Is it possible to remove the boot.ini through desktop remotely?

If a user is logged on Windows XP or Windows 2003 via Office system remotely is it possible to remove him/herself the boot.ini by all means?

In a typical installation only partition of XP, it will boot fine without a boot.ini file (if not, there is another problem).

If the boot.ini file is missing, you will see a message like this:

Invalid BOOT. INI file
Booting from C:\windows\

XP always starts very well despite the message, then you can fix the missing file if that's your desire.

You're just a few experiences or y at - it any particular problem you're trying to solve?

  • Possible to remove the rechargeable battery (battery) for a long time?

I have laptop Satellite U940. Is it possible to remove the rechargeable battery, for example, for several months, while I use the laptop with external power only? Is - harmful to the battery?

When I'm at home, I usually use the laptop with external power supply only. I rarely need to the rechargeable battery.

Of course, it is possible and you can do it, but I really put t know if it's so important. Long time ago, that it has a meaning, but today, when the laptop uses the latest battery technology something like this is unnecessary.

I have old Satellite P200 and he is 5 years old. I ve never removed battery and even now I can use the laptop almost 2 hours on battery power (depends on the supply and usage parameters).

My advice is to use your laptop with battery and from time to time it is empty. These circles are good for the life of the battery.

  • XP pro do not start after changing the Boot.ini file

The problem is that my C: partition Windows 7
    D: has XP Pro

These should be considered right resp. partitions 1 and 2?

I wanted to first XP pro to start the default partition.

A few days ago, I made a change to the boot.ini file. But since XP Pro was not starting at all.

I tried XP Pro to start first that the default partition.

Given that XP Pro and my D: drive have not been starting, I consulted the boot.ini file in C:, Windows 7 partition and I changed the order (i.e. partition No.) in the boot.ini file and saved it to the required location, i.e. D:/WINDOWS/pss.
through my drive C: of work, i.e. the partition of Windows 7, but it still does not work because apparently even though I save here, the actual values and the paths of the partition are not actually be changed on the system. I confirmed this by going into the CMD shell switching to D: and by running the command D: > bootcfg.
Apparently any values I save in the boot.ini file that I save as a text file or "All files" in D:/WINDOWS/pss/it does not actually change in the system because whenever I run the command bootfg values are remaining still and not able to be changed, because apparently it is not saved in XP Pro and the D : partition. No matter what I do and what I put in the boot.ini file to access the values through the windows 7 partition, the values that bootcfg returns me are always the same and he refuses to change the name of path or anything else. No matter what orders, I also put in bootcfg himself.

These are the values that bootcfg gives me:
    default: multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS

    Boot entries:
    Boot entry ID: 1
Friendly name of operating system: MS Windows XP Professional
    Path: multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS
The operating system load options: / noexecute = OPTIN/FASTDETECT/usepmtimer

My XP Pro partition is simply not booting, and it of my main partition and has all my work. It is imperative that it starts.

My Windows CD is also not start because apparently my DVD drive does not work properly, I had the anti malware threatfire (ThreatFire) installed on my XP D:Windows program disk but have uninstalled just in case it was blocking my changes to the system.

On C:Win7, I put the default operating system option in the Advanced tab for Win7 and the D:XP Pro to XP Pro, when he was the starter and work. Now I can only access my files D:XP Pro Player C:Win7. But XP is not just start. What shd - I do? Thks.

I don't have a very practical windows CD but my CD/DVD drive is not read and does not properly.

Looks like your original post stated that your cd/dvd does not work.

Respectfully, you will continue these hap hazard patches and your computer will not start at all. I'll try to help you once again. Please follow closely.

Start your computer by loading Windows 7. Click HERE and download EasyBCD. Install the software in trial version. Once installation is complete open EasyBCD. You will see an interface like the image below. Click Add a new entry.

A new screen appears as in the image below. Use the drop down menu to select Windows NT / 2 k/XP / 2 k 3 as described below. Type the name of the operating system in the box below. Of course, it will be Windows Xp (you can add the home or Pro to the name if you want). Make sure now that there is a check mark in the box "automatically detect the correct player. Once you have completed these steps click on 'add an entry '. That's all! You are finished. If all goes well, and if you have followed these steps carefully, there, now you have a system dual boot.

You can now start working on your cd/dvd problem.

  • the Boot.ini file is missing

Miss me the boot.ini file, but I don't have a disc of xp files because windows xp is installed.  Should I buy windows xp to resolve this problem?

