ISE 1.1.4 and AD 2012 Windows

Hello.

I'm trying raise 802. 1 x authentication certificate and running. I want to use the user and computer certificate.

On v1.1.4 "Vanilla", I get an error message with the user certificate. After some reading, it appears support for 2012 AD was added in patch 2.

So I installed the patch 4, and user certificate authentication works!

But I still have problems with machine certificate authentication.

I get these errors:

Machine on Active Directory authentication failed.

Check if the machine account is active and present in Active Directory. Also check whether Active Directory is available.

But the machine is present and active in AD.

And AD works too. I know through the user certificate authentication, because the binary comparison is enabled:

Looking 24432 user in Active Directory - [email protected] / * /

24469 the user certificate was extracted from Active Directory successfully

22054 binary comparison of the certificates was successful

Authentication 22037 spent

12506 EAP - TLS authentication successful

If Windows Server 2012 AD is supported for the authentication of the computer? Or should I go go v1.2 for whom?

Or it could just be something wrong with my setup

Thank you.

Hello

Support for 2012's official in 1.2, the release notes for lists this as a new feature.

  • PERC S300 and R2 2012

Hi, I saw some documents last year which says that Dell does not intend to create a driver for use with the Perc S300 and R2 for Windows Server 2012. This situation is even position? If Yes, what is the best option for my brand new PowerEdge R210 II? I would rather use hardware RAID than software RAID on what happens to be a domain controller. The server has two installation disks in a RAID 1 array. Any help, suggestions and advice are welcome. Thank you!

  • Reattach the EqualLogic iSCSI for 2012 Windows volumes

    Hello

We use EqualLogic, Windows 2008R2, HIT and initiator iSCSI access volumes. Now I'm re - install OS to Windows 2012. All materials, IP addresses, volumes, host name will be the same on the new operating system. BONES of some changes. Will it be the right way to remap the iSCSI volumes to the new operating system:

    1. on windows 2008 R2 take the volume offline in the disk management console.
    2. disconnect "Discovered targets" in the Windows iSCSI initiator.
3 collect volumes offline in Manager Dell EqualLogic Group (to restore the connections).
    4. the new 2012 Windows Installer 4.5 HIT and set (is this version of the correct software for Windows 2012?)
5 activate the volumes in the Dell EqualLogic Group Manager.
    6. Discovery target and connect to targets.
7 collect volumes online in the OS disk management console.

    These steps are correct?
    Are they all necessary?
Is a correct software 4.5 for windows 2012 HIT?

    Thank you

Re: connections.  Are you referring to the iSCSI to table sessions?   If so, those are dynamic.  When you stop they will disappear.

If everything is the same, so technically Yes.  Shutdown, you can reload and bring it to the top.

  • Problem with OpenManage on a T300 with R2 2012 Windows

When I install OpenManage on a PowerEdge T300 with R2 2012 Windows and it is originally a 'limited' warning of network connectivity and connection to the gateway is lost. I have to run a network card 'repair' every time that the alert go away and the restored network connection. Even after a reboot, I still have to run the repair. When I uninstall OMSA network card works fine. I tried OMSA version 7.3, 7.4, 7.4.0.2, 8.1. The matrix of compatibility on the Dell site seems to show that it should be compatible with 8.1 and 7.4 (on a T300 with 2012 R2). Our network card is a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit (version 17.0.0.3 driver). Everyone knows about this problem? I come to a legacy version, although compatibility documentation does not appear 2012 R2 as as operating system supported?

    Tstout21,

The problem you are having sounds like an updated version of firmware on the network card. I suggest you uninstall OMSA, then restart and update the network map. Although the update of the firmware should fix, I suggest that we update the driver as well up-to-date. You can not the driver and firmware here. After completing the updates, restart and go forward then reinstall OMSA.

Let me know how it goes.

  • DELL PowerEdge T710 support for 2012 Windows

    Hello

I was reading this document on the support Windows 2012:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/OS-applications/w/wiki/4149.Dell-PowerEdge-server-support-for-Windows-Server-2012-and-its-features.aspx

If I understand correctly T710 is supported for the installation of Windows 2012 as:

    Support Dell - qualified.

And 'X' means that the long-term 2012 Windows: error memory consumed, Collaborative processor performance counters, logic processor idling, compatible device name are not supported on this server. Only SR-IOV future is supported?

