IOmegaEZ Media and backup center low transfer Performance files

HI, I have a 1 TB storage media and Center IOmegaEZ backup.

The operating system NAS device connected via the ethernet port to home LAN via a router device domestic classic.

In some cases (frequently) during the transfer of records and files to the storage of any PC on the LAN (through the process of copy/paste in windows Explorer) performance or bandwidth decreases considerably, at levels of 50 Kbps and the process becomes extremely slowly.

To resolve this situation, I need to restart the IOmega device.

Because this can happen?

Thank you

Facundo Baudino.

OK, I'll try to disable the media server and upgrade to the latest version of the firmware.

If the problem persists I will contact you with technical support.

Thanks again!

Facundo.

    Hello

I hope someone could advise me if Sync Center (Windows 7 64-bit), will work with an Iomega multimedia, EZ (1 TB) and backup center.

Iomega multimedia, EZ (1 TB) and the backup center, appears on "My computer/network locations", with all the different readers (for example. Documents (\\IomegaEz) (t) and the music, movies, photos, backups and media shared, but does not appear in "Sync Center".

I would really appreciate any help and advice to achieve this, I had the "Iomega, Quick-Protect" how works, but he lost, due to the change to Windows 7.

I'm afraid that my computer skills are very poor, so please be gentle with the speeches of tech :)).

  • What to use for the storage media and backup?

What material and components should I buy if I want to automatically back up our three Macs and watch downloaded (NOT continuous) movies on TV?

    Here is our current configuration:

-Computers: (Mac Mini, MBP and Air)

-Router/backup: via TimeCapsule (with our satellite Internet connected to the TimeCapsule via ethernet input)

-Film/storage media: digital WD hard drive

-J' have an Apple TV (3rd generation), but we do not use it... cannot

We currently live in Kenya, where internet speed is not great... so we are unable to stream movies.  Average speed is about 100 Kbps.  Have about 2 TB of movies we watch currently on TV by plugging a portable hard disk into the DVD drive. I know enough that IT is dangerous (e.g. not much!), but need advice on options on a good way to potentially combine these requirements (storage backup and film). Potentially, something like a new RAID drive plugged into a router. RAID drive backups using Time Machine and then also has films on which can be wired (via the USB port? Ethernet to Apple TV 4th Gen to HDMI to TV?) TV to watch movies. Not sure if I need something like Plex media server or something to do, however.

    Thanks much for any help!

I suggest that you consider a dedicated NAS device. An example would be the Synology DS416.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

From your problem description, I understand that you are unable to transfer files from an external drive on another drive. Please let me know if this isn't the problem that you are experiencing.

Before troubleshooting, I have little information on the issue.

    1. Do you receive any error or display message?
    2. Did you recent hardware or modifications to the software on the computer before this problem?

Try the methods and then check after each method:

Method 1: Transfer files from a drive to the location on the desktop or a temporary folder and then try to transfer them to the destination disk.

Note: make sure the free space on the disk in the destination drive.

    Method 2: Run the Fixit:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_file_and_folder_diag/

Method 3: Disconnect your player safely, and restart the computer. And then try to transfer the files.

If the problem persists, post your reply with results and questions above. We are happy to help you further in the advanced troubleshooting steps!

    It will be useful.

  • Transfer large files from an old computer to a new one

Recently, I bought a computer and I want to transfer large files (ranging from 5 GB to 8 GB) to the new computer of the former, on what they are. I tried to put them on a USB stick 32 GB, but the thing does not accept files greater than 4 GB. I'm really frustrated and I need help to transfer these files.

You can format your USB to allow him to manage larger files.  Here's how:

    1. Plug the USB on any computer
    2. Press +E on the keyboard to open the file Explorer.  Go to the 'Computer' or 'This PC' section.
    3. Right click on the USB key and choose the Format
    4. Choose the NTFS file system type from the menu drop down and use the option "quick format".

      * WARNING: All DATA on the USB key will definitely be deleted.* *.

    5. Click OK and confirm that you want to erase all data on the USB key.

Once completed, you can then use the USB to transfer your files.

  • Satellite A205 - Vista backup center and restoration with a WiFi hard drive

I use Vista Ultimate Center of backup and restore to back up hard drive of my laptop Satellite A205 series on a wireless external hard drive. The external hard drive (which is formatted in NTFS) is directly attached (via USB) to my wireless router Belkin low, instead of being connected directly on my laptop.

I know that this WiFi network hard drive is recognized by my laptop series Satellite A205, because it appears as "Drive Z:" when I click on 'My Computer'... but the version of "Backup and Restore Center" which appeared on my laptop Satellite A205 only allows backup of DVD or directly - connected hard drive not the readers of (strange for a laptop with built-in WiFi) network.

By contrast, the version of the backup center and restaurant located on my computer to my lists one office (also Vista), drives on the computer at first - but it includes a "more:"hyperlink by which someone with rights Admin can click and access the network drives. "

This "more:"hyperlink does not appear on the version of the backup center and restore on my laptop Toshiba Satellite 205. "

I can't even someone at Microsoft to talk to me without first

    Any suggestions?

    Hi irsharp23,

    > but the version of "Backup and Restore Center" which appeared on my Satellite A205 laptop only allows backup of DVD or directly - connected hard drive not the readers of (strange for a laptop with WiFi built-in) network.
    Laughing out loud
I think that's not a junk Toshiba. Center backup and restore is designed by Microsoft and Toshiba has nothing to do with it. So I think you need to get in touch with the guys at Microsoft to ask for a solution, or there may be an update for this tool.
    Did you check that?

Moreover, why n t connect the external DRIVE directly to your laptop drive? I don't see a reason to connect such a disc HARD backup over the network, because this image of backup can be used only on your laptop.

Alternative, I can recommend Acronis True Image to record images of backup on the network or if you use Microsoft SyncToy to synchronize your files between laptops and network. ;)

  • The guide to "Help and Support Center" installed for Windows XP Media Center 2004 is largely outdated and must be updated.

I have version Dell of Windows Media Center 2005 (service pack 3) installed on my XPS 600 desktop computer.  The installed Help and Support Center guide date for use with Windows Media Center 2004 and has never been updated to include most of the changes system over the past six years. Dell or Microsoft should be responsible for the update of the guides or instructions that are installed on the operating system. Not only that, but Media Center and Movie Maker themselves also grossly neglected as updates are concerned.
The currently installed Help and Support Center guide is missing details on significant changes to Windows applications and utilities.  I rely on up-to-date information to make changes to my OS applications and utilities.  There is a lot of information in this guide that is incomplete and misleading and therefore not very reliable.
I have an OEM of Windows XP version and I wonder if there is an update of current or replacement for this system guide and who is responsible for the update.

Nothing in XP will be updated. The current Windows operating system is Windows 7. XP is already three iterations of the windows behind. A great substitute for the XP search feature (which was never very good) is Agent free Ransack.

    Hi Ron68PB,

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

2 are you able to open other programs?

    3. do you get error messages or error codes?

    Method 1:

You try to run a SFC scan to check the corrupted system files.

You can read the following article to launch the SFC scan:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    Method 2:

Alternatively, you can try to check if the problem occurs in safe mode.

    Hi happythinker321,

    1. How did you create the backup?

You will need to use the advanced restore feature and check if it works.

    1. open the Center to backup and restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then click backup and Restore Center.

    2. click on Advanced Restore Options. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. click on files from a backup made on a different computerand then follow the steps.

Also check if the backup CD contains files whose extension is like. BKF
