iPhone iPhone 4 6 s migration

HI guys,.

I own an iPhone 4 16 GB running iOS 7.1.2 and must be upgraded to an iPhone 6. All my data are saved on the computer and iCloud. Am having a problem synchronization and backup of the data of Whatsapp to the cloud. My question is if I set up the new phone and click on restore from a backup, iTunes will restore all the data from the old phone to the new? In addition, any solution to the problem backup whatsapp? It continues spinning and backup ever! I have more than enough space in the cloud.

Your help will be greatly appreciated. I'm waiting for your answers.

See you soon,.

Mel.

Don't know cause of WhatsApp eccentricities I use not too strongly, but to a migration of the complete device you will need your computer, the latest version of iTunes installed on it (which you seem to have) and two phones. Configure iTunes to store the backup locally on the hard drive WITH PASSWORD (very important for all the personal details get too backed up). Also set to be stored in the local library all apps, music, photos, movies, etc. Have the apps in there is crucial when the food they and their data gets put back in place. When everything is placed and well, synchronize the old phone, watch the bar of progress so everything gets backed up (intermediate steps 6 to 8).

Then pick up the phone brand new and not configured, connect with iTunes running and choose to restore from this backup when prompted on the computer. If you had already started it upward, wipe (settings / general / reset / erase content and settings) and start the m crept out of the box.

Keep the old phone until you are satisfied with the migration succeeded. Can always do it again until you get it right, as long as you have the original phone to work with, a new can be erased and reloaded until it is right.

Been there, done that. 4 iPhones, 3 iPads already. In all cases, the new finished device identical to its predecessor, to the same provisions of screen.

  • historic transfer of activity health the new iPhone

I bought an iPhone 7 and all restored my iPhone backup date 6 through Mac. But history of activity in health has not been transferred.

How can I migrate data activity health iPhone IPhone 7 6?

I've accumulated all these activity data for two years and I am extremely disappointed that the new activity of health iPhone is empty.

It seems you need to do a backup encrypted on the Mac (or via iCloud) for your activity data to be transferred (as well as WiFi and other parameters).

    Hello

Im sure that these questions have been answered before, but I would be very grateful for any quick answer please.

Then someone gave me a new iPhone from my provider to replace my current one and I think that I will most likely accept the offer. In this respect do I just need to backup my iphone on iTunes and then when I boot the new iphone for the first time select the option "restore iphone" in order to ensure the same things that I have on my current iphone will appear on my new? Assuming this is correct is iTunes also backup apps?

  • Problem setting iPhone 6s in iTunes

I recently bought a 6 s.  The seller took care of the transfer / setup from my 5s, all migrate above. Today, about a month later, I plug it into my iMac iTunes for the first time in order to safeguard, in sync, etc.  I am given two options: set it up as a new iPhone or restore of my last 5 backup s.  Choose set upward as a new iPhone wipe it and force me to have to reinstall?  If Yes, then restaurant since the 5 latest's backup (fortunately done just before buying the new phone) only lead me to lose what I've added in the last month?  Or y at - it another option? Thank you.

Implementation as new will wipe the iPhone.

Backup restore will restore the backup date, all entries again after that date will be gone.

    There are no other options.

  • Restore the Contacts from Iphone restore

I'm very frustrated by that.  I had to do a total restore my Iphone 5 as a result of an error in the former area software and storage being gone.  I backup of the phone before doing this, but that the backup is worth nothing because to restore the previous backup would return to restore the bug in the software again.  So I basically had to a do a new restoration of the phone and gradually bring only my necessary stuff on the phone.  I can't seem to get the contacts and calendar, that I had to come back and I see on Itunes there is a place to synchronize those.  Still when I sync them they are not restored.  My contacts have some inside information, but lack of contacts.  Those who are there are missing phone # s and addresses e-mail.   I can see the calendar and contacts that they were originally on my Ipad so I know that they are at least there.  Are not the contacts and calendars supposed to migrate in Icloud and update all my Apple devices (I have a Mac Pro too) so that they are compatible?  If there are some parameters jiving not somewhere I'm lost as to what to do and what devices for all works in harmony.

My plan is to do a backup of my phone after I put everything so that I have a clean backup, that is not a bug in there and has all the correct information.

    Hello heffmonster,

Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important getting your contacts on your iPhone is to you! From what you said, it seems you maybe problems with having the correct accounts added to your iPhone after you restored, since you mentioned that the lack of contacts are on your iPad. You asked if iCloud syncs contacts, and he does, but only those in iCloud. iCloud will not synchronize contacts that are related to other accounts, such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. I check what are the accounts on your iPad and make sure your iPhone has the same ones added correctly. • Events of Aperture on iPhone

So I screwed up really hard, I have synced by iTunes through aperture library photos, but when I came back from my trip this week I just migrated to the photos app and deleted the aperture library. The question I have now is that my photos of Mac events are still on my iPhone but iTunes but I don't know any way to delete the events that I currently have on my iPhone? If I have to delete everything on my phone to get rid of the synchronized events or is there a way that I'm missing?

