Is it possible to rearrage passwords saved in alphabetical order?
I have a lot of saved passwords I want to sort alphabetically. At present, for example, at the top of the list are yourhealthportal.com.au , b2c.csair.com and singpet.com.
n the bookmarks menu, it is possible to drag and drop items to another location in the list. Something like this is possible by password?
1 export IDs/passwords. Make two copies. (backup)
2 remove all passwords.
3. open one of the copies in a TEXT EDITOR which allows to sort.
4. highlight all lines that start with 'host of entry '.
5. sort the lines.
6. the import in
It will be an interim solution of sorts that firefox sorts of passwords based on the frequency of use. Alternatively, you may consider Keepass + Passifox

Can I save or export passwords saved with Firefox in order to get back them in a new computer?
I will soon get a new computer. Having a large number of websites and passwords saved in Firefox Mozilla respective access, it would be very convenient to be able to export this information to the new machine after installing Firefox, as you can do with bookmarks. Is it possible for password + Web sites?

Hi people warned @ Firefox,.
Could you tell me how it is possible that I have a password saved to my Hotmail account, but it does not appear in the list of the saved passwords? I know that it is saved because when I click on the link Outlook it opens Hotmail, and I can access my emails. How can I recover my password without going to Hotmail and reset?
Thank you!As long as you can get in hotmail now, you stand a good chance of sorting out the password.
I think Hotmail can use a site name, something like 'loginlive'.
It may also be that you have not saved the password on Firefox. Hotmail itself has an option for the connection to persist and to remember, which will use cookies.
Hotmail might have the password reset options, but that may depend on taking you measures in advance to set up an alternate e-mail address or other questions of method and or contact security. This is something that you should be able to do it right now if you are always connected to or able to connect.

How can I delete a password "saved" for a Web site on the Firefox browser?
I always ignore the possibility to save passwords, but see now that I must have clicked the wrong thing by mistake and he saved a password I don't want not saved for reasons of confidentiality and security. How can I remove this password 'remember'...? Thank you. Wish I could turn off the annoying function altogether as well... Grrrr!
Open the 'Settings' window (I have a German Version, and here is under Extras (probably ' options' in English-> settings).
Open the 'Security' tab and you will find a button for a list of all the passwords you have saved. Just mark that you want to delete and press 'delete '. -
All IT gurus out there who know Firefox... have lost the passwords saved when FF created a new profile and delete old files key3.dbf and logins.json profile. Any ideas, anyone?
So it's not a logins.json file?
I see a signons3.txt file and a file signons.sqlite older, if you can try to see if you can import passwords stored in this file.
You can force Firefox to re-import the passwords in the file signons.sqlite and regenerate the file logins.json with the following steps:
- reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the topic: config page by default via the context menu
- Delete the logins.json file in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder
When you restart Firefox, then you should have the pref signon.importedFromSqlite with the value set to true.
You have passwords that are imported in the password manager, unless there were errors or signons.sqlite signons3.txt.You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue. You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

Saved password may be in alphabetical order
Hello
I am a member of the Tagged site and play pets and have about 75 profiles. Is there anyway that Firefox can alphabetize the?
When watching one of your saved passwords put the domain name in the search field at top to see passwords only for this area. Then click on the username field header, so it is highlighted, to make an alphanumeric sort of name user. works even with the password field. By clicking on the header field again highlighted and it will alternate between sorting and 'high' kind 'down'.
Unfortunately, this is only a kind of temporary. It will disappear when the cover is closed. You could look for an add-on with a feature like this, but I have never seen one. The window of passwords saved by default to display in the field with an esoteric sort of alphanumeric order separated by a colon and the slashes; sort order is numerical followed by alpha and you consider it difficult to see the model of how he made the "sort".

What is "you want to update the password saved for"
Given that I deleted prefs.js and user.js when I connect to any account in the upper-left appears
"you want to update the password saved for" this interferes with the connection and now it won't let me connect you to your e-mail account.
I wonder where it appears? I don't want to use it and want better to delete, but don't know how?
I wanted to add a page in this issue, but as usual Firefox won't like that I guess. So, after this announcement I'll add.Thank you.
Hello
Thanks for the very useful reply.

Need to retrieve my passwords saved from a non-working Firefox Add on to Firefox reinstall.
Old computer died. Hard drive should be ok. Goes to put the old HDD in new PC as a second drive. I would like to recover passwords saved to installing Firefox.
The path under Vista and 7 is:
\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\ProfilesusernameC:\Users\
AppData is definitely a hidden folder, and the steps to the unhide on Windows 7 are: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../show-hidden-files.