First of all, make sure that you have not left a CD/DVD in a drive that is checked for an operating system before the system partition of the hard drive. If there's nothing there, you should be able to repeat your BOOT. INI file.

XP BOOT. INI file resides in the root directory of the drive system (usually c :)). This is a simple text file, but marked as hidden. If you have another computer, you can create or copy one from a computer with a similar setup to yours (for example boot from C:, Windows XP files in c:\Windows, etc.).

The following can be copied into Notepad and saved to create a simple BOOT. INI file.
    [boot loader]
    timeout = 30
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional "/ fastdetect
If you have access to another computer, consider mount the hard drive broke as a slave and creation/copy of a BOOT. INI file in the root.

    Hello

    Method 1:

Album art should appear in the view "is on the air." However, if you select the album of the artist, the album art is not displayed.

In the upper right corner there is Options to view fall down. Change the details to tiles view expanded and the cover of the album should reappear.

If this does not help, then go to the center of the Action. Click on troubleshooting.

Click Show all on the left side, and then select Windows Media Player troubleshooting
    Options.

Refer to this link and check if it helps:

    Method 2:

Try to clear the database of Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
    c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Is it possible to remove the disposable disc to a pool configuration in VMware View?

I would like to remove the option of disposable disc several persistent pools in VMware View Horizon 5.3.1 (where virtual machines are already using disposable disks); However, there doesn't seem to be a way to do this in the options of the pool. Is it possible to remove the disk otherwise option or should I remove the old pool and create a completely new without this option enabled?

I used disposable disk option seems to be to save storage space, but I discovered that disposable disks have been updated only when displaying launched a turning off the virtual machines in the pool (which never happens). I thought that disposable records updated each time that a client shutdown/restarted the VM... but which is not the case. Given this information, I would like to stop using disposable disks as they really may not confer any advantage the way our persistent virtual machines are configured.

Thanks in advance for any help!

OK, you're right... only the drive letter customization is allowed.

Now to answer your question, the one and only formally is to remove the pool by archiving all disks persistent (user data disk), and then create a pool with the same name (but without SDS).

In addition, select all the archived UDD and then click on, "recreate". All new desktop computers will be recreated with the new spec,

Another way (not officially committed / not sure of its effects)

EAP-SVIVmPersistentDiskSpec entry will be there to ADAM OR = database server groups (VMware KB: connecting to the Database View ADAM)

This entry will be there for disposable system that has a parameter "DiskUsage is SystemDisposable".

Upron deleting the corresponding entry * may * end configuring don't not the SSD for the supply of others.

  • Cannot convert win2k server - fails with the boot.ini on the version 3 and 4 error!

    Hello

I am trying to convert an old win 2000 Server on an esx server, and I'm having a little trouble.  I am trying to run the converter and version 3 already tried with no luck.  On version 3, it manages at the end, think 97% I think and fails.  When I look in the logs of the converter, it seems to resemble a mistake with the boot.ini file.  I left the server for some time and today I have just spotted that the new version of the converter is out and although I'd give it a try.

Unfortunately, I will have a chance to convert the server again.  It is not the last step.  Ive joined the output of the converter v4 logs.

Here are the contents of the boot.ini file:

    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Server "/ fastdetect

I would appreciate any advice or tips that I've been struggling with this and I have to get the server took off the old hardware that crack, on which it is running.

  • Is it possible to remove the yellow text in the whole of the document?

I have the same problem as the one that is mentioned here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1155089 in my case the yellow background is already in the pdf file that was created with a printer virtual pdf and then manipulated with another pdf editor.  Accidentally, I noticed that it is possible to remove the background yellow in Acrobat Pro, as if I want to change an object. Get rid of it, on each page by hand would be a daunting task. Is it possible to do somehow with the entire document? Any help would be appreciated.

    see you soon

BTW: The yellowish background does not appear in the other pdf viewers.

Looking at the file, it appears that the colored boxes are actually part of the record. You can see if you open the content pane. You will find may be easier to delete in the content pane. They seem to be incorporated into the file when the text is applied. Your PDF creation software has the ability to disable this option?

Another possibility (suggested to Dave Merchant) is to do the following to remove it from all pages automatically:

    • Convert colors to push the entire document in a single area, such as Swop2
    • All of your yellow boxes are now something about 3.4% yellow (find out with the inspection of a yellow box)
    • Create a new Preflight Check to detect objects with exactly this percentage of yellow plate
    • Create a new correction to move the objects identified by this audit in a new layer, then run
    • Turn the layer off, now you can print the file
