Is it fitting to name my app "for PlayBook.

Hi all

I implement my 2nd app, and I want to quote the app "for PlayBook" to attract more users Playbook. I do not use the RIM images or BlackBerry or the logos of the app, I know that it is not authorized by the official. But I wonder if the app name with the "Playbook" and "PlayBook" strings in the application GUI, as "dialogue", is allowed.

Thank you!

@howardwu

My apps name is exactly this: "ShortenThis!" for Blackberry Playbook"and I use the same expression in my description, as well as the future on the page and they have never said a word about this, they just added the little (R) and TM for it that's all.

  • Scale of BB! 0 app for Playbook

Hi all, in excess of what can be described as sillyness, I created a game in webworks for my z10. I used fixed assets to the z10 resolution. now, I decided to port for playbook and obviously changing resolution is a bit problematic. is there a way I can use a tag of viewport to simply reduce the demand to adapt to the playbook? or do I have to do a lot of recoding and change the sizes of the assets?

    Thank you once again,

I did some functions rather fancy mathematics and just placed a large div behind the screen with a black background color and voila it worked.

  • convert adobe flex web app for playbook air application?

Hey, I am very new to this sort of thing and was using a Visual tool to help me create applications web flex. My question is can I convert these to operate as air apps on the playbook?

Given that I don't really know action script.

Also, can you recommend any good books, tutorials, or interactive Web sites that would help me to learn action script? Thank you!

Some MX controls (OK, a lot) are not supported under the BB SDK.  For example, mx. Alert does not work, you must use the AlertDialog QNX class.  See docs QNX to:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/developers/docs/airapi/1.0.0/index.html

In addition, FlashBuilder is the IDE that is supprted, Flex Builder (3.x) is not supprted.  FlashBuilder 4.x is what you need, but which is not supported under Linux.  You should be able to download the 0.9.1 BB SDK for Linux and the use of the CLI version for a project of will.

If you are a Flex application, you need to change the root node of a node (Application or WindowedApplication) AIR (if not already done).  If so, act like and more taking orders from MX which are not supported, I keep your business logic and simply change the front-end server with native controls of QNX/BB.

But first, I would try just get a "Hello World" application to compile and run as an AIR application and then send it on the Simulator to get their feet wet.  then see what it would take to get your application scope.

    Hope that helps.

  • Door BB app for playbook - new app or new version.

    Hello

For the ports to an existing application for blackberry playbook, how one submits it?

    • As the new version of the existing blackberry app.
    • As a new application altogether.

    Thank you

    -MO.

It depends on what you want to achieve

If you submit as a release of users who bought for BB can download it for free on the PlayBook. However the application will have the same rating and comments, on the BB

If you post a new app - it will be a new application with 0 reviews and users will have to buy if they want to have it on their PlayBook

  • Submission of bundle app for Playbook - the Minimum OS selection

I'm trying to introduce my signed application and email I form RIM week last States choose minimum of 6.0.0 Tablet and OS.  When I select the Tablet for the platform, the only selection I is 1.0.0.  There the Playbook as a device supported, but I don't want to screw up and have something like this delay my approval.  Is this OK, and comes to be updated since I got my email from RIM or I do something wrong?

    Hey blenahan,

you're reading e-mail is obsolete. You must now choose the minimal operating system of 1.0.0 for the Tablet OS. so go with it and submit it. Good luck!

  • Screen of transition between the views in Flex Hero App for Playbook

    Hello.

I created an application using the Flex using Flash Builder (Burrito) hero. I should also point out that I created the application as a mobile application ( ).

Now, the problem is that when the application starts, I put a start page by default in the file Blackberry - tablet.xml. This shows. But then the application loads the default app (myApp.mxml) view. The code is as follows:

    http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                    xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                    width="1024" height="600" firstView="views.myAppHome">

From there, it goes directly to the views.myAppHome. What happens, however, is that between the blackberry file boot image - tablet.xml and the background of the views.myAppHome.mxml file, I get a brief moment where the default background of the file shows myApp.mxml. Is any way to get rid of this? Can I just put a similar to the start page background image in the file myApp.xml? Or should I take altogether on the myApp.mxml file and continue straight to the views.myAppHome.mxml?

    * I did this way based on a tutorial several months ago. This tutorial, however, had additional features that I removed. Currently, I have an opinion, but will probably add another any further on the road.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you!

