  Each time the upgrade does not support Windows 7 Ultimate, higher editing support is Home Premium. If you have a license Windows 7 Ultimate retail (upgrade or full version), you can use the product key as well as upgrade Express do the upgrade in Home Basic.

  You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

  Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

  Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

  I bought a Lenovo Thinkcentre all in one office that was preloaded with Windows 7 Home Basic Edition. The retailer said that it is preloaded with genuine windows. I downloaded Windows Activation Technologies show that "this computer is not running genuine windows" but when I go into the properties of my computer, it shows that windows is activated. There is also an OEM license with me. I also have the product key with me.   It is not DDR3 or DDR2 even... it's the original DDR, just DDR PC2700 aka. PC3200 or DDR400 (same thing) also works

  

  One of the great debacle of recent years was when the industry was selling computers with 512 MB Vista. They have been slow and caused much of the poor reception for Vista. Windows 7 manages memory better than Vista and "work" on 512 megs, but there is nothing you want to try to use.

  Yes, you can upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. You do not lose the pre-installed software & drivers, if you upgrade. If you perform a clean install of Ultimate, you will lose all the pre-installed software.

  Please indicate if the system recovery ran and finished or you were unable still to start the recovery. Depending on the exact cause, you may be able to fix the "bootmgr missing" error using a Windows 7 installation DVD. If you need a disc to Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own. If you created this disk, you can boot from it and select 'Repair' to try to solve the current problem.

  Select repair your computer. After several screens, you will come to choice. Select command prompt. Type bootrec /RebuildBcd.  Then type Exit

   

  Select "Startup Repair" and let it run. Reboot the laptop.

  I use Windows Vista Home Basic on a Dell Inspiron 1501.  I have recently accepted that some guest downloads Windows with terrible results.  First downloads do not appear to have been accepted and the system of guard stop and startup trying to cancel.  Second as I result, I seem to have lost access to a range of Windows tools.  For example in Panel I can't open system icons or Windows Update.  Nor can I access these services from any other avenue on the computer.  Whenever I have find an icon or a file screen flashes a dialog briefly and then disappears.  The effect of this is that I'm completely unable to access or to implement the recommended tools or services that could solve this problem.  My ability to manage my computer has been reduced to zero.  Dell were not receptive and I can't get a response from Microsoft
