Irritating the clone stamp in CS4.

Someone can tell me please how to disable aspect mirroring duplicate it in CS4 and go back to the way it worked in CS3 without magnifying glass & shows the content of the unknown?

Very many thanks for any help!

Rob

you mean the little insight on the tip of the brush? Go to window-> Source of duplication and deselect Show overlay

  • Automated control of the option line in the Clone Stamp tool. Intentional? Or my installation?

    Hello

Today, I noticed an "Aligned" somewhat unusual in the Clone Stamp tool when behavior is deselected. By double-clicking on the image with the button alt or option key causes of the behavior of the tool of change and 'Aligned' to become verified. So if you do not intend using aligned, you alt/option click of your mouse to point the source, decide on a different source point, click alt/option and all of a sudden you find yourself using an aligned clone stamp.

This does not happen with the Healing Brush tool, which makes me think this isn't an intentional shortcut. It is also powerful irritant.

I tried it with x 64 and x 32 CS6 on Windows. It happens on both. It also happens on the Macintosh? Is it possible to turn off this behavior?

    Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0.1 (13.0.1 20120808.r.519 2012/08 / 08:21:00:00) x 64

OK, according to Jeffrey Tranberry, there is currently no way to change this behaviour given - reset tool (something that I constantly forget!) reduces the time that the second click took to be recognized, allowing better control of the tool for me. Hope this helps someone in the future.

If changes should be made to this I would double click switch to be turned off completely.

  • CS3: alignment of the Clone Stamp tool

This has been me mad for years and I finally decided to post it here to see if I could get help.

Imagine a photo of a wall against the horizon. Dead-level in the framework. There is a smutch at the intersection of the wall and the horizon, I want to clean up with the clone stamp. I use the sliders 'accurate', btw.

So I pressed at the same intersection a little on the side of the smutch option. Once I did the crosshairs disappear to make things more difficult than they should be, but I move tool directly horizontally , and then click the center of the tool to the specific intersection.

The tool sticks an image which is moved vertically by a number of pixels. No matter how to move tool when I click I can't get the hotspot of the tool on the ground where it should be.

Why is this? Happens all the time. There must be something I am doing wrong.

    Thanks in advance

You can always press the option key to get line of sight again, then release the right of option before starting the cloning. So: Press option, reticle is just between the finger and the wall, click on to the bottom to get source. Press option again to get line of sight, move the tool horizontally and aim using crosshairs, OUTPUT option and start cloning.

Also check out the clone source Panel (window > source of duplication). It has an overlay and the shift feature could be useful. You don't seem a prime candidate for the new preview of clone feature in CS4.

  • When you use the Clone Stamp tool CS6 the alt key does not work?

Just recently, my mouse have misbehaved and touched my CS6 when I was working on a photo. The result, my alt key does not work. For example, when I use the Clone Stamp tool, I can't sample as the alt key does not work. Even in ACR, the alt key does not work. When I drag the 'white' to the left while pressing the ALT key, the screen turns black.

    Help, please? Thank you

    Steven Teo

    Hi Steven Teo,

You are able to use the ALT key well otherwise on your computer?

You can try to reset the Clone Stamp tool.

To reset, follow the instructions below:

    1. Select the Clone Stamp tool

    2. right click / Control click dropdown at the top left

    3. choose Reset tool

    Hope that helps.

    Kind regards

  • When you try to use the clone stamp. a red part appears and the message saying it is a mistake and close photoshop, reopening the same case, no problem there is little time

When you try to use the Clone Stamp tool, the screen becomes a partial red screen and a message from Windows saying that an error has occurred and close Photoshop.

The same thing happens again after the reboot, ALL work is lost, this has happened only recently

Hi all, thanks for your help, I went into preferences and disabled tick graphic, now everything is OK thanks Ben so

  • Option-click for the clone stamp does not. I've tried several suggested fixes, no results. Help!

    Howdy!

I searched and found similar questions on the forum and I tried all the solutions proposed, that I could find, but I'm still not resolve this issue. Hoping that maybe someone found a fix!

The problem is that the option - click to set a point source for the Clone Stamp tool does not work, but the behavior seems to be particularly odd.

With the Clone Stamp selected, tool if I press the option key pressed, I get the crosshairs target little, which makes me think that Photoshop is the option key is read and is not a recovery program of her clutter. When I then try to use the clone stamp, however, I get the dreaded error message:

"Could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (option - click to set a point source)."

I went through all the relevant troubleshooting steps, I could find elsewhere on the forum. I have updated to the latest version of Photoshop and my BONES. I tried to reset the tool. When this does not work, I reset the Photoshop preferences. I have disabled all the other programs that seemed that they might have some sort of overlay keyboard shortcut, but as mentioned, Photoshop DO change the cursor when I press the option key, which makes me think (although I am far from being an expect) is not the issue. I have no plugins or mods or anything of this nature that is installed. It is a completely vanilla installation.

I am under Photoshop CC 2015.1.2 20160113.r.355 x 64.  My OS is El Capitan 10.11.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. As far as I know, there is no work around. This tool is dead in the water for me until I can sort this out.

