iOS 10 Safari / JavaScript bookmarklets

I have not updated to iOS 10 again. Before that, I would like to know if Safari still allow JavaScript bookmarklets in iOS 10?

(For the community, there was no Safari for iOS or any community for iOS in general applications.)

To cite how this can be tested:

You can change the address of any bookmark to

JavaScript:Alert('test');

and when you click the bookmark, if it displays "test" and then the JavaScript worked. Anyone can try this in iOS 10 Safari?

  • JavaScript bookmarklet does not work in the blank new tab

I use the Quixapp javascript bookmarklet (which opens a dialog for a variety of web shortcuts). I have Firefox start page the value empty. The Quixapp bookmarklet works great over any page, including the Firefox "home" page and a new blank PAGE, but it does not at all in a new empty TAB. If I order - click on the bookmarklet from Quixapp (it's in my toolbar) and open it in a new tab, it works very well, even when I do that to a blank tab where it does not otherwise. The behavior is the same in safe mode.

You can set the new tab page to about: Virgin by changing the pref browser.newtab.url on the topic: config page.

Currently, Firefox default Google, and I know that I can change the default handler in preferences > Applications > Web feeds, but it must be an application on the Mac or predetermined service (Google and Yahoo).

  • broke up with FF8 JavaScript bookmarklets

I have a couple of JavaScript bookmarklets that worked very well with FF7 and are now broken with FF8. Nothing has changed in the code. I run the script with the "Custom Buttons" extension. The script drives me to a digital channel and then add this string to a predefined URL. Here is a sample of the script "last known good configuration".

    loadURI ("javascript: (function () {Tkt = document.getSelection ();)") If (!) TKT) {void (Tkt = prompt ("Ticket #',"))} if (Tkt) {z = open () .document;} ("({{z.location.href ='https://my.domain.com/ticket/'+ escape (Tkt)}}) ()");

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I'm pretty confident that this isn't a problem with the script because it works very well for the months leading up to the recent update of FF8.

Since upgrading to iOS 9.3.3 and 9.3.4 on my iPad mini with 4 a lot (a lot) of sites Web shows no images or videos.    Sometimes clicking on a link in a site Web fails to start a search on this page.  The same sites work very well on my iPhone 6 set even iOS.  Safari is very generally useless to the time on the iPad Mini 4.

What gives?   Y at - it a setting I missed?

Try the settings > Safari > clear history, and data from the Web site, then restart. Hold down the sleep and home buttons until the Apple appears. See if that helps.

  • Normal (internal) link to external site opens in Safari on iOS after upgrade to cli - 6.0.0

I just tested this again with a recompilation; It still does not work...

My app has a normal link, (a href), to an external site, which should open in the application itself. This works very well in Android. But in the iOS, it opens externally in Safari when it is compiled with cli - 6.0.0. Compiled with cli - 5.2.0 that it opens in the app, no problem. I have the plugin added whitelist and origin allow browsing, attempts to authorize and access are all set to *.

    So I think it's a bug.

    See also: -in-safari-on-ios-after-upgrade-to-cli-6-0-0 http://community.phonegap.com/nitobi/topics/normal-internal-link-to-external-website-opens

    Found!

After being pointed in the right direction on Jira... it was the attempts to authorize that causes this behavior.

    Using

or leave this entire string out of the config, causes an iOS open safari.

However, by using the following in the config works correctly:

And I thought using the * would be the easy way to configure this :-)

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

  • Java support for iPad/iOS

I know it's a long question/suggestion, but I wanted to give my use case. I have an iPad 2 Air right now, that I use for personal work content and limited content is mainly. I'm certainly interested to go to the Pro 12.9 inches because it has a lot more real estate and has been marketed as the iPad that can replace my laptop. iPad is incredibly close to realize this vision, for me, but with a glaring exception: part of my job is dependent on creating content HTML using a Java plug-in. clearly, iOS and Safari never supported Java and other plug-ins in Safari for iOS and it doesn't look like it is expected to do in iOS 10. If you want to really wonder iPad on something similar to a 4 Surface Pro or any traditional computer, you have to give me all the features that I need on top of everything that I know iPad can do. It's Apple, so I know that you are able to do. If all goes well, someday, you choose to act on it.  Thank you.

It seems that you are talking to Apple here

    Apple isn't here

You can tell them that if you post to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.htm

  • When did javascript to resize windows has stopped working?

I just upgraded from Fx3.6.8 to Fx16.0.2, and now my javascript bookmarklets don't work. It doesn't seem to be a way to quickly resize a window by clicking on a bookmark that contains a javascript function, such as:

    JavaScript: (function() {window.moveTo (22.33);window.resizeTo(560,(screen.availHeight-35));})}) ();

I noticed the same problem in Fx22 on another computer. So, apparently, even with javascript activated, these functions don't work the URL line.

Is it possible to resize a window, otherwise than by manually by dragging a corner?

