Issue of Wordicon.exe

I have recently installed a program called SpeechExec Pro transcribe.  It is a program able to read audio files which then transcribe you using a foot petal.  I installed the program to its original CD-ROM.  Whenever I try to open the audio file of this program I EXPECTED to be able to double-click it and should open Word and the audio should start playing.  Instead of opening Word, I get the following error message:

C:\Windows\Installer\{91120000-00CA-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}\wordicon.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

I don't know what that means and I don't know how to get rid of it.  While I can still use the program if I open Word first and then double-click the audio file to play, this msg of error becomes little boring.

Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA!

Hi bernasia,

Possible causes:

1. the file is corrupt, missing, or bad.

2 file is not designed for your version of Windows.

3. the file is a virus, worm or other malicious program file.

4. incompatibility of hardware.

Step 1: Make sure the program installation CD is clean. If the CD is dirty or bad, you might get this error during installation and/or get this error after the program is installed because it has not been copied properly on the computer.

Step 2: Make sure that the program or file you are trying to run does not contain the same name as the long file name directory in which it is contained. For example, running a file named "program" in the directory "program files" can lead to errors.

Step 3: If you try to run a program that is not designed for your version of Windows, you can get this error. Although many old programs designed to work in older versions of Windows will work with new versions of Windows, unfortunately, not all programs will not work.

·         If the program is an MS-DOS program more former start program or Windows, you can get this error.

·         If the program is designed for a 64-bit version of Windows and you are running in a 32-bit version of Windows, it will not work and generate this error.

Step 4: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct

  • duplicates wuauclt.exe & c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll (need both?)

    Hello
I am running xp pro sp3 with MSE (v. 1.77.1038.0). I had CATrust AV until a few weeks ago. I'm on a domain network. We have not required WU to run all the time.

I have issues with wuauclt.exe slow down my computer. All of a sudden, I hear the beginning of the computer running through the process and everything slows down. (5 minutes to open an email of 5 KB)

I * think * my problem is that there are 2 versions of wuauclt.exe & c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll on my computer. They appear as wuauclt.exe and wuauclt1.exe.  wuauclt1.exe and c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll files are version 5.8.0.2469.

Running the MSE analysis does not turn to the top of any spyware. I tried just to remove the old version, but they appear immediately as if the registry grows this version instead.

After reviewing the record, I see that everything related to Microsoft.Update.AutoUpdate has two entrances:
    That is to say
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.update.AutoUpdate
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.update.AutoUpdate.1

Could this be the thing slow down my machine? If this is not the case, what would it be? If so how can I get rid of the duplicates offending (and shocking!)?
    Thank you
    Ian

I can assure you that Windows uses only the wuauclt.exe file now and it is quite normal to find a copy of wuauclt1.exe in %windows%\System32 <=this> .

It is quite normal to find wuauclt.exe in the Task Manager. Processes tab shortly after starting your computer and so he can be executed for 10 to 20 minutes later (especially if Microsoft Update [1] is your source of default update).

That being said, the current automatic updates of running in the background has not such a detrimental effect on performance (e.g., 5 minutes to open an email 5 KB) when it is executed, unless the computer is low on resources (low power).

See if the boot minimum technical troubleshooting help you nail that other background process could contribute to the slowdown.

  • Windows 8 explorer.exe crash - ntdll

    Hello

I'm having issues where explorer.exe crashes.  This occurs while I'm doing something that uses explorer.exe, such as moving files or folders to open.  However, if a file is opened and slowed, explorer.exe will tend to hang.  I don't know if that's when my computer is idle, however.  I have 2 files in my explorer.exe process in my Public SkyDrive folder dump.  I would fix my own problem, but I don't really know how to debug a DMP file and get something meaningful out of it.

  • Open left Svchost.exe

    Hello

I have observed that in all the ThinApp packages access to the internet, two svchost.exe process are created and when you exit the application, one of them is terminated, but it is always open, so the package is never closed, and the OnLastProcessExit function is never called.

First I thought it was a problem of enforcement packed but I confirmed that it occurs in all the (internet browsers, programs ftp, download managers, etc.)

