IPS CPU utilization question

Hello

One of the ips ssm-10 active, showing the CPU sometimes 100% and sometimes 0% usage

is this normal or something else?

Well Hi,

As I said in the previous to your post, this cpu bar is not the correct indication of load inspection ips:

"CPU utilization statistics are not a good indication of the processing of sensor load. "The percentage of charge of inspection in the output of its use during the last 5 s 100 "

    Hello

I'm dealing with low CPU utilization on the export of videos with Adobe Premiere Pro. The use is between 40 and 50%. My equipment should not be the problem.

Well... tells us a part of your question, is that your writing export is part of which slows things down. Note that when you write the file much smaller, which unless disk activity to do this, your CPU usage increases.

Yes... you need several discs with your project better laid out. As suggested.

  • the computer CPU utilization may go back if she attributed to a host in motor?

    Hi gurus of Performance.

The computer CPU utilization may go back if she attributed to a host in motor?

Can this be solved by adding an another vCPU virtual machine in the same (supplied with machine)?

    > Can a VM CPU usage because he moved to a host in motor?

The simple answer is Yes, allows to observe an analogy, we have a bucket 5ltr is your CPU, you currently fill this bucket of 1ltr of water.  The bucket also represents your view Taskmanager, it shows average usage by 25%.

Now you move this water in a bucket 2ltr and now your task manager appears average usage by 50%.

    > Can this be solved by adding an another vCPU virtual machine in the same (supplied with machine)?

You second question is more problematic, just adding a second processor can increase capacity by 50% but it will not diminish the use of the CPU by 50%, the OS and the applications that are installed on this machine should be aware of SMP.  This is true for physical and virtual environments.  More for a virtual environment, if your host is overcommited that the addition of a second vCPU could reduce performance for this person, because he's going to be challenge for 2 hearts free pCPU whenever it issues a statement to the operating system or an application that supports SMP.

  • Very high CPU utilization

    Hi all

We have several standards work of the Disqualification created to standardize the data from the source systems. Among all, there are 2 positions causing the CPU usage greater than 97% throughout the work. For the jobs of rest with the same logic, but the source systems different data do not take this as the CPU usage.

Run these 2 high CPU utilization causing positions for 50 k records and also around 1 lakh separately but still the CPU usage remains the same. that is more than 97%. Are there other specific job setting or settings that causes this problem? For the rest, the jobs CPU usage is average only 55%. Performance wise, it is not accepted and PT test sign off is blocked because of this.

    Appreciate your suggestions! @

    Thank you

    Amol 971-505343978

    Hello

Why do you think the high utilization of the processor is a bad thing? On the contrary, Disqualification treat this work as soon as possible. While other jobs [that run at 55%] are i/o bound and probably run a lot faster if you were to set the I/O bottleneck.

    Kind regards

  • Re: Satellite A100-803 - CPU Upgrade question

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-803 at the moment. There is an Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 inside and it is a bit slow. Also, it does not support VT - x extensions.

My idea is to build a simple hobby-server which should run Gentoo with Xen on it. I can buy an Intel Core 2 Duo T7600, but there are two things I'd like to know.

1 the bios does support the Intel Core 2 Duo T7600?
    2. If she supports the Intel Core 2 Duo T7600, is it possible to use VT - x extensions?

    > 1. The bios supports the Intel Core 2 Duo T7600?
It is not known to me, but you should check if the chipset supports the Intel Core 2 Duo T7600. If the chipset does not support this CPU you can not use this CPU in your A100. But if the chipset would support the new CPU then you ve good chances to use this component.