You can run JavaScript code using the location bar, so you must use the command-line of the Web Console instead.

I have a question very bizzare. I am unable to use Safari with success on my iPad, iPhone and the iMac. They all run the latest versions of El Capitan & iOS respectively.

On the iMac - safari takes over, but the search bar does not work - no search is possible (you can type, but does not appear or anything occurs when you press on enter), only by entering the URL manually. On iOS, the Safari app closes as soon as you touch the search bar. Typing a bookmark works well.

Any thoughts? It feels as if something in iCloud is perhaps corrupt Safari on all fronts.

  • Graphic covering unwanted downloaded file portfolio PDF [iOS]

Download file PDF portfolio for iPad mini. Download successfully, but a graph appears saying to better read the portfolio should use "Adobe Reader X." and there is button telling me I should 'Get Adobe Reader now.'  Clicking on it tells me it is already loaded on the ipad: it's true. But cannot get rid of the image to view the portfolio. Please tell us how to remove the graph that somehow seems, it is integrated into my PDF file. I deleted the PDF file and re-downloaded - same problem

    Hello

The 'download portfolio PDF file"appears in Safari (web browser by default on iPhone/iPad)?

Does look like this in Safari on your iPad/iPhone?

Apple iOS apps (Safari, Mail, iBooks, etc) and many other third-party PDF viewers do not support the PDF portfolio.

The cover page of PDF portfolio (as shown in the screenshot above) appears when a PDF Viewer cannot display the contents of the portfolio.  In addition, please note that portfolios PDF with Adobe Flash content cannot be displayed on iOS devices.  (Because Apple has never failed Adobe Flash Player to be made available for iOS.)

If a PDF portfolio contains no Flash content, it is possible to use the feature of "open in" iOS to open it in Adobe Reader for iOS.

Please let us know if you have any questions about PDF portfolio on iOS.

    Thank you.

  • Links, Hanging Apps: An overview of solutions

In recent days, several solutions were offered to solve or partially mitigate this problem. I suffer from this problem greatly on my iPhone, my iPad seems to be affected.

Many blame the Booking.com app for iOS and how he made use of the link to Apple service.

Some reports say Booking.com used a large file that contains all of the URLS that are supposed to open in the application, rather than in a browser. This overwhelmed file link service Active Apple and is causing this issue, because it is suspended the service and does not Safari or pass the link on the App or open itself.  While app Booking.com may have something to do with it, I installed it on my iPad Pro and it is not affected by this problem and my iPhone 6 which has been restored and removed from the App in question before the restoration continues to be affected. so I'm not totally convinced, is the culprit.

So here's an overview of the solutions that I've met so far, from the simplest to the most complicated,

    1 reset the iPhone.

This one is the easiest, simply to hold on the House and the power / sleep buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds or until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let the iPad or the iPhone reboot and test. Some have reported success with this. It did nothing for me.

    2 disable Javascript.

Go to settings-> advanced-> Safari-> Javascript and turn off the power.  This has actually worked for me, however, it makes many quite useless sites and you end up having to go back and turn it on, update the site and then on the road whenever you need to type on another link.  He very quickly gets tiring. But it works in Safari, but does nothing for other applications such as the Mail App.

    3. use another browser. Chrome lets you open the link if you hold down the key and press 'open in a new tab '. This new very little for other applications such as the Mail App however.   Also, the Opera browser works in fact directly. Links work very well with no workaround required.

    4. remove the app Booking.com or other similar applications (and wait an hour).  It did not work for me at all. The app is no longer installed on the iPhone, and there still the issue, while at the same time, the application is installed on the iPad, and she has not any problems.

    5. restore the iPhone. or the iPad. I also made it through iTunes, and the question always arises. I restore from a backup made before I restore, so the question may be given as a backup location. But I can't afford to simply not having all my data back in place.

    6. replace in factory without a backup state. Several successes in relation to this issue. But I have not tried, because I need my job data. So can't really start from scratch,

    7. the more complicated one so far:

    https://infinitediaries.NET/how-to-fix-iOS-9-x-safarimail-link-bug/

A lot of steps, and if you miss one or change one it may not work. Have not gotten one yet due to its multiple steps involved and this time.

For now all we can do is wait for Apple to release a patch it seems. I hope it's useful for those who suffer from it.

    Thanks for posting this, Phil...

This is similar to your step 7 above. I would hesitate to try as well.

  • Custom Android library

    Hey everybody,

I am preparing an existing custom library to an application for the Android version iOS. My first step was plopping the existing library in an Android application, waiting for a wobbly, but work experience. Instead, I get the error of bridge you'd get if you tried to open a custom in desktop Safari Library.

Any ideas what I'm missing here? (And Yes, I have the entire file, not the zipped folder level).

    Thank you

    -Scott

Also make sure you have the latest DevNet .js files. You cannot simply use the iOS store custom JavaScript file, there were many updates made to make it work on iOS, Android, and Windows.
