iOS 9.3.1 auto deletes all text messages

I recently updated my iPhone 5 16 GB iOS 9.3.1. It resulted in all messages of text being removed from the Messages app.

The phone was low on space so I thought that the problem could be due to a lack of space.

I also noticed that all the new text messages are deleted after a few hours.

I've now updated my phone to an iPhone SE 64 GB (which is also iOS 9.3.1).

However, all new text messages I get are always deleted after a few hours.

Also incoming messages creates all notifications even if the parameters see be OK

When upgrading to the new I restored a backup of the previous phone to iCloud

I checked the message parameters and 'Keep the Messages' is set to 'Forever '.

I also tried to disable iMessage, but this has no effect.

I can live with losing old text messages and there are a lot of tips online on extracting of backups.

However, I really need to fix this problem for all new messages

If this has been resolved? I have the same problem too. Just upgraded my wife 5 to 9.3.1 iOS iPhone (16GB) and all the old text messages have been deleted and new create notifications and deleted. All settings have been properly verified. I have hard to started, several times without a bit of luck. This is absolutely unacceptable.

It is not possible to delete all the messages in your Apple Watch at the same time.

    To delete messages:

-On your watch, open messages (via the home screen, accessible via a simple press on the digital Crown) > when you view the list of conversation, by sweeping left on a conversation > tap Delete / Trash.

  • Delete multiple text Messages?

Search here and elsewhere but do not find an answer to my question. On previous Motorola phones, I could delete multiple text messages in just long-pressing the specific text message in a thread... then tapping each additional I wanted to delete... and then selecting delete. This way I could whittle down some long threads.

However, since I got my Verizon Moto X, it seems that the only way to remove any message text is either one-at-a-time, or all of the text don't thread at once... no more the ability to choose several text messages in a thread to delete several at once? I forgot something, or a simple feature common sense has been removed?

My question is not focus on deleting a thread complete or using the default value for a maximum number of messages to be automatically deleted (i.e. the maximum of 500). Its more specific to trimming/weeding out text messages in a thread in the messaging app.

  • Why have I not more option when you try to delete a text message?

I have an iPhone 6 and I can't delete a text message when I want to. If I go to a specific message and keep it pressed, the only option I get is exemplary. There is no other option. Why and how to fix it?

    Vickie Turley

Nevermind, I found the answer. Go to the actual conversation. You cannot start typing their name and make appear old conversations, but find their names on your phone and go into that. Then more option appears.

  • BlackBerry Z10 how delete individual text messages?

Is there a way to delete individual text messages?  It should be added that if it is not possible, you should not have to remove your whole conversation if you only want a single message deleted text.

Someone at - it a response?

    Thank you!

Yes you can. Just hold your finger on the intended message deleted about 3 seconds, you will see a menu of options open to your right screen with an icon of the trash downstairs.

This deletes only the selected message and not the entire conversation.

    I hope this helps!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones cannot delete the text message

I can't delete a text message from my 8830, although I tried several times.  The SMS folder "no message" appears and the message box displays "no message", but on the main screen, the message always appears under the banner of message.  Any suggestions?

Try to remove the battery with the phone on, wait 30 seconds, then replace the battery. Let us know if it suits it.

  • IPhone 5 upgraded to ios9.3.1 now lost all text messages, don't get any notification, stuck "send".

I've recently upgraded to IOS9.3.1 (previously on the much earlier version but can not remember which) with the help of iphone 5.

Several questions now all related messages

    (1) all messages have disappeared and brand-new only stay a few hours and then disappear voluntarily (set of parameters for keep forever)

    (2) no alert of working the front desk of all new messages (change the sounds, verified notifications are on)

    (3) when to send messages (imessage and text) state bar 1 mailing of... forever - never goes away until the message has disappeared from the list of messages.

Before upgrading to IOS 9 I saved on the PC and I think than icloud

I tried the following things most of them several times.

    turn off...

verified notifications are on in the settings, messages, notifications,

    turned I message on

Reset all settings (more then once)

restored from backup of the computer just before the upgrade - don't know how to restore from an earlier backup if this is possible or to find out if I have a backup in icloud.

Please help, I'm at my wits end resources, used to use e-mail all the time and now completely useless.  Please not jargon and clear instructions for any problems I'm not an Apple expert.

    Thank you

    Hi Karen,.

I have exactly the same problems since I've updated the software on my iphone 5 c. 9 days since your post, you have a bit of luck to solve the problem?

I tried something similar to yourself:

    (1) rebooted the phone (several times)

    (2) to reset all the settings of the phone a couple of times

    (3) enabled i-message and SMS messages and turn off many times.

Everything else looks good, what about my contacts, applications, history calls, e-mail, etc. Just the text messaging application. I see my stock of the iphone that I have
have 140 MB of messages somewhere, but do not appear to be visible.

I was told by Apple via DM on Twitter Support to do a full backup and restore of my phone, to completely erase all the data and settings, effectively
become a 'new' phone again with the factory settings. I hope to try to avoid this if possible option. Am due to an update of the phone, so think I might
just get a new phone if I end up having to do a full restore in any way.

    Thank you

  • deleting several text messages

  • BlackBerry Z30 cannot delete some text messages

I sent around 30-40 text messages for several hours and was able to remove most of the answers, but I have 3 which will not delete. Interestingly, these 3 were all sent to a few minutes of each other.

I tried to reboot, reload the hub, to put an end to the conversation from inside the message, but I can't seem to remove.

I'm on the latest - stable version should I recharge BB10 from scratch or perhaps wait for the next update? Is there a low level method to delete these messages?

    Thank you.

I would have thought that restart your phone and refreshing the hub would do the trick. I can't think of any other method of low level that resolve. But I usually jump right in suggesting a refill of OS because I think it is a good idea to reload your current (or new) OS every few months so maybe I'm not the best guy to get advice on this subject.

    See you soon.
