Is this a fake pop-up?

I got a pop up, suggesting that it was an official message from Firefox on the need for an update, through http://www.patheos.com/galleries/. It was of course wrong for me and I thought that you might want to know about it.

I looked at www.pathoes.com. It is a legitimate and non-dangerous web site. However, the /galleries/ postfix results in a page "error 404 not found." If your pop-up was supposed to apply on an update of Firefox, it would be more prudent to do not click on that. You could ensure that your version of Firefox is common, but don't do it through the patheos.

    Hello

    Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    It seems a problem with missing or damaged system files. I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
    Method 1:
    Let flow the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if it helps.
    Microsoft security scanner: http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
    Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. During these 10 days, it will remove all the files infected by the virus and records. I suggest you create a backup of your data, and then install Microsoft Safety Scanner.

    Method 2:
    Run the scan tool (SFC) System File Checker and check if it helps.
    How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista: http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 3:
    Try to create a new user account and check if it helps.
    Create a user account: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows-vista/Create-a-user-account
    If the problem is resolved in the new user account, this means that the old user profile is damaged. Here is the link to repair a user account damaged: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

  • Disable "Do you want to put an end to this process?" pop up

    What is a necessity to do to eliminate that pop-up of the elimination of the unnecessary process (do you want to put an end to this process?) that anyone gets any time we use the Task Manager to remove a process? Do it!!

    I was unable to find a way to remove the warning message - I think that it is incorporated into the code.  I searched the registry and found no entry to complete the process and nothing meaningful for same Task Manager - so it must be controlled by a system file which, if we could find the same, cannot be changed by all the means available to us (which means that you or me or probably anyone outside the development of Microsoft).  I suspect that they put there to make sure that a process or service, or that is not finished by accident (which could cause the system to crash).  In fact, despite the annoyances (like you, I too would turn off if it were possible, because I am convinced that what I'm doing), I agree here because the consequences of a mistake can be severe, and too many people are not careful enough when you press the buttons.

    Then I tried to use another program, Process Explorer, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx which is an improved version of the Task Manager. However, when I went to kill a process, I had again a confirmation warning message - if this isn't a way to bypass the confirmation message.

    Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but this confirmation message cannot be disabled.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Why do I get this exception - anti-pop: UiEngine is null! = net.rim.device.api.ui.UiEngineImpl@1ee2b551

    It happens when this code is run:

    public void popMyScreen(){  if (screen != null){    Application.getApplication().invokeLater( new Runnable(){        public void run() {           try{          UiEngine ui = Ui.getUiEngine();           ui.popScreen(screen);     }catch(Throwable e){      if (TasteMyCity.getDebug())TasteMyCity.writelog("******* TasteMyCity popMyScreen  ",e);       screen=null;  }    }});}}

    The method is called from a number of places in my code - but sine I put everything in the Ui thread, I thought it would work like this.

    PS: This error message, what is happening in my journal it's track of the stack also has this:

    GraphicsInternal.updateDisplayFromBackBuffer (int, int, int, int, int, int) line: 1132
    UiEngineImpl.removeScreenInternal (Screen) line: 2001

    Most, if not all of them actually run on the thread of events, so you work for yourself.  In addition, given that you have placed the code one invokeLater, you don't need to use the UiEngine looking for the current UiApplication approach - you can use UiApplication.getUiApplication ()...

    Can I ask you to change the code as follows, but put to debug the instructions in the "exceptions" I note so that we can understand what exceptions occur.  You can throw a RuntimeException to each point, if you wanted to, that would get us an at least Stack Trace.

    public void popMyScreen() {}
    If (display! = null) {}
    Application screenApp = screen.getApplication ();
    If (screenApp == null) {}
    Believe that this means that the screen has already been jumped
    return;
    }
    final UiApplication runningApp = UiApplication.getUiApplication ();
    If (runningApp! = screenApp) {}
    This application cannot jump the screen anyway!
    return;
    }
    If (!) () runningApp instanceof )) {}
    Works do not our application!
    Should we be popping screen of others?
    return;
    }
    If {(UiApplication.isEventDispatchThread ())}
    runningApp.popScreen (screen);
    screen = null;
    return;
    }
    runningApp.invokeLater (new Runnable() {}
    public void run() {}
    try {}
    runningApp.popScreen (screen);
    } catch (Throwable e) {}
    If (TasteMyCity.getDebug ()) TasteMyCity.writelog("*** TasteMyCity popMyScreen",e);
    screen = null;
    }
    }
    });
    }

    If this happens on several different sites, it could be caused by an add-on which is by train (default?) to access pages or modify itself in response to the pages.
