iPhone asking a password 4 digit but I use a 6 digit code

Hello

I've implemented a code 6 digit when I upgraded to iOS 9 back in September. When I woke up this morning and tried to unlock my phone using the key ID, my phone (iPhone 6) requested a password, but it requires a password 4 digit. My old password 4 digit does not work and I can't enter a 6-digit. IOM pretty certain that I have not touched a single setting related to the code of access since September. Right now my phone is pretty useless, because I tried if it could solve the problem and now my SIM card is also blocked.

Is it possible to unlock the phone, or do I need to restore it via iTunes?

Thank you!

Hello there, nakatauren.

It seems that your iPhone is asking for a password instead of the 6 digit code 4-digit, sure you set it and now you are unable to enter the password required to unlock. The options you have for restoring your device offers the following Knowledge Base article:

If you have forgotten the password for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

If you enter the wrong password to an iOS device six times in a row, you will be locked out and a message that says that your device is turned off.

Choose a way to erase your device

Unless you make a backup before that you forgot your password, there is not a way to record the data on your device. You will need to erase your device, which erases all your data and settings. Choose a way to erase:

  • If you have synced with iTunes, use iTunes.
  • If you are connected to iCloud and Find My iPhone is enabled, use iCloud.
  • If you do not use iCloud and you cannot synchronize or connect with iTunes, use the recovery mode.

Thank you for reaching out to the communities of Apple Support.

Kind regards.
