issue of lion, mavericks, yosemite?

Hello

I have a question. My sister gave me her laptop macbook and has clear all on it. So he returned to the 2010 Macbook software.  I noticed that he had no FaceTime, iBook, Photo, Photo Booth etc. So I had to download OS X El Capitan. And now I have the FaceTime, iBook, Photo, Photo Booth. But I noticed that iMessage is missing. I went to search my purchased applications and I realize that I do not download OS X Yosemite, OS X Mavericks and OS X Lion. But my software OS X El Capitan. It would mess to the top of my laptop if I just download Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite and get installation?

Thank you!

The original OS on the 2010 Macbook was the snow leopard, you who installed correct disc? Your Macbook, if it indeed is a 2010 model, is very capable of running ElCapitan but you should spend at least 8 GB, 16 GB max ram in this machine. 10.7 lion becomes long in the tooth and a paid upgrade if you choose (I wouldn't) http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion

10.8 mountain lion is also an upgrade pay http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion

MAvericks and Yosemite are no longer available. I don't know what are your plans for this Macbook or the amount of ram you have now. If it were mine I increase the ram and run ElCaptian as a free update.

Your best source for ram is OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_Whi you

and Crucial http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Apple/macbook-%2813-inch%2C-mi-2010% 29

Avoid the other brands of ram because they are likely to be in trouble.

  • Protection of the projects during the upgrade of the Lion in Yosemite

Hello world!  Does anyone know how to protect themselves from projects during the upgrade of the Lion to the operating system of Yosemite?  I heard shops of the horror of people the upgrade of an operating system to another and then having to rebuild their projects in the new operating system and I want to avoid if I can.  If there is no way to do so, any ideas on the record of ongoing projects would be greatly appreciated.  I have been turned off of this update forever and you have to do as soon as POSSIBLE.  I'm currently under OS X 10.9.5 and FCPX 10.1.4.  Thank you!

10.9.5 are Mavericks. Could indicate you these horror stories? They may contain information that is largely obsolete. You want to check any third-party software and plugins to make sure they are compatible with the latest operating system.

  • Update of os x Lion at Yosemite has failed

    Hey,.

I came across a problem where I thought my MB Pro 11 (with installed Yosemite) was officially dead. The computer was in mode 'sleep' and when I tried to log in, it just crashed and stops completely. Tried it reboot and relative to the signature treat it just keeps loading and nothing happens until she stopped just by itself.

I thought that the problem was the hard drive and I completely erased and downloaded the OSX Lion 10.7.5.

Lion is fluid, but the problem is that I can't update to Yosemite more... I tried repartitioning the hard drive, and it did not help. App store allows you to download the software but at the end of the download it says only: cannot download this software... I thought that I needed to download a previous version of Mac OS x, but it's the same thing.

All the tips and tricks that I have not tried that could work?

    Thank you!

Hello, first of all, check if you have enough available storage to download the update. Then, see more information here to upgrade the software on your Mac - Apple Support

  • Updated since 10.8.5 Lion in Yosemite?

I want to move to El Capitan of Lion, but I can't because my music software (Cubase) will not work with CBS.

I jumped the OS update to Yosemite (new Mac person afraid scars of Windows updates), but now I'm trying to find where to download it and just voids. I'm confused as to why Apple deletes just the latest operating system in the store. I find it impossible to find anywhere.

Can anyone help on where I could find Yosemite?

You need to clarify what you are doing.

    1 10.8.5 isn't Mountain Lion, Lion.

    2. unless you have downloaded Yosemite last year, it is no longer available.

  • From: Return to the Mavericks Yosemite

    Hello!

How can I downgrade Yosemite 10.10.5 (current operating system) back to the Mavericks? I'd rather have the look and performance of the Mavericks.

I don't have a Time Machine backup of the Mavericks any longer that I upgraded to Yosemite, about five months ago. Mavericks Time Machine would be to old to use anyway.

Installed Mavericks 10.9.5 on an external drive for now. I have everything there that I'll copy the external drive on the internal drive.  What are the options I have to get my files from Yosemite to the new installation of Mavericks?

    Thanks in advance!