    > 2. If she supports the Intel Core 2 Duo T7600, is it possible to use VT - x extensions?
Hmm, that's a good question; as far as I know the BIOS must support the feature VT - x to use it of course the CPU must support this too so I think that VT - x should be available if the update for Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 would be successful

  • Qosmio X 300-130 PQX32E - CPU upgrade question

    Hello

I'm thinkink of upgrading my CPU TOSHIBA QOSMIO X 300 - and searching the net I found that this is the most powerful processor can I upgrade to [Intel® Core 2 Extreme Processor QX9300
    (Cache de 12 Mo, 2,53 GHz, BUS frontal à 1 066 MHz,)]

so before you buy it I decided to ask here if someone did, and if it is really compatible

    My current setting

Type of processor Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo P8600, 2400 MHz
    Bus Type Intel AGTL +.
    CHIPSET: Intel Cantiga PM45
    Intel Montevina Platform

    Hello

    Updates are not officially supported
But you can read here on the forum about updates and in many cases, the CPU upgrade was possible

Always is there to check the compatibility of the chipset
If the chipset would be compatible with the new processor, you've got a good chance to get it running

The question is: would the BIOS supports the new processor?
Answer is not easy because there is no information on the supported processors.

Here are the details of Intel on the chipset:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/chipsets/35515

Under compatible products, you can find the processors supported
It looks like the Intel® Core 2 Extreme Processor QX9300 (2.53 GHz, front side bus at 1066 MHz, 12 MB Cache) is supported by the chipset

  • Z220: The CPU utilization high idling: how to troubleshoot?

My new Z220 with i5-3470 CPU, 16 GB RAM, Win 7 Pro 64-bit, shows a very high utilization of the processor idling: 35 to 39%, on average. I looked at the Win 7 performance monitor and there it shows system interrupts, in slow motion, a lot of 20-25% the use of the CPU, the system consumes 10 to 15%.

A quick glance at a similar setup Z210 idling watch zero % CPU for the two system using interrupts and system.

The Windows performance tool is not one I have a lot of experience with usage, but a few reports I generated show nothing obvious, at least not for me.

Does anyone have advice about how to fix this?

    TIA!

After a really long survey on Windows 7 drivers and others, HP advanced support Tech became convinced (as I pretty much was all the long...) that there actually is a hardware in-game problem: motherboard or the CPU. First level never support could go to the beyond notice of driver/Win 7 / background process 'normal', which I became finally found was not the case.

The excellent technician sent by HP thought the CPU was a good place to start: it replaces, and as soon as voltage, all high utilization of the processor issues disappeared! I've been running the system for some hours, after reinstalling my extra system memory and card over-pants V4900 and the CPU is idle to 0-1 percent, with System Idle Process typically in 98-99 percent. Idling system interruptions now consume less than 1% of the CPU usage. Why this processor (i5-3470) spent all of diagnostics from Intel without a blip is a mystery to me.

Thus, solved! And congratulations for the HP business support!

  • CPU utilization constant ntpd

I'm looking for causes of intermittent spikes in the CPU usage, and I noticed that the ntpd process constantly takes between 16% and 20% of CPU. It's amazing, why a process that should only periodically synchronize the local clock with a reference on the Internet should require so much resources? For example, I type, but he is the most CPU consuming processes, monitoring of activity of monitor.

I have a MacBook Pro, 2011, with a processor i7 and 16 GB of RAM, El Capitan 10.11.2 running.

In fact, I just found a solution: I used a deprecated NTP server, that probably has not been answered.

It is easy to fix: go to system-> Date & time preferences, activate the changes and change the NTP server to one of those proposed (I chose the one Apple in my area). The high utilization of the processor by the NTP has disappeared.

  • W540 First Impressions, CPU speed question

I received my W540 yesterday, and I am still migrating throughout my W520.

    First impressions:

    (1) keyboard - works fine, no light on the hats of the key is not a problem, caps lock appears on the screen

    (2) track Pad - works great after a few adjustments to my taste

    (3) display LCD - pending

    (4) LED function indication - I miss indicators for the HDD, WiFi & Bluetooth Radios

    (5) weight - My W520 weighs 6.2 lbs, W540 weighs 5.6 lb

Question of the speed of the CPU:

I ordered the CPU i7-4930MC, which is supposed to work at 3.9 GHz. After changing the settings of the Power System Manager for "TURBO MAXIMUM", the speed of the CPU is always only show 3.20 GHz on system Properies. How to 3.9 GHz?

