  I am running Windows 8 Pro (not upgraded from a version), with most of the windows/microsoft updates run manually.  I am on a domain, WSUS Setup on a flavor of 32-bit Win Srvr 2003 for updates automated for my laptop running Win 8 and all the pc / laptop and most of the servers.  All major updates to WSUS and the server operating system are applied.  This server applies updates for about 200 computers.  I have the only Win 8 machine.

  I get the error message: "WindowsUpdate_800B0001 or WindowsUpdate_dt000" on my Win 8 machine and nothing else;  I googled and found tons of this generic Windows Update error.  This error applies to most versions of Windows.  I tried running sfc/scannow, I tried running a few Win Upd automated fix - its.  I tried some updates running on WSUS servers are not normally applied as suggested in various forums.  Bottom line, is that I can not update automated from the WSUS server. It is worth noting that our antivirus is disabled when trying to solve problems.

  I have Satellite A100, STUPIDLY, I spilled coke on the keyboard and now the laptop is showing the following behaviors:

  1 screen backlight turns off after the bios screen

  Hello, not for long installed MSE windows.microsoft.com/MSE. The thing is that I have Avast! Free Antivirus installed on my laptop. After that I installed MSE when he started to update my laptop froze just wouldn't move, I had to manually shut down.