    AJ

If you have the Mavericks installed on an external HARD drive, which prevents you to transfer data to the user from the HARD of Yosemite drive disk HARD the Mavericks?  Once you have the drive external HARD (with the Mavericks) set to your satisfaction, wipe the internal HARD drive and clone the HARD the Mavericks for the disk drive HARD internal.

You can use disk utility > restore or third party software such as Carbon Copy Cloner.  The two will also create the recovery partition.

    Ciao.

  • Issue of C1765nfw and Yosemite.

Since the installation of Yosemite om my Mac, my Dell C1765nfw printer will only print single copies. If you request multiple copies, it fails with the following message:

On the same network, with a computer with the Mavericks, it prints very well.

    Even at home too.

    I reinstalled the drivers.

A kind poster on another forum gave me a temporary solution that worked for me. It's here - use at your own risk:

    1. under the spotlight of Terminal Type and then press ENTER.

This should bring up the terminal window/program.

    2. in the Terminal type

    sudo sh - c "echo"Sandboxing Relaxed"> etc/cups/cups-files.conf"

It will ask you your password (if you type it is hidden). After this series of type:

    sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd

After that if you are lucky, the printer driver must start working. (which he did in my case)

If you want to revert the changes bring the terminal

    type cd/etc/cups

type sudo nano cups - files.conf

After that, enter your password again

then you are in an editor that allows you to edit the file

Remove the last line that says Sandboxing relaxed

    Press ctrl x

    Confirm by y

then press enter to save the file

    After this question again

    sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd

  • Having major compatibility issues with Adobe, Mac Yosemite and Wacom Cintiq programs companion hybrid.

Since I upgraded my Mac iOS Yosemite, my Adobe CS6 programs do not work well at all. They start very well, but the menu windows acting weird, often forcing me by dint leave whenever I try to do something. I downloaded programs CC trials and some may work better for me, but most have similar problems when I try to use on the Wacom. I'll explain my setup, and exactly what is happening...

I own an iMac end 2012 model (the one without the cd player) and a Wacom Cintiq hybrid companion that I use as a secondary display design. The screen Wacom is under my iMac in the settings screen, since my Wacom rest below the iMac screen. Think Nintendo DS... like how the lower screen is touch screen... same deal here.

When I open Photoshop CS6, CS6 Illustrator or even Illustrator CC and move them on my Wacom screen, the 'new' window is aligned with the top of the screen, cutting off buttons and options I need. I can't reposition the window because the upper part is necessary to move it. In the case of the window 'opens', it does not at all appear, but it blocks my program. It is as if he wants me to cancel the open window, but the window is not on any screen. That's when I have to force quit. I also noticed that sometimes it seems you have a 3rd office every time I enter the mission control afterwards. I have no idea why this is so.

The only option that I know to get around these problems is to put my screen on the mirror and mirror of the iMac screen mode, but not only I have to go into settings and recalibrate my pen, whenever I want to use these programs, but it's a major drawback when I fight for space on my screen since I was only 1 working with this mode. And just to be clear that CC Photoshop works perfectly for me. No compatibility issues he Fortunately, but if it works well with my setup, then why don't the others. Worse yet, I don't know who is at fault... What is an Adobe problem, a problem of Yosemite or a problem of Wacom... I do not know.

Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to the 'default' permissions that need to be changed

  • Lion and Yosemite on same Mac (different readers). It work?

I'm running Lion on my Mac and want to install a NEW drive and put the top Yosemite. The CC will work on both, or will I have to deal with something? Should I put applications in a shared folder, or am I supposed to get a new download for each operating system? Which will cost me more money? I want to keep Lion of exploitation for several programs that probably do not work on Yosemite.

    Thank you

    Ron

Ron, you should be able to install Mac OS 10.7 and 10.10.  You want to install the applications on both drives as shared components must be installed in each operating system.  You can find details about the installation process to install and update the apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

Finally, you'll turn to the maximum amount of activations allowed with two facilities.  Please see help Activation & deactivation - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html in the case where you receive messages about activation.

  • Fusion 7.1 with the issue of unity of Yosemite

I have a strange problem with Fusion on Yosemite when I try to use the unit. My guest is Windows 7 Enterprise, fully patched.

When I try to open up more, but not all, applications, I repeatedly get a warning similar to the following:

You open the application '< Windows Application >' for the first time. Are you sure you want to open this application?