I encountered the same problem and I added an extra MobileApplication splashscreen:

  • Gate presentation app BlackBerry PlayBook

    Hi all

I wrote and published a BlackBerry app that is available in the BlackBerry App World. For the sake of argument let's call him "My App"

I have worn since the game for the PlayBook with the same name and want to add it to the BlackBerry App World.

However, I do not want to add it as a rejection of the PlayBook in my existing entry as a description is not entirely accurate, and screenshots would certainly not correct. What do you think is the best way to add the new app in App World?

I might add an entry called 'My App for PlayBook', then check replace the names of JAD and put "My App" in the name, the same way call "My App" in the XML file in the project - "My App for PlayBook" becomes only an internal name for inside my portal provider, customers see "My App for PlayBook" in the App World and "My App" on their PlayBook screen when installing it?

RIM are sensitive to the use of the "for PlayBook"?

Bit confused - any help much appreciated!

    Thank you :-)

    Jim

A good number of people have used the "My App for PlayBook" approach as a new product in the vendor portal.

  • Porting native Apps for BB10 playbook

I have 2 games running for PlayBook (so 2.0), already published on appworld.now decided to their device BB10 port also. Like my apps are developed naively and using OpenGL 2.0 how many will of work required.

is there is no Playbook to BB10 port applications guide.

I need to download the binaries for playbook and BB10. So what is the name of the package, the two could be same? Or my application will have separate names for the two (Playbook and BB10).

I have an application Native + OpenGL for PlayBook and BB10. You will have no problem porting to BB10, you only take care of the different screen size.

And Peter is right. You must present the version for BB10 wearing the same package id and version should be different for BB10. To keep my versions "in tact" I simply add 100 for the last byte for BB10 package. For example - version 1.0.1.1 for PlayBook and version 1.0.1.101 for BB10.

I just installed Sierra and tried to use Siri.  I can't open any app on my Mac.  No matter when I say something like, "FaceTime open" or "Open Pages," Siri comes back with something like "I don't see an app for that.  "You will need to download a ' or 'you don't seem to have an app called 'Pages'.  We could see if the App Store has it. »

    Hmmm... This is not sensible.

You need to speak clearly. I had the same thing happen. It took a few tries but Siri has finally opened apps for me.

  • App for free weights and the monitoring of sleep

I'm new to Apple Watch and would like suggestions on application of lifting weight, and also for the monitoring of sleep.

I had very mixed results with 'sleep followed' apps for the  watch. I landed on an application for the phone called sleep Cycle that uses the microphone on your phone, sitting on the nightstand next to you to track sleep instead. Don't ask me how it works, but it does. He also knows that my wife is using the application itself across the bed and that is not what we do mixed.

Can't help much with weight lifting, sorry... I have gave for years ready. : PEI

  • For the iPad 2 air, what is the best app for note taking allows you to use a removable keyboard and a stylus? Which is also a stylus good to use?

I am looking to buy an iPad 2 air to take notes in college classes and I was wondering what is a good software that allows an external keyboard (like a laptop) to type notes and also allows the drawing with a stylus? What is a good pen that is compatible with the app and the iPad 2 air?

If you really want to use stylus to take notes or draw you should go for iPad Pro with Apple pencil. Nothing else offers good experience especially for hand writing. If you ok with drawing then only pencil FiftyThree is a good choice on iPad 2 Air (but again, it is much worse in my opinion, then iPad Pro + Apple pencil). FiftyThree is also one of the best (paper) apps for note taking (and it works well with their pencil).

The keyboards are wide work system and not a dependent application. You can go for any model of the 3rd party like you which is compatible with iPad air 2. Advice covers the Apple Smart keyboard are specific to the Pro (they need specific for Pro iPad connector).

  • Is there a Firefox app for iPad/iPhone?

Is to see an app for Android. Is there a Firefox app for iPad/iPhone?

Hello Sid1, due to the restrictive policy of apple, it is unfortunately not possible to put in place and offer independent third-party browsers for idevices.

Mozilla is against bringing the rendering motor & javascript in firefox on iOS, because apple only allows the use of its own webkit in terms for developers - as long as it does, Firefox and its ecosystem of the addon can be ported to iOS devices unfortunately.
