  Thanx got fixed, had a boyfriend of work come and he found the answer on page 3, it was the USB driver had to be removed and reinstalled with the right pair on the ASUS website

  I searched on the web before and there was a workaround solution that you put the CD in and reboot and it would work and it is indeed, but it's a pain that every time I work on the Macbook and in the middle of something and I want to insert a CD that I have to close everything and restart to get the disc inside!

  Once I do that, it works fine and I can eject and insert it again normally, but the first time I have to restart first, and since it's an external drive, I have connected it all the time, so whenever I connect it, I have to redo this same process.

  I was hoping with the last update that this problem could have been resolved for me obviously it's a software problem because it came with the upgrade to El Capitan, I've improved in later, but still problem is there.