Is there a problem with ThinApp?

I'm using version 4.6.2 and windows xp with sp3

    Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the compliment, but I want to let cool your enthusiasm a little.  Page 83 of the ThinApp 4.6.1 PDF:

    ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions

The ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions parameter was noted exceptions to the ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault parameter when you want to specify the child processes.  When you set the virtual ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault, the ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions parameter lists the applications that run outside the virtual environment. When you set the ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault parameter to the external, the
ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions parameter lists the applications that are running in the virtual environment.

    Examples

You can specify exceptions to the execution of children in the virtual environment. When the virtual application starts a process of notepad.exe child, the child process that is running outside of the virtual environment.

    [BuildOptions] ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions = AcroRd.exe; notepad.exe
    ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault = virtual

Why should be cause for concern?  I can't say for sure, but I see the risk of exposure to security risks when processes are processed by default ways.  In the example above, Acrobat Reader and Notepad will launch and run outside the virtual environment.  The same applies if you use these switches to take into account the issue of svchost.exe.  This approach has worked for me with some applications?  Yes.  I'm still a little worried that the process as be launched outside the bubble?  Yes.  I don't know if security is reduced through this setting, nor I have any evidence concrete sound, but I thought this warranted further explanation.

  • Validation with 5610 re-setup error

Hello.  Take a deep breath and I'm leaving...

I have a 5610 which worked perfectly with my computer and Windows XP until the computer crashed.  I had to replace almost all of the Interior and therefore had to go back to square one.  The man who fixed the computer reinstalled Windows XP but must have SP3 in the machine.  My old version must have been SP2.  I think so!

Obviously, I had to reinstall a lot of software to get back up and working again.  No matter how hard I try now I can't get the software of HP Image Zone of re - install.  He tells me when I try there is a validation issue with hpz01.exe and c:\windows\hpoins07.dat Setup.  There is a six-digit number that follows it.   The system has tried several things including a self fix but it keeps telling me it does not work.

The other interesting thing to note, it is that when I did my twice weekly scan with McAfee stalls hpz files in the drive and won't spend hours.  I have reflected on the disc and you can see no visible fault with it.  It has not been damaged in any way.

I wonder if anyone would know what the message means and if it is a corrupted how disk download software from the HP support site.

I'll be very grateful if someone can answer that I am waiting and waitng and waiting to get this bit to scan the computer fixed so that I can submit an article for publication.

    TF.

    P. S.

The self-test and all document processing to hang in the print queue, and I can print a self-test using the keys on the printer page somehow.  Also I can copy any image that is located on the glass plate, but when I press the scan button it says that there is fault and go to documentation that gives me no will at all.  I don't know about the fax that it is rarely used and there is no way to test except to say that I don't get an error message when I choose this option.

    Phew.  That's all.  Thank you.

    Hi c0rnel

Doing that, got the T shirt but not printer HP Image Zone!

I even went as far as unplugging USB and disconnect the system from the wall outlet when the computer was turned off.

    Thanks for advise him.

I spent all morning on the phone and then McAfee who say that it is not their problem but Windows XP - I think that it's either a Active X that will not allow McAfee or is that SP3 doesn't online.

Sound like I know what I'm talking about, but not really.

    Thanks Tf.

Is there something wrong in my system? Why csrss continues to run non - exist file?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thank you very much

    LAN.

    Hi, Azam,

    Thank you very much!

I'm sure that's no virus and malware on my computer, I installed McAfee always and I tried Malwarebytes to find my computer, and no problem.

So I think that it is other processes causing csrss.exe to query files not exist.

Another amazing thing is not only my computer, I checked the other computers in my company and my friends, they all have the "NAME not FOUND" issue:

    Csrss.exe 1532 QueryOpen C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\Manifests\x86_Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.0.0_en - US_f6b1e800. Manifest NAME not FOUND

Do you have an idea what of  Windows.Common - signes_6595b64144ccf1df stand?

This "6595b64144ccf1df " presents a lot of computers if you use the process monitor.

    Or is not a problem?

If I'm free, I'll try to make the boot to check again.

    Thanks a lot again!

    LAN.
