iOS data 9.3 orientation photos

I found a problem when transferring grouped to Wordpress 4.5.2 photos taken with an iPhone 6 Plus. Each picture taken upwards to 2 April 2016 loads with the correct orientation. But since that time (and I think it's when I've upgraded to iOS 9.3) are frequent but incompatible orientation problems. These have persisted with iOS 9.3.1 and 9.3.2 (my current version).

All images displayed in a correct on the iPhone itself orientation and Windows 10. But many are rotated about 180 degrees, 90 degrees, when transferred to Wordpress.

My guess is that there could be a problem with the EXIF that are parsed correctly by other platforms, but not Wordpress. It would be boring fight whose work it takes to fix it, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed such change since iOS 9.3. Given that everything worked fine before (and I was looking at hundreds of photos here), it would be too difficult for Apple to recognize what might be changed to stop what is happening?

I do not use Wordpress, but FWIW I have not noticed problems during the orientation of the photo with my devices iOS (on 9.3.2) or web services that I use. Don't not to discuss, but it may be useful to ask Wordpress on this subject as well and see what they advise. Just another data point...

    OK, thanks for sharing.

    Maybe you can provide clarification comments on what happens when you try and what troubleshooting steps you did.

  • change the date on the imported photos

    I added & appoint my 175 GB of photos by digital date.  My catalogue includes a good number of photos scanned from the "old days".  To save space HARD drive on my iMac, I import photos photos as referenced photos, but they import according to the date of the analysis of the name I had given him and not and when I look at my Photos, analyzed those peaks are scattered everywhere.  I plan to remove all the photos in my pictures and then re-import them.  Is it possible to set the time of creation of an entire folder to reflect when they were actually taken vs when they have been digitized?

    You can select several photos in pictures for Mac at a time. Then use "Set Date and Time" in the picture menu.

    This setting of the selected photos capture date and time by the same fixed increment change.

    It works well, if the selected photos have been scanned roughly at the same time.  So, choose photos that were analyzed at the same time to adjust.

    If you have a photo album with a variety of scanning of the dates, but want to put all the photos on the same fixed date, use an Apple script. I posted a script in the section user Tip (Photos for Mac) that I use for my scans, see: batch Change Date and time on a fixed Date

  • Same Date for all the photos in the photo gallery

    I have over 4,000 photos in the Gallery Windows. I tried to change a group of photos at a time and I accidentally changed them all on the same date. RESTORATION running did not re-establish my photos of the original date.

    Hi a Cubs fan.

    The only option is to use previous versions to restore files to the folder that contains the photos.

    (a) right click on the file or folder and then click restore previous versions.

    (b) click on an item in the list, and then click restore.

    Only editions Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise and Windows Vista Ultimate Edition supports previous versions of files.

    Some pictures, most Don t of open pictures work?

    All taken by Nikon D800 and imported on the iPad.

    I Don t know where the difference between the photos?

    Perhaps, there is a limit of size of the photo?

    Who can help?

    Greetings

    Dirk

    Hi Dirk,

    Sorry for the inconvenience. Due to the current limit of memory size of iPads, mix PS decided to support only less than 20 mega pixels images.

    Let me know if you have other questions about the size of the image. Thank you very much for your support mix PS.

  • Cannot reset the dates of the digitized photos

    Can anyone help?

    After I search for old photos in the Organizer in Photoshop Elements 6, I have always change the date of the photo to the effective date or year where she was taken. (Edit/set Time/Set Date and time)

    Incredibly frustrating, is that for each photo, if I type in the year (1955), the screen set the Date and time always record like a year earlier (1954). (I have type the correct data, and then close the form.) If I return to the screen, I discover he's changed incorrect data.) The same incorrect year appears in the EXIF metadata saved with the photo.

    If I type in the year and month (for example, December 1965), the Set Date display always will record it as a month early (November). Yet once, the incorrect month appears in the EXIF data.

    If I type in the year, month and day (November 16, 1983), it will be saved as a day earlier (15 Nov).

    ONLY if I specify the TIME the photo was taken (in addition to the day, month and year) it will record correctly. But of course with most of the old photos, the time (and even the day and month) are often not known.

    Does anyone have an idea what is happening here? It drives me crazy.

    Thank you very much.

    Don

    PS: Is it possible to gang - write Notes to photos. I often put something in the section Notes under properties a photo in the Organizer, but I see no way of putting the same note with several photos: I end up having laboriously copy the same note in each photo, one at a time.

    Sorry, I didn't explain that very clearly, I'll try again.

    The bug to set the Date and time is not prevent you enter the date you want is saved in the catalog.

    Whenever you call Edit > set the Date and time and together a date and time, even if you set some unknown fields, he correctly recorded in the catalog fields date and time, you see in the command window.  If you call adjust the Date and time on a photo that has already been defined to have so many unknown areas, then a bug causes the date fields in the command window to be incorrectly pre-filled.  However, if you then change these fields to the correct values and then on OK, they get properly registered in the catalog.