Yes, it will not work at 3.9 GHZ at idle - it goes "turbo boost" as high as 3.9 GHZ on a single-threaded workload that requires a lot more speed, but most of the time, it is going to be lower to save on battery power, cooling, etc.

  • CPU utilization

I know of anything else that I can say that this would explane the problem.

I don't know what I need.  My computer says that I have a high utilization of the processor.  Checking my compurter it says I have 4 GB of free.  The computer has 3 GB of memory and 320 hard drive.  What should I buy to improve the functioning of the computer.

James Covert to * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Please specify. Do you mean that you have only 4 GB of free space on your hard drive to 320 GB? If so, you must do something about this pronto! If you have a lot of very large files, you want to keep, copy it to an external drive. Once they are transported safely, remove them from your hard drive of 320 GB. At LEAST EVERYTHING you need 15% free space (48 GB). If I were you, I'd get 50% (160GB).

About the use of the CPU, I think ElderL is on the right track; follow his wise counsel.

As you know the virtual machine CPU usage will check for crampons, drops drama or sustained high levels in the use of the CPU on a virtual machine.

But I'm looking Foglight to trigger alert when it reaches more than 95%, I want that all alerts to change radically.

Here's the script available right know.

    Hi Vivek,

You could disable this rule of origin and create a new one with this condition:

    If (#utilization of $scope.hostCPUs # > registry ("VMW:virtualMachineCPU.critical")))

    Returns true;
    on the other
    Returns false;

  • Desktop Windows 7 high CPU utilization

I have a HP p6744y and for the last month the CPU worked 100% almost constantly. Read as many blogs ran so many viruses, malware and kill root programs without help. When I check treats all users, it lists svchost.exe sometimes ranked at 90 to the title using 7 236 k memory and local services. How can I make this stop before I kill this computer? I must say I think started after I installed an update of Java, could this be the cause? I read where you asked people to uninstall programs until it is resolved, but I'm sure that's the answer to my problem of nit. I hope you can help me. Thank you for your time.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - GPU and CPU temperature question

    Hello

I took my Satellite Pro P100 totally out, clean the radiator and vents.
    Also applied new thermal paste.

The GPU is idling around 50 ° C fan always on
The CPU is idling around 40-45 ° C fan always on

To my other Qosmio G30 with a Geforce Go 7600, I got Idle at 35-38 ° C and about the same CPU!

Then, normal time for the satellite pro or are there settings that I could use to reduce times?
BIOS is the last of Toshiba, toshiba driver and win 7 power managemnt powersaving...

    Kind regards

  • Re: Tecra M5 PTM51E - CPU upgrade question

Hi, I have Tecra M5 PTM51E model with processor Yonah T2600 (2.16 ghz, 667fsb) core duo, a few days ago that I just replaced the processor with core 2 duo - Merom T7400 (2.16 ghz, fsb667) and everything works almost well... the processor is correctly recognized, I was able to install win7 64 bit.

The only problem I have is the fan speed, it goes full speed laptop to stop, I have the latest BIOS 3.70, Toshiba Power Saver - no matter what I put the fan goes 100% speed, temperatures are ok, HWmonitor presents the 28-30 C idle and 60 in stress and fan was cleaned up during the replacement of the central processing unit.

I guess I need media diagnosis/service of toshiba to set correct values for the speed of the fan on the processor?

    I appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

    > I upgraded the CPU. It works very well outside the CPU fan runs constantly at 100%

You have installed a stronger CPU that is faster and produces more heat dissipation.
It s nothing unusual that your fan runs faster.
The cooling module must run more quickly to make sure that the CPU would be cooled properly.
