of parameters and display, it always comes back to portrait when the phone is off.  Does anyone have ideas on this?

Hmmm... Well, I don't remember what is happening for me with this exact same build. All I can do is recommend you try again with formal support... something is wrong if she does that.

Or, if you don't want to talk to them, another thing, you could try the BBVE app, to see if he can identify any problems:

Otherwise, this has always been like that? If this isn't the case, then what has changed just before everything started? A new application? An update of a certain type? Something else? Think very carefully that the smallest thing could be causal.

In addition, the only thing I can recommend is a reload of the OS, using what I call the "skeleton" procedure, in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Via the autoloader, load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones bedside mode

Hi, does anyone know if the private has a bedside mode?

Also, what about a regular mode of privacy / bedside too?

    Thank you.

I think I might have found a solution without having to download additional applications.

Set your meeting Silent Mode - create yourself a meeting when you go to bed until when your alarm is cause to wake up - THEN you can use the clock to NIGHT mode and use the alarm in the normal way. You will not receive notifications while you sleep and... run you put also your vibrate off the coast...

  • BlackBerry Smartphones landscape mode

Help! My Torch 9850 is stuck in portrait mode. He's not in landscape mode when I turn it. It was working fine yesterday.

Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones 2 Questions: Setting recurrent events calendar & auto unlocking

    2. I put my phone to 'Lock lock on Holster' (according to the security option). When I take it off of the case, I have to press on * unlock to turn, which I find it too heavy. Is there a way to "Unlock the handheld computer" automatically when removing it from the case?

    Thank you

    sHello,

Yes, it's easy. Just disable the lock on the Holster.

When your blackberry is holstered, there is a small magnet that said 'you're inside me' for screen and blackberry keyboard do not work as long as the blackberry is in the Holster. As son as you come out of the Holster, the screen and the keyboard are available for type.

It works for the Blackberry case, as well as for some other pouches/holsters from other companies, provided that they have the magnet

  • BlackBerry for blackberry Smartphones airplane mode

on a recent flight, the flight attendant said that you can use on your phone airplane mode.  I had not heard of this before and want to know if my blackberry curve has such a fashion?

It's the home section and presentations from the forum, in the future, you can choose a more appropriate area for your questions.  But, Hello and welcome to BlackBerry.com, anyway Support Forums.

There is not a function "Airplane Mode" but that's what you do:

Before closing the door of the aircraft, go in manage connections and turn off the mobile network. Your signal on screen indicator should read OFF. Then turn the unit off.

When you are in the air and asked to do it, you can turn on the BB, and the signal goes off.

Thanks for the info. you're right, I probably have a Blackberry account through my provider of the support cell. I didn't know this until I bought this phone. I love on the phone, except that I wish RiM would have included courier pop and internet through the cellular provider without the need to have a special account. It's expensive and with the extra cost, I don't want to activate the account. Thanks again for the info.

    Hello

It is unfortunate that you did not know this before purchase... a pity indeed. But, be aware that BB provides some unique items that are for the customer BB companies don't. For example, carriers must install and maintain a unique infrastructure that is only for their BB customers. As a result, they may charge extra for these services. It is regrettable that they have not revealed these facts you advance... oh, it's the companies that control the price... no RIM.

    Good luck!

  • Is blackBerry smartphones there a setting to set how often my email is checked?

Is there a setting to set how often my email is checked? I myself have sent an email to an account to my Hotmail account that is configured on the BlackBerry, but he did not appear for a while.

    Thank you

No possibility of adjustment.  Your customer e-mail servers are queried approxmately every 300 seconds if I remember correctly.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set ringtone for messages

OK I looked everywere in the phone to be able to choose a ringtone for my MMS, text and my email thru blackberry.net and I can't seem to find a way to do it. I need to be notified when an incoming message is received, someone at - it indexes?

My carrier is Verizon just in case where what matters.

Should be able to if you go into your profiles on the home screen icon. In the menu that appears scroll down to advanced. Click the profile 'Active'. From there, you can click on the category of Messages to change Holster/In case settings to control how the device will work for incoming emails. You can also change the SMS category to change the incoming text message response.