You can not remove photos synced directly on the iPhone. Resync with iTunes and select a different source - an album in your library of Photos or a folder in your pictures folder or anything. The new synchronization will replace the previously synchronized Phototos.

  • How we prevent 90 GB of photos for iphone sync

    Hello

I don't know that I'm not the only person having this problem.

Seen taking pictures of the last 10 years, I decided to migrate to iCloud, keeping my photos in the cloud and their management through the Photos on my Mac. So far so good. Everything works as expected.

So, I have 90 GB of photos. Not much for the mac. But if I turn on iCloud Photolibrary on my iphone, it will fill up with the photos that I rarely use. Also, I can't afford a 128 GB iPhone just to travel through the photos that I rarely use.

If I DON'T turn on iCloud PhotoLibrary, I have no access to my photo library (it's kind of obvious of course), but every picture I take live and die on the iPhone (and in the Gallery of photos for 30 days) and the only way to synchronize them with the mac is to attach a cable to the phone. Really? During 2016? Where everything is cloud?

Is there a better solution than this all or nothing? For example, store only a thumbnail of each photo on the phone, then the phone will automatically download them on a per-photo basis when you access?

I mean, imagine that you have a 16Gb iPhone. You won't be able to use it with the iCloud except if you only take af a few photos and almost no videos.

Thanks for any idea about that

    Best

    Björn

With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)

Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.

In most cases, optimize your photos should be enough to raise the space related issues on your device. However, if you have an exceptionally large library you may need to disable iCloud photo library on your mobile device and use instead the photo stream. You can then use a computer to manage the photo stream photos and have them automatically imported into you iCloud photo library.

  • Library/iphone iTunes conflict

    Hello

After a lifetime of Windows, I have now a new MacBook pro! (huzzah! should have done years ago)!

Most of my music library was purchased on iTunes for many years, and that seems to be especially when I look through my Macbook. However, many of my precious downloaded albums on my phone, and that Im assuming that include many CDs I have added some years ago and synched from my PC now practically useless.

I want ALL this music on my MacBook, so that when I would finally sync to the phone and the laptop, the main library will be my laptop to manage and control wirelessly on iPhone and iPad.

At the moment, if I sync, Im assuming I'm losing all these hundreds of titles that are on my phone, and they will be replaced by the limited albums on iTunes via my Macbook.

Is it possible to transfer my library of iPhone music to my macbook and not lose these albums?

    Thank you very much

This is how it is intended to make you:

Moving a library: quick response if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/alt key (shift on Windows) keys to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder.  https://support.Apple.com/HT201596

When it comes to a new car/computer put the iTunes folder copied to the default location of Macintosh HD > users > * user name * > music (or home > music) so you don't even have to start with the down option, iTunes will automatically look it there.  (Make sure that it is no anything already in the iTunes folder it that you want to keep because you will replace it with the one you are moving).  Don't forget to authorize computer in iTunes to your Apple ID if you use it to synchronize with Apple devices or play multimedia DRM protected (e.g., movies).

Some elements used in iTunes related activities are not stored in the iTunes library folder, but in special folders.  If you move a library to another computer, you can copy these too:

-Music files Apple cache: http://dougscripts.com/itunes/2015/09/new-flush-apple-music-cache-files/ - ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iTunes/SubscriptionPlayCache/ file, which is a bit like a "iTunes Media" folder for music from Apple

-device iOS, various preferences files backups: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3285925

Windows users see tip to: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18879381#18879381

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not that a transfer backup device and media has been planned with you keep a master copy of your media on a computer that is in itself independently supported against loss.  To use a device with a different configuration, you pass the old library from a computer or a backup directly in the new configuration, not the device to the library. Synchronization of media isn't a way, computer device, update the contents of the device to the content on the computer, update or restore the content on a computer from a device. The exception is media to iTunes Store purchases that can be transferred to a computer.

Re-download or transfer your purchases iTunes Store for the iPhone, iPad or iPod to computer - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201267 - 'this feature only works for content purchased from the iTunes Store. From iOS9 is more apps that now need to be re-downloaded directly from the store.

To transfer other items from an i-device to a computer, you will need to use third-party commercial software.  See this document in turingtest2: recover your iTunes library from your iPod or device iOS - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991 even this method can fully recover what you originally had in the library. For example, in order to save space during synchronization if you had converted music files at a lower rate, or photos at a lower resolution, it is these lower quality files that will pick you up.

If you subscribe to the Apple music, titles that are not part of the content that you have purchased or downloaded may not be transferred and must be downloaded directly from iCloud.
