    The cause of my problem was the jump lists, which has Windows 7. There are two types of jump lists, automatic or custom. Automatic jump lists caused the slow decline in firefox via Windows Explorer. Finally, it was a windows problem exploring and not firefox.     These registry cleaners are snake oil.  They do little or no good and can cause serious problems.  Regarding unwanted cleaners, there is a good one built into Windows 7, and we know it's safe.  If you click on start-> computer, then click on the C: drive and click Properties, you can then click the disk cleanup button and it will clean the junk files.

  • Firefox starts slow, but works well in safe mode with all the running addons - why?

    Then... all of a sudden my Firefox (v. 38.0.1) is really laggy, with slow-to-respond buttons, scrolling etc. So I manually disable all addons, but nothing helped. Then I try safe mode and it works very well. Large. So I turn on my addons again one by one, until they are all allowed and it still works fine. My conclusion: it isn't the addons. What is what is the cause? I have updated all my addons and just Silverlight, Flash, Google updater, Shockwave and some others.
    One solution would be for this mode - Safe with addons running - being my default start mode, but I can't work out how to do it. Is no huge problem because I can make Firefox work perfectly, but it's a little bit of your time.
