  I have a slightly used good job G85, I've had since. It is also connected to my PC cable to printer large and more recently a USB cable. In Windows 10, it is detected as two separate printers in Control Panel. Right click on the USB watch version my OPTIONS for print or scan and solutions for the "Properties" but doesn't actually is. "Print test page" doesn't work anymore. Printer cable version prints fine but does me no scan options when right click. It's the way it has been all the time, he was running Windows 7. Today, I had the desire to analyze something so my addition of the USB cable. Has anyone has overcome the hurdle of getting the PC not only SEE the printer/scanner but actually communicate with her. BTW, I tried HP Print and Scan doctor but it blocks just about 45% of the way through 'communicate' even with my firewall disabled. I'm sure I have the latest drivers (2013).   Sorry for the late reply. What you suggested did NOT work. It came with an error message that says "cannot delete HP OfficeJet G85 mode user-3 of Type x 64 driver." The specified printer driver is currently in use. Then I looked into 'restart the print spooler' but I got nowhere with either.

  HOWEVER, this was working. Disconnected the two cables, uninstalled the two G85s, restarted the computer. Plugged in the USB cable, printer found by 10 PC/Windows. Test page printed successfully. THEN find new devices have crossed and had Windows search to scan it found and now it works as well.

  Even if your solution did not work in my case, I thank you for the time you took to answer.
