Issues install Power2go on upgrade of windows 7

System: Ideacentre A600

I've recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. When I try to install Power2Go, I downloaded since the Lenovo support site, I get the following error: "this software is only for installation on desktop Lenovo." Running the Vista compatibility mode or XP did not help.

Any help to fix this would be appreciated.

Use Winrar to extract the Power2Go file that you downloaded. Go to the folder and find the file custom.ini, right click on the file and go to Edition, remove the following entry:

LenovoReg = 1
LenovoRegLock = 1
ProgramCorp = Lenovo
SCFolderName = Lenovo\Power2Go
MenuRemoveID = 6, 7, 8

Save the file and run the installation

Let me know if that works for you,

Coltt

    Probably, all in all probably is a 16-bit program, and as such does not work on Windows 8.0/8.1 64 bit. In addition, the game seems to have 20 years or more. You can try running in compatibility mode, but I think that the game is dead. Hope this helps and if you need help please post and we will be happy to help you.

    Hi Rob,

    You must install first Windows XP and upgrade to Windows Vista.

    If you have a genuine copy of Windows XP, after you install Windows XP you can contact support for Microsoft's Activation to activate the copy of Windows XP.

  • Install Vista SP1/upgraded to Windows 7

    I tried to update this Dell XPS 410 (2 GB) for Win 7 for three days now without success.

    When I started, I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, who said that I had to install Service Pack 1.  I tried, but couldn't.  Just to be sure I wasn't facing some old screw ups, I did a clean install of Vista Home Premium (which came with the computer) and installed all the Windows Update says updates are available without errors.  I think it was around 104.  Curiously, that does not include SP1.

    Then I downloaded and tried to install SP1.  I get this error when I do: "an internal error occurred during the installation of the service pack. Error code: 0x007000D.  See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=101139. "

    I went to this webpage (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366#readiness) and have gone through the steps.

    1. He recommended to download the stand-alone package for the update and trying to install that.  I did this and got the above error.
    2. It is recommended that download and run the system update readiness tool.  I did that (it took more than two hours!), restarted the computer and tried again to install SP1.  I got the same error.
    3. She recommended to close all applications and try to install SP1 - I had nothing else running while this was accomplished in step 2.
    4. At this point, he said "If your problem is still not resolved, you can try the steps of troubleshooting on your own, or you can contact Microsoft technical support.".  I don't know how to contact Microsoft technical support, so I'm here.

    I am only running Microsoft Security Essentials; I guess that would not get in the way, but I've disabled real-time protection and tried to install - same error.

    I'm about at the end of the things that I know to try.  How can I get Windows 7 installed?  I have three computers (almost) identical and installed Win 7 on the first without any difficulty.  Took about two hours.

    Can anyone help?  I need all three of them on Win 7 as soon as possible.    It's frustrating to have so much wrong.

    The machine looks good all other ways.  He has installed Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and some third-party software, HP printer, and an another USB device.  I did a chkdsk - weather.  I have installed Dell Support Center: it checks the material and the machine passes all the tests.

    Assistance would be appreciated.  A way to circumvent the requirement of SP1 and install Win 7 anyway?

    I [was] trying to install SP1 manually, because it has not offered by Windows Update...

    There are all sorts of reasons that Vista SP1 was not offered through Windows Update so far. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948343.

  • Envy 15-c101dx: 8.1 Windows reset always available after upgrade to Windows 10 and refreshment?

    I tried to troubleshoot and fix a driver of hareware problem that was discovered after doing the upgrade of Windows 10 Windows 8.1. Before updating my system, I was warned by the software that I would not be able to return to Windows 8.1 if I did the update with the upgrade of Windows 10 still installed. My question is if Windows 10 also stop me from going back to Windows 8 if I did a reset of the system?

    I played it safe and restored back to 8.1 for Windows before you reset this time, but this will delay upgrading me to Windows 10 in confidence (1 month to try it is not a lot of time).

    Hi @hyjiad.

    Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

    I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question on your HP ENVY x 2-computer laptop 15-c101dx and concerns with the Windows 10 upgrade. It shows me that your system is compatible with Windows 10 drivers. It tells you which driver he would have a problem with?

    The best I can offer at this point is to create your a HP recovery USB drive.

    Here is a link to Windows 10 FAQ. It gives you that Go Back is a feature that will restore your computer to the old operating system that was installed before you upgraded to Windows 10 for only 28 days. But with your recovery USB disk you can do at any point and time.

    I hope this helps you.

    Thank you.

  • Missing graphics drivers after the upgrade to Windows 8?

    Hey guys,.

    I see several people on the forums of the problems with graphics drivers not installed after the upgrade to Windows 8.

    The first step you want to take, make sure that the laptop is supported by Windows 8.

    You can go HERE and see if your laptop has been tested for Windows 8. If she's GREAT!

    Now, if you're still looking for the graphics drivers according to the processor you have there are several places to look.

    First of all, you want to check the HP website and your product type # in the next selection > and then select the operating system > click Next > and look under the section that says "Driver - Graphic" and start the download.

    If you still don't see the driver referred to in this article, you can see one of these sites according to what processor you have.

  • Desktop a6530f Pavilion, new hard drive and upgrade to Windows 7

    I have a desktop Pavilion a6530f with Vista.  My hard drive has been the production of errors, so I bought a new hard drive.  The original hard drive works pretty well as I should be able to create a recovery with a usb flash drive media.  I want to install the new hard drive (Seagate 1 TB SATA 3), and then install Windows 7 upgrade on the new drive.  Will be the ASUS M2N68 - LA / Narra3-GLBE motherboard supports SATA 3 (SATA 2 pilot courses)?  If Yes, where can I get the drivers?  Is there a Web page on the HP site for upgrade to Windows 7 on a new hard drive?  Or I just follow the guests after boot of the Windows 7 upgrade disc and enter the code of Vista product from the label on the side of the PC?

    Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion a6530f. Based on the specifications, this model shipped from the factory with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit installed. This model supports the use of disks SATA 3, however transfer speeds will be limited to the rates for the motherboard SATA 2. No special drivers are required. Seagate 1 TB SATA 3 drive should work fine on this computer, but you may have problems using your HP recovery discs if the new drive is a Format "Advance" AF drive.

    It is unlikely that you will be able to create a recovery media on a USB FlashDrive with this computer. In my view, that this model only supports the creation of recovery DVDs.

    You have a choice of a couple of paths when it comes to the installation of Windows on your computer with a new hard drive installed.

    (1) use your HP Vista recovery disks to install Vista... This may or may not work depending on the new hard drive installed. Then, upgrade to Windows 7 using the upgrade disc and the Windows 7 product key printed on the certificate of authenticity provided with the Windows 7 upgrade disk. (Note: the key of Vista with Windows 7 will not work)

    (2) If you don't mind losing the "value-added" software HP originally installed on the computer, you can install Windows 7 without using Vista installed first. Install Windows 7 using the upgrade disc and the Windows 7 product key printed on the certificate of authenticity provided with the Windows 7 upgrade disk. (Do not enter the key during the installation of the window) (Note: the key of Vista with Windows 7 will not work)

    In both cases just follow the prompts as needed. I suggest to use Windows 7 SP1, because it seems to be more compatible with the new material, including readers of the AF.

    Please see HP - upgrade to Windows 7 customer care using basic upgrade or install Windows 7. Please see HP Forum - how to install Windows 7 without the disc for useful information and download for Windows 7.

    I have upgraded to Windows 10 64 Pro and all my apps Adobe has stopped working; I get the popular "MSVCP110.dll is missing" issue; I uninstalled everything, including the creative cloud, rebooted the PC and installed it back again! • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p050ca: graphics driver error message started after the upgrade of Windows 10 model installed on #: G6U13UA #ABL

    I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and since then, I received the following message through a game: "display Intel HD Graphics driver Driver for Windows 8 (R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

    I checked my graphics driver and it says that it is up-to-date.  I tried installing the latest drivers for my laptop model (according to the HP drivers page), December 15, 2015, installed without a problem, but no version has not fixed the problem.  An error message appears when I try to install the March and April, 2016 versions of graphics drivers, claiming that they are not compatible with my computer.

    I also tried the Intel and HP driver update utility and told me that my drivers are up to date.  However, when I look at the properties of my Intel(r) HD Graphics Family in Device Manager, I noticed that information on the events tab says: "peripheral PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_0A16 & SUBSYS_227E103C & REV_0B\3 & 11583659 & 1 & 10 still requires the installation."

    I don't know what needs update on my computer or if this driver is incompatible with Windows 10 and there is not yet an upgrade?  Advice or opinions would be appreciated!

    My computer model is the 15-p050ca HP Pavilion Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) model #: G6U13UA #ABL and the graphics driver is version #: 10.18.15.4279

    I went back to 8.1 for Windows and ran the store several times and then reinstalled Windows 10.

    I watched the graphic version installed and version 20.19.15.4331 dated dated 18 November 2015, but he still claimed there was an update of the graphics driver.  I tried the update and it was version 10.18.15.4279 dated August 2015, which was the same version that was installed when I had problems (and the same version on the HP website), then I went back to the 20.19.15.4331 version.

    I tried all the graphics drivers listed for my computer on the HP support page and again, I had the same problems with them as I had before (either claim that my computer has no minimum requirements or my graphics driver crashing).

    With the current version (20.19.15.4331), my graphics driver has stopped at least for now crashing, but I assume that this is not a specific driver HP and is only based Intel?  If so, I recommend HP glance on the issue, I've had if they claim that these drivers are supposed to work for my computer when my computer is, in fact, not accept them.

  • known issues with the utilities for the Windows 7 upgrade Lenovo

    I have a Lenovo T61 Thinkpad with Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 32-bit operating system. I have currently only about 1 GB of space on my hard drive Go 67.9. I wanted to get rid of Vista and switch on to 7 but currently I don't have enough hard disk space to do (I need at least 16 GB of free space).  I decided to buy a second hard drive and do a clean install of 7 so I hope I have less problems in the long term.

    My concern is that I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor report, and he knew questions about utilities of Lenovo, ThinkPad EasyEject Utility and system update. On the Lenovo support Web site, it says that "you can upgrade to Windows 7 without uninstalling these applications, but you may experience problems when their running on Windows 7." When I looked for another application that supports Windows 7, as advised, I found that there are none for 3 known issues of as the cause of the problem is a «limitation of Windows 7» So what the devil? I hate Vista but I do not want to install 7 and then not be able to use my computer properly.

    I'm sure many users Lenovo went from Vista to 7... can anyone give advice on what to if wait if I simply ignore these known issues?

  • Proxy issues upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8

    Nice day
    As a consultant, I connect via a proxy to the domain of the clients.  I installed a certificate that I received from the client to use the proxy server in the Internet Options settings, LAN settings.  I've never had connectivity problems until I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.
    I still can't connect to the internet but I'll have to wait a few minutes for a simple BING search engine load.  Simple navigation is a problem.
    I connect using WIFI and I have full signal strength.
    When I'm back in my office, I can connect using field of the company via a WIFI/LAN connection and I have no problem.
    Any idea what would cause this proxy issue?
    Thank you
