IOM - understand the operations of the user - a scheduled task

Hello

Could someone here explain what means this task?
The manual says:
This scheduled task performs the operation specified by the UserOperation attribute on the user specified by the attribute UserLogin account

Anyone here have an example scenario that this task could be useful?

Concerning
HH

Pretty simple. This Scheduler is used to perform actions on the user IOM account according to a predefined schedule. This means that you can perform the actions ENABLE, DISABLE or DELETE any user of IOM. And the attribute values can be:

UserLogin - IOM User Login
UserOperation - ENABLE

The scheduler run above will allow the user if the people with reduced mobility. Now the utility part. Consider the following use cases:

(* 1) * cancelled at any user tell User001 you and that you want to disable this user and all resources provisioned at 18:00 hours once he finished all the work desktop, and if you turn off the user to the user to disable the button the user directly and all of its resources would be left immediately. So you can assign to this scheduler to run at 18:00 hours, with values User001 and DISABLE

(* 2) * you're a Helpdesk guy / IOM and Director of IOM does not want you to have access to the item of menu users because he doesn't want you to have a look at the personal data of the user IOM but he want always that you can actually run enable - disable actions on IOM. In this case, that it will give you access to the menu item manage schedule the task so that you can perform the daily activity of the operations. It is a solution for the use case.

Thank you

Sunny

You have can not be programmed tasks, but one or several applications that you have installed probably made (without bothering to tell you).  Google is a likely culprit, but certainly not the only one.

Most of these tasks are "phone home" search for updates of applications.  If you ask me, you're better off with tasks not running - but I'm sure that you don't like the error message at every startup.

Rather than starting at the end with the section of the "Troubleshooting" section, begins to run and find out what's on demand - so you can decide whether you care or not that it is not performed.

Click Start > Accessories > system tools > scheduled tasks

The window tasks planned opens and you can see the list of tasks.  If you want the tasks to be performed, but they are not, then follow «troubleshooting» article  If you don't want the task to run, do a right click and 'delete '.

Or, if you do not want to risk to delete something you don't know, but don't want the error of "missed tasks", right-click on a task, select properties and then uncheck the box in the tab 'Task' that says 'Enabled '.  This will give time to what the job is all about and why he could not be executed but will prevent the message "some tasks have been missed" to come whenever you start the search.

  • IOM disables the user on the end date

    Hello

We have inherited the IOM system therefore needs to check the default IOM. When we enter the current date as the end date, IOM automatically disables the user. This custom behavior or it's the default?

I ask this question because the new requirement is that the user must be turned off at 18:00 the end day immediately after the reconciliations.

    Thanks in advance

It is on the behavior of the box.

  • How to retrieve a result of the user for a task in worklist application?

    Hello

I have a requirement to retrieve the result of a task for a user in the application of the list of tasks in a BPEL process. You will find details below:

I have a BPEL process that contains the human task for an approval workflow. The human task is defined as:

    1. my task requires approval for parallel flow model. that is, I will assign tasks to multiple users and they can take action at the same time.
    2. once all users have taken on the task (100% percentage of Consensus), the overall outcome will be decided as approved or rejected.
    3. after step 2, I want to update the results of each approver in a table. (that is, each approver's decision: approved or rejected).

How can I retrieve the results for each user? I am able to see the overall result of the task and not the results of the individual user.

Is it possible to do this? If so, how?

All entries will be really useful.

    Thanks in advance.

We use 11.1.1.3. called onSubTaskUpdated for each user (n times) to approve/reject, she also gettting called onTaskCompleted after all users participated.

  • How to manage the timestamp custom scheduled task, written for target recognition

    Hello

I wrote a custom users reconciile system scheduled task target... but whenever I run the scheduled task to target Recon... it generates the Recon. events for all users.

How to handle this... How to pass the timestamp value to custom target Recon scheduled task.

    Thank you
    Patricia

That is why ignoreEvent() API is provided in the interface of the IOM.

But he does this method comapare ignoreEvent() values with IOM user profile user or users process form values?
Yes, it works for both. The input of this API argument is the name of the resource object and the Office of receiver can be approved / target you created. SO for your resource target reconciliation, it works for you.

  • Upgrade VMware Tools in the form of scheduled tasks

    Hi all

I need to upgrade my VM to the latest version of VMware Tools (9.0.10 since 5.1.0 Update 2).

As some of the virtual machine are used in a production environment, reset must be done during the night on weekends.

I wanted to create a scheduled task for the automatic update of the VMware Tools, but unfortunately, this task is not available.

I wonder if there is a way to create tasks scheduled using the Scheduler of vSphere.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    Best regards, Werner

    Hi Werner,.

PFB the process to install VMtool without restarting the machines.

