  • When Microsoft will release SP1 for Windows 7?

I'm curious as to the criteria that Microsoft uses to determine where they should go out a certain Service Pack for their operating systems.  IM counting 43 updates already installed for my OS to Windows 7 and this OS is officially released less than a month. Im not here to complain the number of patches. Its impressive speed at which they release security patches when they occur. But my complaint would be more to have to download and individually install all these fixes in the future, if I were ever a reason any. Once again, what my question is, when can we expect the first Service Pack 1 for Windows 7, and what criteria are going to Microsoft during this decision to release a Service Pack?

P.S. For the record I think that its sad that Microsoft does not release a Service Pack 4 for Windows XP. IM already on Windows 7, but many people don't. Even if the system fades into history, it all seems like the right thing to do given the number of a security updates for the operating system from the SP3. System configuration: Winndows 7 RTM, Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L motherboard, Intel Pentium Dual - Core E6300 Wolfdale 2.8 GHz, 4 GB of memory PC-1066 DDR2 Patriot Viper, 500 GB Western Digital hard drive, GeForce 8800GT Videocard

  • Is there a version of Microsoft Digital Image Pro for Windows 8

On Windows 8, I want to edit and retouch my photos.  Is there a new software or application that replaces Microsoft Digital Image Pro?

    Hi Tecox45,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I would like to inform you that Microsoft has stopped the production of Digital Image Pro, and there isn't an app store for the same thing, too.

However, on the good side is several new software developed by Microsoft that thwart the features of Digital Image Pro.

  • When Microsoft will fix curfew in Windows parental control?

I see several long discussions relating to problems with the parental curfew of Windows.  But no solution to the problem.  I am running the latest version ( 15.4.3555.308). I activated the parental control. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program.  My problem is identical to many others in the forum - it worked for a little while then quit.  Where is the real fix for the current problem.

    Hi FltCoat,

There are several factors on why curfew sometimes do not work. To have fix us the problem, follow these steps:

    1. There is a newer version of Windows Essentials, which includes a newer version of parental control. You can download it here:

    Windows Essentials

    2. make sure to ensure that you have updated parental controls filter each time you make changes to the settings. You can follow the steps detailed here:

  • Is Microsoft Failover Cluster ESXi 4.1 Shared Disk of NFS data store, it supported?

Is Microsoft Failover Cluster ESXi 4.1 Shared Disk of NFS data store, it supported?

We have a request from MS Failover Cluster configuration on Windows 2008 R2 2 guests with a storage shared for a web application. However, there is no VMFS storage of data or the ability of the CF to presending RDM. So, I created the disks shared on a NFS datastore using option "Setup for Failover Clustering and Microsoft Cluster Service" and have added the cluster disk and tested successful failover.

But the MS cluster validation control cancelled storage and I want to know if that configuration is not taken because of supported.

    A notice would be useful.

We are also working on setting up a cluster of ESXi for iSCSI storage, which can be leveraed for this purpose.

    Its not supported.

4.1, your only options supported are:

    • CF storage with pRDMs

  • CUSTOM1 and Custom2 columns do not retain data when copying music from one computer to another or the removal of a disc external hard is there a fix for this

I use windows media play to organize my music with various information.  I recently bought another computer to contain music.  Copied music from the folder on a windows xp on a windows system system 7.  All data for all columns except columns Custom1 and Custom2 was preservered.  Is this a known issue?  If so, is there a solution?  If there is not a fix is there a workaround.  Which is a file that is associated with the music files that can be retrieved and updated with the correct information.

Note the same issue occurs on the same system for the music that resides on an external hard disk if the hard drive is cut then re add the files to the library and once they are added all the previous metadatsa entered for all the columns are again the same as previously entered excpet for the the cutom1 and the custom2 colums

  • When will to stop Microsoft support Windows 7 Starter?

    My question is that simple;

When Microsoft stop supporting Windows 7 Starter? Or it has already stopped?

In terms of supported Microsoft does not distinguish between different versions of a specific version of Windows. If all versions of Windows 7 will continue to be on a general public support until January 12, 2015. This is because all versions of Windows 7 are the same at the base with different features enabled or disabled according to the license.

The general term is his 'life' and details for Windows 7 can be found here. Of course, they could remove a particular version of sale at any time as is currently "to be determined".

  • What is the date format used in the charts of Microsoft Support policy? Is the day/month/year or month/day/year?

For example, the Date of beginning of life cycle shows 31/05/2001 (March 5) and the end of Support Date extended watch 07/12/2001 (12 July or December 7).

The date format is month/date/year. This format is for the start date and end date for extended Support.
In your example, the start date is May 31, 2001, and the end date would be July 12, 2001.

    I hope this helps.

  • Microsoft Support pages are not viewable in Firefox (I tried to disable the modules and plugins)

  • Everyone has been contacted by Microsoft support? I got a call from people today who say they were in New Jersey...

I was contacted by phone by a person who identified themselves as being a Microsoft technician this afternoon.  After asking how much of my family's computers, they told me that our system had been compromised and that they would help us fix.  After walking me through obtaining of Event Viewer, they transferred me to another person who was the senior technician (or so they said).  I asked where they were from my number identified the call came from a number of British Colombia (where I live) and the installation was based in New Jersey.  Unfortunately, the infection from the system has been resolved, as the higher tech hung up before that.

    Follow these steps carefully:

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running

    cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