    For example, suppose that you analyze a file this morning.  The time will be 19/12/2009-08:21.  You then call adjust the Date and time and assign to the year 1970, month of May and the days to '? (and the time will be automatically set to unknown).   And then you click OK.  The date in the catalogue will be 5/1970 (with the day and unknown time). You call then adjust the Date and time again, and the year is already indicated in the window command in 1970, but the month is incorrectly pre-filled-APR (this is the bug).  If you click Cancel, the date in the catalogue remains unchanged at 5/1970.  If instead you change the month in May and then click OK, the command window, the date in the rest to 5/1970 catalogue.  Or if you change the year 1972 and the month of July, and then click OK< the="" date="" in="" the="" catalog="" will="" get="" changed="" to="">

  • Built-in dictionary does not not iOS 9.3.4 (with photos)

    I just bought my Pro 9.7 "iPad yesterday so that I can use it when classes will resume. I read a scientific paper when I discovered that the "Define" function in iBooks was not working. It is same for Safari, Notes, E-mail and other applications where you can select and set a text.

    Curiously, the dictionary in my iPhone 5 s (running iOS 9.3.4) works perfectly.

    Please help me solve this problem.

  • Photos poorly oriented when pulled from filepicker

    In my application I allow users to take a photo or select an image using the filepicker.  But when she shows the images in an imageView that they appear on the side and never in the correct position, no matter if they were taken without focus lock, or whatever.  When I invoke the display of images, howeverm images are always perfectly oriented.

    Is there anything I can do in my code to accommodate for this?  Orientation is off differently isn't tlike it's always oritented left, sometimes it's to the right, sometimes it is upside down, sometimes it's to the left.

    Hello

    I know exactly what is happening - I'm working on an app photo from last year, and I had the same problem.

    When the camera takes a photo, it adds some EXIF metadata in the JPEG file that indicates its "focus".

    In my opinion, the BB should add an ImageView option such as "autoOrient" so that it would automatically read and the picture rotates as appropriate before posting, but I don't think such a property exists. Thus, all the developers who want to display pictures must add this logic to their App (inefficient or what?)

    The good news is that there is a sample application that shows how to do this.  Take a look at the sample application "photobomber.

    I'll copy and paste the relevant code here:

    QImage PhotoBomberApp::getRotateImage(const QString imageFilePath)
    {
        //Load the image using QImage.
        QImage image = QImage(imageFilePath);

        ExifData *exifData = 0;
        ExifEntry *exifEntry = 0;
        int exifOrientation = 1;

        // Since the image will loose its exif data when its opened in a QImage
        // it has to be manually rotated according to the exif orientation.
        exifData = exif_data_new_from_file(imageFilePath.toLatin1().data());

        // Locate the orientation exif information.
        if (exifData != NULL) {
            for (int i = 0; i < EXIF_IFD_COUNT; i++) {
                exifEntry = exif_content_get_entry(exifData->ifd[i], EXIF_TAG_ORIENTATION);

                // If the entry corresponds to the orientation it will be a non zero pointer.
                if (exifEntry) {
                    exifOrientation = exif_get_short(exifEntry->data, exif_data_get_byte_order(exifData));
                    break;
                }
            }
        }

        // A transform will be used to rotate the image according to device and exif orientation.
        QTransform transform;

        qDebug() << "Exif data:" << exifOrientation;

        // It's a bit tricky to get the correct orientation of the image. A combination of
        // the way the the device is oriented and what the actual exif data says has to be used
        // in order to rotate it in the correct way.
        switch(exifOrientation) {
            case 1:
                // 0 degree rotation
                break;
            case 3:
                // 180 degree rotation
                transform.rotate(180);
                break;
            case 6:
                // 90 degree rotation
                transform.rotate(90);
                break;
            case 8:
                // 270 degree rotation
                transform.rotate(270);
                break;
            default:
                // Other orientations are mirrored orientations, do nothing.
                break;
        }

        // Perform the rotation of the image before its saved.
        image = image.transformed(transform);

        return image;
    }

    This code returns you a QImage, so you can or may not know how, then take that and display them in an ImageView. Incase it's useful, here's an example of my application relating to this code:

    QImage thisQImage = getRotateImage(...);

    bb::ImageData imageData = bb::ImageData::fromPixels(thisQImage.rgbSwapped().bits(), bb::PixelFormat::RGBX, thisQImage.width(), thisQImage.height(), thisQImage.bytesPerLine());

    bb::cascades::Image cascadesImage = imageData;

    imageView->setImage(cascadesImage);

    A final caveat is that doing each of these conversions between types of image data takes a little time, and so if you do it in the main thread of the application, you might or might not slow down the user interface.  I tried to move my loading image in another thread when it is possible, although I found (I think) the conversion in bb::cascades:Image does not work correctly if this isn't in the main thread, so I don't have this part and call setImage in the main thread.

    Hope that helps. Here the answer was simpler.

  • I deleted all my photos from my iPhone 6 s but still taking 3.1 GB of data

    I have an I-phone, 6s and I downloaded all my photos then removed manually from my I-phone, but they always show my photos that use 3.1 GB of data on my phone. How to update or delete or anything else I should do to make more room on my phone of the data being used for photos that are no longer on the phone? Help I have tried all suggestions with no luck.

    After you make sure that you have saved all your photos on your computer, make sure that iCloud library is DISABLED on your iPhone. Then go to the album recently deleted photos on the iPhone and remove all the images from there.