    Thank you

That is right.  Consumed memory error, the processor performance counters Collaborative, idling logical processor and compatible device Naming are only available on generation servers 12.   Server 2012 will take place on the T710.

    Kind regards

  • The Dell R710 server upgrade to R2 2012 Windows

    Question for the forum:

I have a Dell R710 server.  There a PERC 6 / i RAID card in there.  There are discs 5 x 2 TB on the PERC 6 / I configured in RAID-5 right now with the 6th disc as a 480 GB SSD.   I currently own WINDOWS 2012 R2 installed.   Windows 2012 sees the TB 5 x 2 as a 7.27 TB HDD and the 480 GB SSD as a second hard drive.

I heard the Windows 2012 R2 storage solution is best.  I want to convert the TB 5 x 2 hard drives just so R2 2012 Windows can control it.  I have the following questions:

    1. What do I have to go in PERC 6 / I controller and remove the RAID 5 and create a virtual disk for each 2 TB as a RAID-0 disk drive so that Windows can see each as separate hard drive?

    2. each of the 2 TB is a SATA II drive.  PERC 6 / I can only support up to 2 TB to 3 Gbps.  What is the best way to do it?  Can I upgrade to SATA III drives or 6 Gbps?  This server which will support at all?  I have

    3. If I install a SATA III controller in the PCIe slot, how can I plug SATA III drives to the card.  All drives are connected to the server to forward now.

4 If a disk fails, Dell R710 will still flash light orange on the forehead to show what defective hard drives?  People still hot to swap the drive?

    5. Windows 2012 R2 will be able to tell what defective hard drives?  With 5 x 2 to for the storage and 480 GB put in place in the SSD for tiered storage, which is the best way to configure it for performance?  Simple volume or mirror?  How many drives can fail until Windows cannot recover from the failure?

Please advise on the best way to convert more software raid WINDOWS 2012 R2.  Thanks for the help in advance!

    1. This is the only way to make available to Windows as separate disks, as the PERC 6 does not support the RAID/JBOD.

    2. the PERC 6 supports a maximum drive size of 2 TB. The material is limited to 3 Gbps. You can use 6 GB/s drives, but they will operate as discs 3 Gbps.

    3. you will need to connect a cable from the backplane to the new controller, instead of the 6 PERC. Backplane may not support 6 GB/s speed, if you plug a controller 6Gbps 6Gbps drives and they bind upward to 3 Gbps, that is why.

    4. Yes.

    5. Yes. How can fail depends on how you have set it up and how much data is there.

  • Great migrations: move from vCenter 5.1 on Windows 2008R2/SQL 2008 5.1 or 5.5 on 2012 2012 Windows/SQL

In anticipation of the end of mainstream support for Windows Server 2008 R2, I want to migrate an installation vCenter to a whole new server and MS SQL Server.

It is a virtual machine running in my host cluster. There Server vCenter Update Manager, Converter Standalone and some services not VMware that I can handle it myself. ADAM is installed as part of the vCenter Server requirements, and it is also attached to an AD domain where I use AD, single sign - on.

The host cluster is four 5.1 ESXi hosts that are up to date, and helped HA and DRS. They use also switches distributed to all of their network connectivity, including vMotion, management, fault tolerance (although I do not use FT) and virtual machines.

I did upgrades on-site to vCenter before and I replaced SQL Express with SQL Standard on the same server, but I did not move before vCenter. I'd make some drastic measures, as I understand:

    * Complete backups (of course) of SQL in the server itself, ADAM

Installation of a new server operating system and SQL 2012

Withdrawal of databases and reinstall them on the new server

    * Restoration of ADAM on the new server

    Installation vCenter, Update Manager, etc.

    * Hoping the host cluster is mounted on the new server, and nothing breaks

I'm not all that worried about maintaining statistics, so maybe it is possible to install a new server vCenter Server and simply move the host cluster from the old server to the new. I moved one vCenter to another host, but that was before I put in place of distributed switching.

I found this on a related post:

Migration in a new vCenter VMware environment. IT diversifies

This manual seems to echo what I've read so far, I had to disassemble the distributed switches until I can migrate any host to a new server vCenter. Yuck. Well, I've migrated from the standard to the switches distributed without downtime before, so I can do the opposite.
