  Do you mean the videos that play you in Windows Media Player, or videos that you view in a browser, from sources online?

  If you mean online videos played through the browser, then the reason of they stop has to do with the speed of the internet connection that you are using, and how long your computer is buffering videos. Basically, the video plays faster, then data is downloaded and stored while it freezes while downloading catches up. On Youtube and similar sites, you might be able to get around this by pausing the video for a few minutes at the beginning, to give him a head start on the download. Or see the video twice: the second about must be smooth, because the data has already been stored.
  Now, if you mean videos has played in Media Player directly from your hard drive, I have no idea why he would do that. :)

  You can download the installer for OS X directly from Oracle. Be sure to uncheck everything installs 'optional' which can appear at the beginning (I think on Windows it wants to install McAfee trial or the toolbar Bing - not really malware, more as desired and useless crud-ware).  I have a course Java JRE install on my MacBook Pro retina like some internal tools we have developed to work are currently java and I use a tool of u. Toronto called CytoScape is Java.  Sites Web will use Java Script, a very different beast and does not require a full Java or JRE install.  But with Java/JRE installed, just be sure of the source of any software that you download and install that is java based (as you should with all the software that you put on your machine).

  When I run the file .htm published for a flash project, I find myself with a gray screen and a spinning wheel that says: 'Loading... '. ", but will not play the file.

• Update Flash, now Safari 9 will not much play videos

  I have updated Flash for 20.0.0.267 on my Early 2011 17 "MacBook Pro (10.10.5)." Now on many web pages, Safari, (9.0.2) will not play videos. He will take care of them and I can see that SHOULD play, even scroll through the videos and see photos of different places in the videos, but no amount of press Play/Pause will get the video to PLAY.

  YouTube and Facebook videos seem to play Ok. But other sites, no. I thought it might be the Flash update, but to test it, I downloaded Chrome and videos that are "stuck" plays not not in the fine Chrome Safari game. In the Safari preferences under Advanced I unchecked "Stop plug-ins to save energy. Made no difference. In the Flash Player settings under Advanced, I deleted 'data and browser settings '. It made no difference.

  Anyone know what is happening? How to fix?

• Media Player will not stop playing when the close button is hit.

  My media player works fine until I try to close. When I watch a video clip, I make sure that I have 'stop' the clip before I "close" (the little red button with an X in it, which is suppose to close the program) the player or clip will continue to play in the background. If I brings up the Task Manager, it will display no programs running, I can still here the clip and I'm going to start > all programs > media player always plays the same clip. It is not suppose to do this right? If it is then how can I change so it 'close' media player?

  The issue is actually with Shockwave Flash Player. Sometimes the Flash Player remains running even after Firefox was closed. I'll try to uninstall flash player.

  YouTube should work in HTML5 mode without flash player. I suggest to try on the web without flash player and then only install flash player if it seems that you really need. These days most sites work just fine without flash.