The application is in a folder named "Applications". To see the application in the Finder without opening it, click view the Application.

This happens even if I opened the application several times.

I think I may have found the culprit.

Launch Services database. I ran the following command:

    /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -all local,system,user

And now, merger seems to be encouraged not everytime I open an Application!

  • connectivity internet airport

Internet connectivity on mac os x 10.3.9 and airport 4.2 issues

The AirPort Express 802.11n 2nd generation needs at least the utility AirPort 5.6.1 or higher to be implemented.  This means that you must have a Mac running OS Leopard or Snow Leopard for utility AirPort 5.6.1.

Or, if you have a Mac running Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite or El Capitan, these operating systems could also be used to configure the AirPort Express Terminal.

  • How can I find my model TC?

Now that Apple has dropped support for some older products, including a few Capsules of time, I wanted to check if I got one of these models. I can't find any info on the Time Capsule itself, but the Airport utility shows me a serial number.  Is there a place where I can no longer watch serial number in some other way that I can find more information on what model I have? (I only remember not that long ago, I bought a large, but I'm not even sure how much storage it is on it or is it a 802.11 n, ac or what)  Thank you

Apple has fallen not supported of the any Time Capsule models in terms of software and firmware.

Assuming you have a Mac running a recent operating system such as Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite or El Capitan...

    Open AirPort Utility

Hold down the option on your Mac so you double-click on the icon for Time Capsule

The summary page displays the model you have

Post back with the model that you have, and we can tell you a bit more about this.

  • Reinstall Lion 10.7.5

    Hello

I have an iMac, it s a little old, since 2011.

I m still using OS X Lion and I have to do a full restore. It has a few problems and I´d like to get rid of them.

As far as I know I do it in disk/Restore utility, then the OS download yourself.

My question is: I download Lion or I m going to get Maverick, Yosemite or El Capitan?

    Thank you!! C.

If you use the recovery partition, then reinstall the latest version of the OS.

If you use a disk or USB key, you will get the version of the OS on it.

If you use the recovery of the Internet system, it will reload the computer's original OS (or Lion if the firmware of the computer has been upgraded to access.)

  • Bootable USB Stick - El Capitan/Mountain Lion

Using a MacBook running El Capitan, can I create a bootable USB key to run Cougar?

Unless you've downloaded the OS X App Store before the publication of the Mavericks Mountain Lion, your only option is a purchase ($20USD) Cougar via the Apple store online. Once you have downloaded the OS X App Store ML using this purchase key, you can then run DiskmakerX top to make a USB bootable (8 GB min).

The current (5.0.3) of DiskMaker X version only works with the Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan. Mountain Lion, to the 3.0.4 version on the developers site. It provides a direct download link to it. I don't know if this old X DiskMaker work on El Capitan.

  • NAT with Snow Leopard issue

For the poster who will say "Google is your friend", no it is not, or I wouldn't be here.

I tried for a while now to solve the only problem I have with Snow Leopard Server.

MySql has fallen lion and, apparently, no one knows how to use postgrl so I installed MySql and plundered with her for a few hours to get this working.  There were various other issues with Lion.  Finally, I went to Yosemite.  Hey Apple, where is the GUI?  Then at el Capitan and finally tried Sierra (no server app at all yet).

For me, each 'step-up' taking things and running weaker than the last.

Welcome to Snow Leopard.  I'll stick with it for a while to come.

The only problem I have with Snow Leopard, it's that when it restarts, the NAT will not start upward.  Other than that, it does a magnificent job to maintain my home network.  I searched high and low for an answer without success.  A few posters who have addressed this problem specifically here never got a response.

As this seems to be about three years or more, since this question was asked and it seems that some have migrated to the SLS, I was wondering if anyone has found a solution.

As it is now, as soon as there is a need to reboot, I just disable the NAT service, restart and turn it back on.  In the case of a failure of current (longer than the inverter can maintain) or just a random crash, I have to kill the firewall and NAT then the configuration of the gateway of new service that requires fixing the various omissions and errors and I'm good to go again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have posted in the forum of Snow Leopard Client.  I ask that to move this post.  In the meantime, you can see the various forums about this trick:
