Is it possible to change Vista pre-installed to Windows XP?

Hello

I recently bought SATLTE TOSHIBA L30-105. It came with a preinstalled Vista. I don't like all Vista and I would like to install Windows XP. Is there a way I can get a CD of Windows XP for Toshiba to replace Vista?

Thank you

Hello

It seems that you are a lucky man who has had the laptop with the Vista OEM operating system ;)

Each laptop comes with an operating system.
Some devices come with XP and Vista. It depands on the model of laptop.

Unfortunately, you will not get any different operating system from Toshiba.
If you want to install Windows XP or another operating system on your laptop, you will need to purchase an original Microsoft System.

I think that sooner or later you will find the Toshiba XP drivers on the Toshiba driver page.

Greetings

Where can I find key for business to Vista pre-installed on my laptop?  Yes, I have a legal authenticated copy of Vista business on my laptop.  I recently had to reinstall everything on my laptop, but had some problems using the backup disks that I initially created for this purpose.  I finally managed to do it, but it would be so much easier in the future if I had a with key correct installation disc.  So, first of all, where can I download an Installation of Vista Business disc; and second, where I look on my current laptop installation to determine the key authenticated for my current installation?  Is this possible?

    Hello

Many manufacturers of computers DO still have available Vista recovery discs.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

No, you can't downgrade. But you can probably * clean install * Windows XP.

I say "probably" because there is a potential problem with drivers XP being available for all hardware. If the computer is a laptop, this risk is greater. So check with the manufacturer or on their web site to make sure that all the drivers you need do not exist for XP.

@ Ken... I tried installinng windows vista by using the recovery disk that will get a customer with the computer dell laptop... and then he was trying to install vista on my computer... It works fine when installing files, but it is and stucks where he says 'finish installation' and he won't do anything after that... I tried to restart my computer and I could see Microsoft coportation logo and then my computer stucks to this screen and wont connect in... not sure what exactly to do... by the ways for your reply thanks

You cannot use recovery discs to install with, if not for the exact model computer that you install.  You need a full installation detail of the model of Vista operating system you want to install since you don't downgrade your operating system to a system that offers no right of demotion.

After that, Norton is turned on with the rest of the time for your subscription should be displayed. If you have further questions about Norton, you can click on their link to support here. Yes, you can reinstall clean 32 bit vista

you need to get the sony vista recovery disc

    or use your recovery partition

It depends on how you install 64-bit whether if the recovery partition is left untouched or not

You can also reinstall the 32-bit version of this way

    borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow correct 32-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

ask also sony how to make this recovery partition recovery disks now before you go ahead and install the 64-bit vista

then you have reinstall disks for 32-bit vista

  • Pre-installed backup Windows 8 OS

Hello world. First of all sorry for the long question, but it is very important for me.

I want Hp dv6 laptop 7352sr. I need to wipe everything on the internal HARD disk and install Ubuntu.  It came with 8 windows pre installed. So I need to save all partitions (UEFI, main "C", small partitions created automatically, partition partition EFI encyripted and etc.) of the operating system. I didn't wan't to the current operating system of risk, because it is under license of Windows 8 and when I bought my laptop is Windows 8 modified by HP. If after a while, I go back to Windows, then it will be a regular Windows, not changed. I'll have the Windows I have to first (all partitions).

I searched for this topic, but in some cases there are a lot of problems, because he has UEFI. I've tried Acronis backup, but it did not work (when I boot on DVD there graphic problem).

I have the DVD of backup. If I install Windows 8 after awhile and restore "DVD", is that it will be the same windows when I bought my laptop (with all partitions).

So how I can clear all and no shortage of current operating system?

PS: I didn't wan't to dual boot and I know that there may be some problems with Ubuntu driver.

    farid775,

You go to the HP Recovery Manager and create recovery discs? If so, what are the disks that are going to reinstall Windows completely.

Watch this video to see if it's what you did.

IF you have not created the recovery still directed by the video disks, you can do it now

    OR

create a recovery USB (as erico has pointed out).

If you have already created, the recovery manager not allows you to create another set.

  • Is it possible to save Vista and install XP?

I'm tired of all the bugs with windows Vista, can I back up my files and install xp and use files saved with XP?

One of the reasons I want to reinstall an OS because my HDD is damaged, my bar of loading at the beginning of windows always hangs and I have to restart my computer several times before it works.

Because I reinstall an OS anyway, I want to go back to windows XP. If this is possible. Thank you

Simply copy your files on a CD or a Flash drive.

You can not copy installed programs; they must be reinstalled.

Installation of XP instead of Vista:

Come on first, site of the manufacturer of your computer, check to see if your model computer has XP drivers available for it...

If the XP drivers are not available for your model, forget the idea.

If Yes, download and save to a CD or Flash drive.

Then, buy a XP disk and license if you do not have the XP license.

Save all your data because it will be lost during the installation of XP.

Then follow the steps below to do a clean install.

    http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp

Once installed, reload ALL your other programs of original media, or download again.

Reload all drivers and utilities for your motherboard.

    See you soon.
