iPhone Unlocked 5 - which carrier to use?

I have a unlocked IPhone model 5 # A1429 16 GB and need to know what carrier I can activate the phone on... since I'll use prepaid and should get an activation kit & phone SIM which are not refundable I don't want to not buy the hurt and not be able to use it. I did some research and came to the conclusion that this model is CDMA? That would be Verizon, Sprint, etc.. ? But I'm still not 100% sure so any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello

Go to a phone shop asking them to try a SIM card in your iPhone before you buy.

See you soon

    Hi nirtana77,

    That is right.

If your carrier of choice has no 3G coverage where you are, or if the carrier does not support frequencies 3G mentioned above, you will be connected via GSM (2G) network.

If, however, you use a network that supports the above mentioned frequencies and you are in an area where 3G coverage, then you will be connected via HSDPA (3G) network.

I also suggest you contact the carrier network to confirm what radio frequencies are used, because they will be able to provide more accurate and up to date. =)

I hope you find this information useful.

    Thank you

  • Unlock iPhone locked to new carrier after?

I asked that my iPhone unlocked my carrier. They sent me the instructions to unlock the phone, providing that when I unlock my phone and insert the SIM of the new carrier that the phone is locked to this new carrier. Is it really OK? I seem to remember to unlock a previous iPhone and unlocked once it is stayed unlocked.

    Thank you!

N ° once it has been unlocked (legitimately), it has unlocked forever.

  • If I get an unlocked iPhone SE of OUR hand and use it in India, I will be able to in India of maintenance under warranty?

I am currently USA and I plan to buy an iphone unlocked SE (16GB).
But I soon go back to India.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to repair in India under warranty if something is wrong with the phone.

I want to know if I'll be able to operation to maintenance in India?

No - there is no intentional guarantee other than for countries of the EU

Apple in India may refuse to fix a phone bought in the United States

With the differences of band etc. in companies in India - if it's where you spend most of your time, you can consider buying the phone

  • IPhone unlocked in Europe

I want to buy an iphone unlocked SE, but after using it in Europe. Do I have to buy a specific model which ensures the coverage of 4G? If so, how can I know it is available in stores? Thank you!

    Hi Evarujas,

Thanks for posting your question in the communities of Support from Apple. I understand you want to ensure the iPhone you buy will work little wherever you travel. It is important to be able to stay in touch with family and friends no matter where you are and I am pleased to provide you with some information.

I recommend you take a look at the information in the link below. He has a list of which models and carriers support LTE in different countries.

iPhone - country view with support for LTE networks

When you buy an iPhone by AppleSE, the model that you will receive will be determined by the carrier you choose. You'll want to reference information in the article above to determine which carrier US SE model iPhone will also work with services in the country that you want to use.

    Take care!

  • Limitations of the iphone unlocked 6

My iPhone 6 (iOS 9.3.1) was purchased through Tmobile.  I have since put end to this carrier and had them unlock the phone so I can use another carrier (GSM phone).

It is all fine and good.  I have no problem with the new carrier.  However, since then, I can no longer connect to my UVO system in my Kia automobile.

Previously, I would connect via the USB port on the integrated port.  With that, I would be able to launch my Pandora app on the screen of the UVO.  Now, I can't.  In fact, I can't access one of the UVO applications.

My question is for the geniuses of the iPhone very well informed there.  Is there anything known to unlock a (non-usine) cause this?  I have connected 2 other iPhones and they tested OK (including a factory unlocked iPhone SE).

My online research have developed dry.

    Thank you

    Traj

You say that your device is currently on iOS 9.3.1. He was on that iOS and still works with the USB plugin? If it's an older iOS, it is possible that the Kia does not support the most recent iOS. It's quite possible. If it worked with the latest iOS, there is nothing on a release that should affect only. The right unlock code determines which carriers can connect to the phone.

When you mention off factory unlock, I'm guessing that you use the term to describe the fact that it was unlocked on T-Mobile? It is in fact, an authorized release, which should be done through Apple, it's just that it's done by the carrier because they are the only ones who can authorize an unlock. The term factory unlock can be confusing, because it isn't really what some would consider a factory unlock after the fact, just a release authorized. In fact, the factory does not lock the phones, carriers don't, but that's a conversation for another time.