    Thank you!

P.S. If this is quite in the wrong place to post a question like that, I'm sorry. I would like to know where I lead and I'll be on my way!

I have to admit, I'm puzzled. Everything seems as it should. The tool has been reset, preferences reset and the layer looks very good. I wonder if it is a question with El Capitan. I use Windows, but know that Photoshop has had problems when El Capitan came out. If you have not used the clone 6 months stamp then it would have been pre - El Capitan. Have you tried completely uninstalling Photoshop, restart the computer and reinstall?

I have not followed the El Capitan saga, you can read about it here

Warning about Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

As a last resort, you can try going back to Yosemite.

  • Problem with the clone stamp and Healing brush, as soon as I use them I get a second image duplicated on top that move with the tool

Problem with the clone stamp and Healing brush, as soon as I use them I get a second image duplicated on top that move with the tool

You're apparently talking about Photoshop, so I'll pass this on Photoshop beginners forum.

  • Stupid Photoshop. Clone tool does not. That means "could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (option - click to set a point source)" means?

Please help and bear with me, I can not know what you are talking about. Total newb

    Nice day!

The Clone Stamp tool is intended to be used to paint the parts of an image on one image (the same or another).

To do this, a sampling point must be set for Photoshop 'know' what piece to be used and which is done with the Clone tool from the selected buffer, alt-click on the space provided.

    Kind regards

  • The clone stamp will not work in AE CC

When I click on the Clone Stamp tool, nothing changes and I'm unable to use the tool. The symbol of the clone stamp becomes highlighted, but the cursor does not change from a circle above the image and just like an arrow. When I try to sample an area by holding the alt/option key, nothing happens and I am unable to do anything. Someone at - it assistance for this problem?

The Clone Stamp tool works in a source layer, not the Viewer window window main comp.  Double click on your layer target in the timeline panel to open the display layer source code.

  • Help with using the Clone Stamp tool.  How do a get a better game?

    Hello

    Please see my sample image:

    Clone Stamp tool remove wood.jpg

As shown in the picture, I want to remove the wood in the corner.  I thought using the Clone Stamp tool would give me the look of the corner by sampling above the wood and then clone on the wood.  But what I got is a lighter angle of research, not what I want.  I tried some blending mode, but I don't get the game I want, so I thought I would ask here.  Is there a better way to do it?  I have this same problem with other image like this.  I take a point of sampling part of the image and then the Clone Stamp ends by lighter or a different shade in the buffer zone.  Yet once, maybe the clone stamp tool is not the right tool to do this, if so, what else is there?  The Healing Brush tool is worse for what I do in the type of healing.

    Thank you

The Clone tool may not be the best choice when large areas are involved. It is easier and faster to make a selection of an area of choice and then using Edit > transform > deformation to replicate and extend the area selected, as shown here

  • Please help, I have reset the Clone Stamp tool in CS5 and it's always the same.

    Hello

I run Photoshop CS5 on my Mac and I have not had problems since I installed Photoshop originally. Yesterday, the Clone Stamp went crazy mad and starts to move the frame surrounding whenever I chose a source. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, plug-ins installed and reset tools (reset several times). Nothing has changed and I have some urgent changes to make. Please help, thanks.

PS, I have read several forums that were kind of related to this problem and nothing I've read has helped. Sorry if it's repetitive other problems for everyone.

If you go to window > Clone Source and choose Clipped, isn't that better?

  • How to fix the clone stamp?

    MAC OS / Photoshop CS5

As you can see in the attached picture, my selection of clone stamps originate at the edges of the outline, which makes using it very clumsy to use. My installation of PS home and all the facilities of this company is not done.

I tried to play with all the clone stamp settings, reset the settings to clone stamp and reset Photoshop general preferences on startup. However, nothing I've tried has had no effect.

So, how can I get this adjusted so that the clone selected buffer zone extends to the edges of the gray outline?

What version of mac os x are you using?

If what JJMack suggested above does make a difference, then in general the brush

size with photoshop on mac os x slider can be affected by the setting of the size of the cursor

located in universal access. usually, you want the size of the cursor set to Normal.

something like this, depending on your version of os x:

  • Could not use the Clone Stamp tool as the area to clone has not been set

Freshly installed 10 items.  Can not use the option-click to define an area for the clone stamp.  The error I get is:

Could not use the clone stamp tool because the area to clone has not been defined (option - click to set a sampling point).

New Mac Mini.  Had the same problems in Elements 9 so I installed the trial of 10.  Is it an error of keyboard shortcut?  Do not have this problem with Elements 9 on my Mac Air or my Windows 7 system.

I'm not a newbie and know how to use the tool clone.  I won't say that I'm an expert, so if it's something related to diapers please throw some ideas.

Yes, that sounds like a problem of layers.  If the area that you use to define the source of duplication is a transparent area on one of your layers, it will not work.  Released from the Palette layers, then make sure that you use the area of the image (and not the mask area) - if the area of the image on the layer is active, it will have a border.
