Is there a way to make a gradient in two-dimensional?

I have a rectangle with a number of vertical gradients, what I would like is to add a horizontal gradient, to have all that fade to white along the x-axis. Is it possible to do this?

Add an another fill in the appearance palette, give it a gradient with a 90 degree angle, make a fine 0% opacity white, the other 100% white. close?