  • IOM - how set up a notification for ANY scheduled task got error/failure

    Hello

Can we in place a notification for ANY task scheduled (generally) in which case it fails?
I know that we can develop a custom on-demand task and then send a notification through Java code but I think on the analysis of the aspects, I mean, if a scheduled task that must be completed successfully had a mistake, IOM admin may be notified to work on the incident.

  • Activate the user IOM account automatically

    Hi all

OOTB IOM neutralizes the user and all its resources, if you set an End Date for the user, but it is not turn it back on if you clear the End Datefield.
Normally, it must clear the Date fin field, record and then click allow.

Im trying to active the user automatically when the End Date field is cleaned, what will happen with reconciliation.

To get this behavior, I made the following configuration on the User Xellerateprocess definition:

Create a task called change end Date and configured this task to trigger by adding it to the Lookup.USR_PROCESS_TRIGGERS.

The task checks if the End Date field is empty.
If its empty, it means that the field has cleaned and then I traced on the Response Code tab to call the already existing task called user.

    It works almost as expected.
It allows the user to IOM BUT:

-Although the user State change to Active the checkbox called Disabled User verifiedrest.
    -All provisioned resources are disabled.

When you do that manually, by disabling the End Date, registering and clicking the Activate button it does not allow the user, uncheck the checkbox the user disabled and active all the resources of the user.

WHA I'm missing? When you click the Activate button on the screen of the user details is not calling the task to allow the user to the User Xellerate process definition?

    Thank you for any suspicion.
    Adriano.

Your task even for end date, invoke the 'enableUser' api. This will allow the user, and then propagate the change in targets for task enable as well.

  • Selection of approval tasks using adapters-could not retrieve the information of the user

    Hello
I created the reconciliation of flat file (IOM 9.1) users. According to the requirement, approval must be provided before users are provisioned to Active Directory, using the 2 conditions.
If the user is in the "Executive", level 2 approval is required so that if the user is the "Senior" position, single approval.
The field to distinguish the condition is 'Position' defined in the UDF. I have created an approval process for Active Directory with level 2 approvals already.
I created an adapter that checks the position of the user and returns responses. I use this adapter in a task to "check the Position of the user. This task above the 2 'immediate head' approvals and approvals for 'second level '.
Depending on the response, the trust levels are supposed to be selected.

But when I'm trying to retrieve the position of the user into the adapter using the key of the user (usrKey), the value of usrKey spending like '1' (xelsysadm key) instead of the user key which I created through reconciliation flat file. What could be the reason for this? Need your help guys.

  • Change the frequency of Notification metric defined by the user

    Hello
I'm trying to define a metric defined by the user in the enterprise grid control manager to warn me of the failure in the execution of scheduled tasks.
My script to check the execution of scheduled tasks returns something like this and it runs every two hours:

    em_result = 2
    em_message = 2 tasks by mistake ("Task1" "Task3")

So the first time the triggered alert, he sent me an email in critical condition with my em_message.

But two hours later the next audit is not sending me any warning because the result is always critical, as this is my first problem!
And if the message has been changed for example:

    em_result = 2
    em_message = 1 task (s) on error ("Task1")

I don't see anywhere the new updated message, the alert history is not updated, it's my second problem.

    Kind regards
    PierreL

The settings do not work properly. If the metric terms, the alert is triggered. When the condition is no longer fulfilled, the metric fades.

You are the first problem can be solved by repeating notifications, available from 10.2.0.4 but attention is a global setting so it will affect all of the metric.

The second issue is probably related to the first, the error is not compensation.

If it is a measure for the work failed for the oracle Scheduler, you can adjust your request to check only the work done in the last 15 minutes and run the metric every 15 minutes... that means if you get a job at 09:00 but failure is working okay at 10:00, your metrics will draw 9ish, but be deleted by 9.15ish.

If the task failed then at 11:00, you will get a new alert.

It will be interesting to see what other solutions the Foglight user community found for this.

A simple option I can think of is having the task cron/writing to a file log and this logfile with LogFilter monitoring officer

  • The child jobs with tasks Parent liaison

A Parent task you need in custom Inbox.
Now, when the user opens this task he should see several tasks assigned to this user for this ID.
Once all tasks are complete, so only I will be done with the parent task.

    Is here

How to bind the child jobs with one parent task
Show a single task parent in the Inbox through jsp custom
When all the tasks are completed how can I ensure that the duties of Parent is now?

    Please pour in your thoughts...

Looks like it's a perfect fit for the optional tasks in an interactive activity.

With interactive activities, you have a main task, and you can define as many optional tasks you want. The activity ends when executing the main task (if you have the auto all the option enabled).

You can set all your tasks of 'child' as optional tasks and then have the task main validate that all optional tasks have been executed before continuing or display an error message saying that x is not done.

You would see only the main task in the Inbox, but when you see the details of the task, you would see all optional tasks that can be performed.
