  Recently, I tried to create an Extension from Adobe that uses adapters to host. But after the export of the extension and install it with the Adobe Extension Manager CS5, I received an error message when starting InDesign that the host adapter is not a valid plugin. Is it possible that the Extension Manager 2.0 can't InDesign CS5 with host adapters? Because the plugin without the host adapter works. Or do I have the old plugins to host adapter? If Yes, where can I download them?

  I can't find a reference for the limits of the type of TIFF file as Indesign CS5.5 / CS6 can support.

  I thought Indesign can support all kinds of TIFF and I was denied when I tried to import a TIFF file with compression CCITT 4 (black and white TIFF).

  It is true that Photoshop cannot save an image on two levels (i.e. single bit monochrome) TIFF CCITT Group 4 compresses (or group 3-compresses).

  However, Acrobat Pro can save PDF as CCITT Group 4 compressed TIFF Group 3

  And I confirm that InDesign cannot place a CCITT Group 4 or group-3 compressed TIFF image.

  Ironically, Photoshop can open TIFF CCITT Group 4 compressed files but when simply save even saves TIFF compressed into ZIP files.

  So, the quickest way for the placement of your CCITT Group 4 TIFF files compressed in InDesign is to simply open and resave the TIFF files in Photoshop.

  Yes, a hack villain, but it allows you to work around this limitation.

  To start an extnesion scripts CS, you are essentially limited to the menuAction.invoke ().

  I downloaded indesign cs5 windows debug install on adobe site partnerr, version of the installer is 355.

  I have correctly installed on my windows MCM.

  On running the application I got Aseert message following one after the other.

  -Could not load the plugin MANAGER of FONTS. RPLN

  -Unable to load the plugin sing APLN

  -On to use Nile ptr interface! Questioned IID has been FontMgrPrefix + 4 (0x3e04), the kWorkspaceBoss Boss

  And then the end of the application Indesign gets crashed.

  Please note that I didn't load any third-party plugin.

  What is not clear with the samples, it is that your CSXS Extension can actually choose not to contribute a menu under window > Extensions.

  FreeGrid sample has elements of menu under window > SDK > free grid (who calls in C++ code that fires a CSXS event to open the extension) and the title of the window > Extensions > free UI grid that opens the CSXS Extension, which, in turn, communicates with the C++ plug-ins. If you remove the

  tag in the manifest file of the extension of the free grid UI (under .staged-extension/CSXS), then who's going to get rid of the window > Extensions > free menu item grid UI, leaving only the menu item defined in the C++ plug-ins. Appears not to be supported by Bundle manifest Editor Extension Builder (I'll file a bug on this topic now), but you can manually edit the manifest file (in Extension Builder, you will need to click on the arrow down on the upper right of the package Explorer and select "filters", then uncheck the ".") * resources"box - this will make the folder visible .staged-extensions.
