Issue of pre SP2 Vista version

I'm having a problem. I can't figure out how to remove the earlier version of SP2.  I look in the view installed updates list and it isn't here. I also have the problem where I am unable to install anything because of the pre installed version, he is suspended up to 3 updates so there is a catch 22. I even tried a restore but it only shows one and it is today. Ken

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

And Microsoft sells more than Vista.

    Try this:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer (In your particular hardware manufacturer case) and get the latest drivers for your particular model computer or laptop.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Pre-installed Vista does not work on my laptop

    Hello

I have a new Toshiba laptop with pre-installed Vista Home Premium. It works just completely.
My daughter bought it for me from PC World in the United Kingdom and I live in Guernsey.
All the options of what I do now, as right now I have a laptop unusable.

I'm partially blind and need a computer to function well.

    Hi Denise

Have you tried to use the Toshiba Recovery CD and reinstall the entire operating system?
    You should do this.

On this way you might know if it s a hardware or software problem

If the laptop will not properly work after reinstalling the operating system from the recovery CD Toshiba then it could probably be a hardware problem.

If hardware laptop s malfunctioning it s necessary to contact the service provider authorized in your country. Technicians could check all components of the laptop and can locate the fault.

    Good luck Denise

  • Toshiba value added Package for Windows Vista Version 1.1.3 on Qosmio F45

I installed the new * Toshiba value added Package for Windows Vista Version 1.1.3 * for my Qosmio F45-AV413 and function keys was arrested for work.

If I don't go back to the previous system, there is no action that I can do to make the works of buttons again.

I tested with Vista Home Premium which is installed with the product, tested with Vista Business from scratch, and none of them work as expected.

Well, if someone could help me with this question I really thank you,

    Marcelo.

Have you already tried to install an earlier version of the software function button on your system? I think the new version is buggy and if not already a newer version is released, you should have the old version until a new one comes out.

Please check if the old version works, it shouldn´t be a big problem for the single download from the Toshiba driver download site.

  • I have an OEM of Windows Vista version on a dying computer. Can I buy the upgrade for Windows 8 and install it on the new PC, I'm building?

I have an OEM of Windows Vista version on a dying computer. Can I buy the upgrade for Windows 8 and install it on the new PC, I'm building? The upgrade, is published at the same time as I'm rebuilding my PC. I'm just looking to replace my OS. I need Vista.

    Hello

OEM license is tied to the first machine that is installed on the OEM license dies when this machine dies.

An OEM license is not transferable.

And you need a legal edition of Windows, enabled for upgrade.

There is no use, you buy a license upgrade of Windows 8 by itself as you have to upgrade anything of in the new computer, you build...

You can buy a license of Windows 8 when it comes out later this year.

    Dear Sir

My computer install windows vista version English, if possible, change the Chinese version?

    Thanks for your reply.

If you have the English edition of Vista Ultimate, then you can download and install the MUI pack Chinese.  If you have all the other editions of Vista, you need to go to Ultimate first or buy a Chinese version and reinstall.

XP home sp3 can use printer/sp2 vista home premium & files on a network private wireless, but not vice versa. Vista can see xp connected on the entire map, but can not do anything with the icon (it shows the IP etc. When hovered over with the mouse). tried fix & checked all the rest including the settings found on the masses of internet sites. don't think that this problem is so widespread and not final fix?. someone must know the answer. both computers have norton 360 v6. !. two computers use internet very well through the same network switch. two computers worked flawlessly again, no repairs, no reinstall, not zero other problems ever (always ran 360 and first market backup battery).

First of all try to download version stand alone Vista SP1 on your computer and try downloading the SP2 stand-alone version and try to install it. To install SP2, you must have SP1 installed on the computer first. You can access the link below and download the stand-alone SP1 and SP2 version.

  • Can I get an installation Win XP Pro Update CD includes SP3? The one I have now is pre - SP2 and reinstalling the operating system takes 4-EVER!

My existing Windows XP Pro installation CD is almost a decade, and it precedes SP2. It's a nightmare, whenever I have to reinstall the operating system as ut takes a day or two to download Microsoft updates. Is it possible to replace my installation CD with a newer version, including a number of post-SP3 updates and SP3?

You do this using a technique called "slipstreaming".  You start with a genuine XP installation CD and add in the necessary service packs and updates.

If your CD-ROM is sp1 or 1A, you can just slipstream sp3.  If you have XP 'or' (pre - sp1), it is more complicated.

There are many websites that explain how to do this.  Google for "slipstream sp3 of xp" or something similar.

This site claims to have a script that will create a slipstreamed XP sp3 and all post-sp3 CD critical updates (description wrongly "sp2").  I the have not used and do not have any information on how easy it is or if she actually does what it says.
