  I don't see any real alternative to return to the manufacturer of the system. Even if it is simply a bug in the validation system, the original owner of the product key, it is the only one who knows what can happen to her.   To skip the activation of sim card, you can use iTunes if you have a CDMA iPhone. However, if you have a GSM model you will need to insert a sim card to activate your iPhone (it can even be used/inactive).   To get the orange FF tab, go to view > toolbars > menu bar. This should uncheck the menu bar giving you the orange button.

  What, in particular, looking to sync with the Mac iCloud? If you mean things like Contacts, calendars, Notes, etc., then you want to go in under the  system preferences, click the iCloud and connect to iCloud there with your iCloud ID. Then select which items you want to sync'd via iCloud.
