  I connect to Internet through LAN.  My printer is connected to my pc through USB.  I do not use of wireless.

  I did not any changes to software or driver.

  I read through many solutions in this forum and tried several.  I disabled my firewall and antivirus first.  None of them have worked. I tried the SCLiteFix_299026.exe, the missing persons files difficult.  Did not work.  When I try to uninstall the printer and reinstall, I can't do that either.  I get error 2503 and 2502.

  I want to just my printer wizard to work and have been unable to find a solution.

  Maybe not all of these steps were necessary, but here's what I did and it worked! :

  (1) open HP Support Assistant icon on desktop.  It is a white question mark in a blue circle.

  (2) HP Support Assistant should show all HP devices.  Find your printer and click on UPDATES.  (Mine had no updates pending, but I clicked on UPDATE anyway)

  3) click on Diagnostics and tools

  4) click on HP print and Scan doctor.  Select your printer and click NEXT

  (5) you will get DIFFICULTY PRINTING and SCANNING of DIFFICULTY.  I chose the DIFFICULTY of ANALYSIS

  (6) when he finished, a screen opens and says "If you still have problems with your product, here are a few options for additional support.   Physically, I removed the printer cable to the USB port and choose "UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL with the latest version of the software".  I wasn't expecting to work, but he did.

  (7) I rebooted.  When my pc came, I began to other programs or applications.  I have disabled the firewall software and anti-virus temporarily.

  (8) I have re-inserted cable printer to a USB port

  (9) I open the HP Envy 7640 installation disc and click with the right button on the file: E7640x64.msi.  I clicked on install

  (10) software installed without error.  I then went to my office, clicks on the icon HP ENVY 7640 series... and VOILA!  My Printer Wizard now works!

  (11) I turned on my firewall and anti-virus back and I'm IN business

  1. Go to settings-> devices-> devices
  2. Click the Device Manager link at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Open "printers".
  4. Then uninstall/remove the "unknown device" if present.
  5. Restart Windows 10 update.

  I have a distinctive ring on my line. I trained the fax to recognize the correct fax ring. The problem is that when a fax arrives, it is not meet and receive but (on screen) asks me to accept the fax? What happens if a fax comes in the middle of the night. I won't be there to accept it.

  I don't know if I should choose or auto answer (in the Fax preferences) off the coast .

  I would logically assume that if I set the automatic answer on IT, if distinctive ring is detected, he would answer the fax.

  I don't know why it would make a difference rings how I choose, if it detects the distinctive ring, because he must accept the fax when it 'hears' distinctive ring, no matter how many rings is selected.   I understand that you have a problem when printing envelopes from your Windows 7 computer to your HP ENVY 7640 e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help you today with correct this print error "Photo tray". To start I have to make sure that the envelope is correctly loaded in your troubleshooting paper tray. Once you have confirmed that your envelope is loaded OK we'll take a look at the envelope to print on your computer settings. Can I please you follow the steps below.

  Step 1: Load the paper:

  To begin troubleshooting, please click here. Once the support document opens, please select the drop down list for "load envelopes. Please see the instructions on the screen to ensure that your envelope is correctly loaded in the paper tray. Once you have confirmed that your envelope is loaded correctly, proceed to the next step.

  Step 2: Check the print settings:

  Below I will provide you with instructions for printing envelopes per word. You should use a different program on your computer to print envelopes, please respond to this post with the program that you are using so I can provide specific measures.

  1. Open Word and click mail merge to top
  2. Select "envelopes" in the upper left side
  3. A page of envelopes and labels should now open. Enter your delivery and return address.
  4. Select 'Options' on the lower right
  5. Under the tab 'Options for envelopes' to ensure that your envelope is correctly selected.
  6. Select the 'Print Options' tab at the top. You must now select as appropriate feeding method for your product.
  7. Make sure that you choose the option "Face down".
  8. Also ensure that 'right-hand Rotation' is selected
  9. At the bottom of the window, select the drop-down list of pet food
  10. Make sure that the feeding method is set to main tray rather then select automatically
  11. Press 'OK' and 'Print'.

  My Smart touch HP Envy 23 - product # #ABL and series H5Q63AA # 3CR32602KL and model # 23 - d239c was bought at Costco, a month ago. Today working away when the background of the screen from a model like drops of rain. I turned off the unit and rebooted. The computer now displays a File: \BCD error 0xc0000098 Code and then turns off. I tried to go through the diagnostic menus and any recovery. I managed to make a backup of the disc before it completely crashed. I tried reformatting in recovery option and now the computer does not start long enough to work on it. It closes right down. Should I take this unit back to Costco?

Recovery will begin. If recovery window select Restore Factory of CD. Track order promts. Windows 8, you will have to look to see how to get into the bios, so the computer boots from the cd.

  I would like to take back and Exchange. It is an error boot starting. Still doesn't explain not discolored screen which is another matter and especially replacement cost of material likely to expesive. This is the motherboard card, Touchsmart screen or chart Assembly is bad. When you get an error in the boot system my guess, it's the motherboard.

  Up-to-date computers are made in mass production with no pride in execution. Less that it did not ignite as my brand new HP Pavilion DV7t-7000CTO Plug and it works straight out of the box.   Whenever I change the paper (photo paper) when I get back to paper ordinary, it is immediately past offline or it gets stuck in the queue.  Now it is stuck in the queue.  Is it possible to get this printer to print without all these problems.  I am extremely illiterate on computers and this crazy.

  From what I've read, it could be a number of things that went on the wall. Issue of dead hard drive, BIOS, peripheral USB plugged when starting, etc.

  You can follow the steps provided and check.

  Check the VSS service. Follow these steps:

  a. Click Start and type services.msc in the search box.

  b. Locate the VSS service and make sure that the startup type is automatic.

  i. right click on the service

  II. If the service is stopped, then start the service

  III. Select Properties

  IV. and in startup type, select automatic.

  c. click Ok.

  Printer locked up - line said that the printer's paper (not) and it was offline (no). I unplugged, restarted the computer and the printer. Followed all the basic troubleshooting tips and stupidly the suggestion to reset all printers. Big mistake, now zero printers happen when I try to add. The search option does not either.   I read on your desire 7640 does not although you receive an "Out of Paper" error, the printer showed as 'offline' and currently cannot add printer on your Mac with 10.7.

  Here's what I would recommend. Try troubleshooting the equipment first, because if there is a problem with the unit, this will lead to software problems and troubleshooting cycle can get tedious.

  1. power reset the printer and make sure the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

  Turn on the printer.
  With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
  Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  Wait at least 15 seconds.
  Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
  If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

  2. try to make a copy of the front of the printer. If the work of copies successfully, go to step 3, if the copies do not work, tell me what happens when you try to make them as there is most likely a hardware problem.

  3. from your Mac:

  1. Reset the printing system
  2. Repair disk permissions
  3. Restart the Mac.
  4. Click on this link to download and install the full features and software driver: HP ENVY 7640 e-all-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers
  5. Print from text editing and other test applications and also try to scan from HP Scan/HP Utility.
