  • unload the battery or recharge with a degree of autonomy?

Hi, I googled the question if a battery rechargeable drain before loading and is came up with it depends on the type of battery.

for a Clip, can I drain the battery before recharging or try to load while the battery has life?

    Thank you!

Do not drain completely, except, perhaps, every now and again one time to recalibrate the battery meter.

In general, for the type of battery, the Clips have, it is recommended to recharge to 40% power left, as a rough guide.

  • When the capacity of the battery falls Satellite Pro U300 occasionally lose power

    Hello

I suspect you have a defective battery (standard installed on the laptop) on my new Satellite Pro U300 - 11 k and I wonder if someone had a similar problem.
When the power drops to 10%, my laptop occasionally loses power. In the range of less than 7% capacity always loses power, i.e. either fails to start the hibernation, or is unable to complete the process (I can always tell if power was lost during hibernation because of the characteristic of the system of protection HD sound). I did several tests, especially in the power saving mode. "High performance" mode power seems to be a little more reliable, but still fails to shut down less than 5% of the capacity. The level of Hibernate by default on the Toshiba Windows Vista pack is as low as 2%, so I can wait until it is able to work at this level.

Overall the battery capacity is about 1 h (Media Player, fashion high performance, maximum intensity) at all about 2 to 2.5 hours (slowed or text editor, mode, brightness low power saving). Charging time is about 1 hour (seems too short). They are difficult to objectively assess that Toshiba avoids quoting the specifications of the battery, but I consider the question of the reliability of the above as being a serious (do not want to take the risk of damaging the HD). I am considering visiting the service center, but leaving both the computer and the battery with them would be a nuisance for me and I would rather avoid it if I can. I wonder if I can claim the warranty on the battery alone?

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Background information:
-The U300 is a few weeks old.
-The battery has been fully charged and discharged (approximately 15 times since purchase).
    -Cooldown takes 1 h - 1.5hrs
    -J' using Vista Business
-J' went through the power settings to make sure they are ok and to change threshold levels
-I am an experienced business user, I use a laptop computer at work which stops always perfectly to the power level of 3%

Reading your post, I do see no battery issues! Everything you say is right and not a malfunction.
Please note that the Vista operating system needs much more computing resources and the battery is much more emphasized running Vista!

Please also note that the level and time to discharge the battery can be different! Everything depands of the use of the laptop!
All the portable devices and parts waste the power of the battery at the same time and that's why there are differences in the discharge procedure.

Don t be afraid and take advantage of your laptop but if you think you will need to contact the ASP in order to clarify this issue, then feel free to contact service technician.
They should be able to help you.

  • NB200 122 - loading using the battery power options

    Dear all

I recently bought a Toshiba NB 200-122 Mini Netbook, I tried to use all the power options (full power)... always shows 15% battery (charge) even if I kept it charging for a day in hibernation mode... (when connected to the power unit).

Other laptops would be fully load 100% when it is connected to the unit of power for one day...

Why the netbook battery is slow or not clean load?...
Or other options with her... Or having to drain the battery completely and use it...

Could someone suggest me some advice about this...

    Thank you

    regards Sarah

    Hi Sarah,.

I agree with the user above. You should try a BIOS update you can find the Toshiba site. Before applying it, close all programs running also your antivirus and firewall and make sure that you are logged on as administrator.

In the worst case you battery is damaged or some cells in it. You can get a spare to an authorized service provider.

  • IM using hp-envy 15 3021tx. IM wondering if I remove the battery, I void my warranty?

    ??

    Hello

You would not void the warranty by removing the battery - if you use mainly the laptop with the power adapter is connected, I suggest you drain the battery to about 40% before you remove and store in a cool if that's what you want.

    Kind regards

  • If I do not charge my laptop right when I get it, is what destroyed the battery?

My friend had recently got a new MacBook Pro (early 2015) 13 "and it does not load right when he got: but rather let die down and then accused, but he now tells me that it has damaged its battery when I don't see much of a difference compared to my computer. (MacBook Air 11 '' beginning 2015) I found it went down by 1% every 5 minutes and go down 1% every 6 minutes. It would be great if someone could tell me if it's just a myth that I shouldn't trust or if he really did something wrong, and what to do about it. Thank you.

Depleting layer completely the charge and recharge to full load, is what is called the battery calibration.

New type of batteries installed in new models of Mac Laptops don't need calibration.

Impoverishing the layer one or twice the charge wouldn't harm to the battery.

But please do not repeat this.

Depleting the load completely can have an effect on the battery life.

There may be other reasons why the Mac has the problem you describe.

  • Satellite Pro 4600 calibrate the battery?

    Hello

My Satellite Pro 4600 battery is pretty weird. I always completely load to 100%. But when I use my laptop and it reached 60-65%, it goes down to 3% of the battery. Now, I was wondering if there is a way to calibrate the battery, so he sees it as a battery of 100% full again? Anyone who can help me?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey,.

    Tips for the battery charge.

Unplug the computer from the power adapter and turn it on. Let the computer battery power until the computer turns off, indicating that the battery is fully discharged.

    Remove the battery.

Using a soft cloth, wipe the battery packs connectors and AC adapters.

    Reinsert the battery.

Plug the power adapter from the computer and check the wall outlet, ensuring that the connection is firm.

When the PC is off, let the battery charge until the icon or the battery light turns green.

    Disconnect the power adapter.

    Remove the battery.

Wait 30 seconds and reinsert the battery.

    Reconnect the AC adapter.

Let the battery recharge until the battery status light turns green or the icon appears at 100%.

Now your battery must be charged completely. Unplug the computer from the wall outlet and turn on the PC. You should notice more autonomy.

  • Portege Z930: How to keep the battery alive as long as possible?

    Hello

Got a Portege Z930 recently, I do not know how to manage the recharge of the battery in order to maintain 'live' as long as possible.

I'm mainly using computer at home, to leave the battery and then recharge, but I'm not sure it's a good idea. I had an A-200 before satellite, also use it at home and keep connected all the time; After a few years, the battery capacity decreases

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    > after a few years, the battery capacity decreases

It's nothing unusual after a few years of any battery would start to lose performance.
Generally speaking after 500 times charge cycles the battery begins to lose clean performance.

Of course you can remove the battery and could use the laptop only connected to the power adapter, but in this case, the laptop would shut down when making connection interrupted.

To extend the battery work, you will need to calibrate the battery from time to time.
To calibrate the battery, you must discharge the battery until it is completely empty. Then connect the power adapter and charge the battery up to full charge. Repeat this procedure two or three times in the line.

    Greetings.

  • Satellite A100-1011E - how to extend the battery life

    Hello world

I would like to ask you for advice. Given that I just bought this laptop, I would not my battery life shorten as soon as my old laptop. You plug the power cable when the battery is fully charged? Since I'm on cell regularly, 3 h battery is not enough for me. All do you advise me to take the battery out and use that? We hope to get all the valuable tips here. Thank you!

    Hi jimmytee,
After the available studies, newsletters and my experience, there is no need to remove the battery if fully charged when working with AC plugged in. It is recommended only to tell - and recharge the battery once a month, not more. You should not work with AC plugged on and removed the battery.
Furthermore, I'm fighting currently with the battery in a new unit. The battery itself was very fast discharge with the unit is turned off and removed ca connection. Now, the Toshiba service changed the battery. Will see how the situation will be after a few days.