  • Purchase unlocked IphoneSE UK long term use US

I'll buy a SE IPhone in the United Kingdom while here for an extended stay. Then, I'll need to use it permanently to the United States. I shared between the two places. It's better to buy an IPhone unlocked to the Apple store or it be difficulties using it if purchased elsewhere?  I read GiffGaff unblocked really good prices and reliability. This is the plug on GffGaff

    https://www.giffgaff.com/Apple/Apple-iPhone-se/phone-details#specification

I know I can get a SIM in the USA, I read any sim card works in an unlocked IPhone. But I'm not clear on what this means in terms of this list on Apple's site. I understand that this means if I want to have a monthly to the United States with a sim card that I need to think in terms of network use with what model number? Why some sites say a sim card work in an unlocked IPhone, but then this Apple lists some suppliers to work with certain numbers of series etc?

    http://www.Apple.com/iPhone/LTE/

I also read that the first time an iPhone is he used locks on any network you use the first time. Is this true with an unlocked IPhone and that is something that can be switched to the Genius bar in both countries when a local sim card is exchanged. I would be grateful for the latest information on how to smooth the transition between the two countries, and how it would be easy to swap Sim cards when necessary.

    Thank you very much.

    Here's what I know

Do not buy from Carphone Warehouse as the lock of phones to the first carrier, they are enabled on

Apple buying at full price always gets you an unlocked phone

The list on Apple's site lists the suppliers that provide the functionality associated with the phone as iMessage etc. - we have incidents of some posters here being charged for calls for activation as their provider was not an official Apple partner or that they might not use LTE etc.

The Genius bar will not help with SIM locked (locked carrier) phones - you will have to work with the carrier on that one.

  • BlackBerry smartphones which carrier my phone is linked to?

I was just buying a phone BlackBerry NIB off fleabay and inst useful person but said it should work fine as its last 100 clients provided the good reviews 100% without any problems.

I don't know which carrier it's on, the screen started showing only blackberry and then the home screen. How can I check the type of carrier so I can get a contract for her?

It shows BlackBerry 9860 1256 on it and looks like bands on AT & T for some research, I've done on the model RDP71UW Americas English QWERTY shadow grey.

PRD-33124-004 081011 means something? I only had one release on google site.

TIA and this looks like a good day to be... Play with it

For those on OS 7 with a 9860 above is false see if unlocked.

Goto, device, advanced, system settings options SIM card.

Press the BB button and select show keyboard, hold down the SHIFT key locked up for type MEPD uppercase

The help screen worked fine, thanks for that.

It is unlocked so I'm good to go on AT & T.

  • my iphone 4S has lost carrier no service modernized 9.3.5 software but my other 4 s with the same carrier is very well after upgrade

my iphone 4S has lost carrier no service modernized 9.3.5 software but my other 4 s with the same carrier is very well after upgrade

    Hi rog247,

Thanks for posting here in Support of Apple communities! After reading your post, I see that your iPhone 4S shows 'No Service'. It is certainly important to have access to mobile data; I would like to help get this sorted out.

    Please follow the instructions here:

If you see no Service or research

If you see no Service or search on your device, or cannot connect to a cellular network or cellular data, follow these steps:

    1. Check your coverage area to ensure that you are in an area with a cellular network coverage.
      • If you cannot connect to a cellular network on your iPhone, make sure that the cell data is on in settings > cellular*. On your iPad, go to settings > cellular data.
      • If you travel internationally, make sure that your device is set up for data roaming. Go to settings > cellular > data roaming.
    2. Restart your iPhone or iPad.
    3. Looking for a carrier settings update.
    4. Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS.
    5. Remove the SIM card and put it again. If the SIM card is damaged, or does not fit in the drawer of the SIM card, contact your carrier.
    6. Reset your network settings. Tap Settings > general > reset > reset network settings. This also resets the Wi - Fi networks and passwords, cell parameters and VPN and APN settings you used before.
    7. If you have another device, see if you can connect your business with her network to this place.
    8. Contact your operator for:
      • Make sure your account is active and in good and due form.
      • Make sure that there are no failures in your area.
      • Verify that your device is not blocked to receive cellular services and is set up with the right data plan.

If you still cannot connect to a cellular network and have confirmed with your carrier is not a problem with your account, or your network, try to restore your device.

If you cannot connect to a cellular network or cellular data - Apple Support

  • An iPhone Unlocked verizon 7 will work with the T-Mobile network?

I expect to buy an iPhone 7. I am currently using T-Mobile, but I'll probably use CDMA-based network when I spend my winter in China. Anyone know if an iPhone Unlocked verizon 7 will support the T-Mobile network? Thank you very much

If you look at the following:

    http://www.Apple.com/iPhone/LTE/

iPhone 7 seems to have 2 different CDMA models:

    model A1660 (CDMA) iPhone 7

model A1661 (CDMA) iPhone 7 more

and 2 different models of GSM:

    Model A1778 iPhone 7

    Model A1784 iPhone 7 more

My guess is that the models of Verizon (CDMA) do not work on the T-Mobile GSM network. Data connection does not work at least LTE. Not sure about the voice. T-Mobile and AT & T models may support data LTE in both networks.
