  The extension Freeven pro is probably the problem. Only that disable and check again.

  If you have the same problem after having disabled the extension pro Freeven then, disable graphics hardware acceleration.

  You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

  Then perform the following steps:

  • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.

  You have already disabled the functionality of the protected mode? This feature has the security benefits, but it seems to have serious compatibility problems on some systems. There is a hidden parameter to disable; I suggest to try it for a day to see if that helps you:

  It is most certainly NOT legitimate.  There are a great many scams running right now, in many countries around the world, with similar claims. None of them believe.  Microsoft never call unless you called first and made arrangements for a recall to work.

  When the machine running Windows Update on a Windows XP Professional (SP3 with IE8), the information for the download of the ActiveX bar does not appear. Tried to run the Fix for "Common problems with Windows Update" and it says "Windows Update components must be repaired.   Long history, technical, short version: do not uninstall IE8 (and/or IE7) before doing a repair installation (Windows XP only!) leaves the two Internet Explorer and Windows in a State of "confused" or "broken". Your only recourse now is a clean install of Windows (after backup your personal data).

  No, another repair facility won't solve the problem - even if you uninstall IE8 beforehand.

  How much RAM you have on your system? (Right click on "My Computer"-> properties)

  As a general rule, Windows XP does not work well if you have less than 1 GB or more of RAM.  What usually happens is that your RAM capacity is exceeded leading to overflow on virtual memory (the drive) to compensate for the need of RAM in the computer.  This causes your system to beat on your hard drive and slow down your system.

  If this is your problem, the options are to increase the RAM on your system or decrease the non-essential programs that launch at startup on your computer using a tool like Autoruns.
