iPhoto OSX 10.85 accident

I'm still in Mountain Lion OSX 10.85, iPhoto 9.4.3, when you open iPhoto, it crashes instantly if the 'info' window is open.  I'm told Apple support that it is due to a conflict with iPhoto and Google Maps, the only way of do not experience the crash is to unplug my internet access when you use the application. And Yes, it works... but still, is there not another way? I do not use the feature locations on one of the photos, is there a way to disable something so that I can still use the app as before?

I install El Capitan on an external drive to try it and see if everything works under him, but still. .   This has never been a problem in the past. Appreciate any other thoughts. Sometimes Apple support is not all the answers.

Thank you

The first versions of iPhoto 11 started to plant for many users suddenly last month.

There is a problem with the functionality of the site, because Google maps will no longer be supported.

Re: iPhoto crashes after opening several times in reply to carvermon Useful

I found a solution that works for me...

1 goto /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/Resources

2 delete the files 'googlemap.html' and googlesearch.html

IPhoto no longer crashes, site does not work, but it doesn't bother me too much.

Let me know if it works for you guys...

Deletes two files "googlemap.html" and the googlesearch.html of iPhoto application bundle prevents the JavaScript running inside and causing the accident.  Log of course do the same thing. So it's pretty clear that something happened at the end of Google.

To access the files inside the iPhoto application select it in the Finder and ctrl-click on it. Then use the command "Show Package Contents" from the menu.  Open the content subfolder and then resources.

Do not try this fix without making a copy of the iPhoto application before trying to delete the two files of the entire application.

I bought a HP Photosmart 6521 today, part of the family 652 x.  I set up via the USB cable on my old Mac that is running Leopard 10.7.  The printer software is automatically downloaded and the printer set up like a dream.  Wifi link to my Wifi network configuration.  Can print from my new toptop running OSX10.9 no problem.  Problem is that I can find a print option on the laptop that allows me to choose the phototray.  I looked at the Mac and HP support forums, I downloaded and installed the software for the HP Photosmart 6520, no problem with the installation.  Still do not see an option on my computer to print from the phototray.  Any ideas is this likely to be a problem of HP or a Mac problem.

If it is and you mean Photos Date of Mac are modified by selecting the photos using the Image menu == > adjust the time and date of order and changes made to the metadata such as keywords, location, etc. are made by selecting the photos and find the info and registering metadata in the Info window

These are detailed in the help topics of pictures - a good place to look for help on the Photos

View and add information about the photos

You can view and add information about your photos. For example, you can see the date and time a photo was taken, the information about the camera that took the photo and badges that indicate the status of the photo. You can assign titles and captions to photos, add or change the location of the photos and change the date and time for them information. You can select multiple photos in an instant and add or change information about them all at once.

    Open pictures for me

View and add information about the photos

To view or change information for the photos, you select one or more photos, and then open the information window.

    • Open the Info window: Double-click a photo to view it, and then click the Info button in the toolbar or press on command I.
    • Add or change information: Change the following.
      • Title: Enter a name in the title field.
      • Description: In the Description field, type a caption.
      • Favorite: Click the Favorites button to mark the photo as a favorite. Click the button again to deselect.
      • Keywords: Enter the keywords in the keywords field. When you type, Photos suggest keywords that you have used before. Press enter when you have finished a keyword. To remove a keyword, select it and press DELETE.
      • Faces: Click on and type a name to identify a face. Click on several times, and then drag the identifier of the face different faces to identify many faces in a photo.
      • Location: Enter a location in the location field. When you type, Photos suggest places you can choose. To change a location, you can search a different location or change the location by dragging a PIN on the map. To remove location information, delete it or choose Image > location, then choose Remove location or back to the original location. You cannot assign a location if your computer is not connected to the Internet.

Show titles, other metadata and badges

Change the date and time of photo

You can change the date and time associated with a picture. You can do this if you are traveling to a location in another time zone, and your camera affect your dates photos and periods that are correct for your House, but not the place you visited.

    1. Select the photos you want to edit.
    2. Choose Image > adjust Date and time.
    3. Enter the date and time you want in the modified field.
    4. Click a time zone on the map, if necessary.
    5. Click on adjust.
  • updated to OSX 10.9.8 and cannot open iPhoto

I upgraded OSX 10.7.5 to 10.9.8 and cannot open iPhoto more. I don't have the new photos.

It would be useful that you told us what version of iPhoto currently installed on your Mac.

  • Can I put more old iPhoto to use OSX 10.11?

Hello. I use OS x 10.7.5 on an iMac in early 2008. I wonder about the upgrade to 10.11. I want to continue to use iPhoto rather than photos, which I believe is possible with iPhoto 9.6.1. However, I have an old version of iPhoto (8.1.2) and there seems no possible day, before or after the update to OSX 10.11. I must point out that my copy of iPhoto is part of iLife ' 09 (I think), not redeemed on disk from Apple in the era of the dinosaurs - in any case, no trace in the App Store.

More generally, my current iMac won't last indefinitely, and I fear that when it becomes necessary to migrate to a new model running OSX 10.11 (or later version), my photos, which are in several libraries, each sorted into albums, will get completely scrambled.

    Any information appreciated. Thank you.

Unless Apple says that otherwise, no.

  • When I open iPhoto on my MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.5, it closes immediately. It will not open.

iPhoto closes if fast I don't have the time to see what version of iPhoto is - I get iPhoto 11 and 9. ??

The specifications of my MacBook Pro are OSX 10.8.5, 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 memory

I turned the Mac on and outside, sent the report to Apple (s), etc.

I can access photos individually if I know the tag I gave the picture - I do it through going into the Mail and take the steps to attach a photo. So my photo library opens by mail. But I can not access the albums or slideshows and cannot easily find a photo unlabelled.

Please indicate if you know a solution! Thank you.

I have a Macbook Air 13 inch, (early 2015) use Yosemite (10.10.5).  It came with the Photos app, but iPhoto is still in my applications folder, but is grayed out.  However, from the beginning, the App Store showed that I have an update for iPhoto, (I bought it to 15 August) and it never goes away.   To try to get rid of him, I tried to update and I get two different messages "unavailable for this ID... updated" or "not available in the United States.  I had called for support and he could not know.  Of course, it does not affect the performance of the laptop but it's annoying to have constantly there.   Any ideas on how to do this, go away?  I have attached a few screenshots to show what I mean.  Thanks if someone can help (and sorry if I posted this in the community, did not find one for the App Store issues...)

We use PhotoMatix Pro with iPhoto 11 (ver 9.4.3) & OSX 10.8.5 (Cougar) for a few years & everything was great until last week. When finished tone mapping in Photomatix Pro & trying to 'Save the final Image' return to iPhoto, one box comes in "unexpectedly iPhoto application.  Then we were unable to open the iPhoto library, get the same message. We did fix/rebuild & are able to access iPhoto again & export to Photomatix Pro & do tonemapping etc., but iPhoto unexpectedly quits when trying to "save the final image" again just like before. Best news is that we have 3 libraries & just imported our latest images from card chip in a new, 4th library & all works well again. (and the library 1st & 2nd also operate transparently) So it appears our 3rd library is broken. We would like to know what to do about this 3rd library? I guess we should perhaps save on a 5th library & hope for the best? Pls explain all the steps that we are not computer very knowledgeable & not sure how you would do this & that just would take the same question at the library of 5th? TKS so much!
