    Debby,

I answered this question on your other post, but if you want the answer here, no you won't. You need to stay connected and all your songs will be there, unless something goes wrong, which is rare. If that were to happen, you can always get it back by signing into iTunes and then going to section purchased from the iTunes store and re - download everything.

    Music downloads

Im not very computer so be patient.  Ive downloaded music to MP3 how can I add it to my music library

If you use Windows Media Player as your music program, then simply copy the files in one of the folders that you configured WMP to monitor will be all you need to do.  Alternatively, you can leave the files where they are and tell Windows Media Player to include this folder in the library.

  • Updated to iTunes 12; now, the music library is dispersed into several pieces

    Hello

I've recently updated iTunes to version 12, skipping several versions of the application when I replaced my iMac 2008 3 GHz with a MacBook Pro 11.1 2013.  I see that others in this forum have similar problems, but I am not convinced, that this is the same problem, so I write, and I would greatly appreciate your advice.

On my MacBook today, my iTunes files are broken up as follows:

    (1) on the first level of my internal SSD drive, there is a folder "iTunes" (378 GB).  Inside this file, I see the following:

a folder "cover art" (945 MB) with several subfolders.

    (b) "iTunes Music" folder (375 GB) that contains records related to specific artists and also a record for television broadcasts;

    (c) there are also some file "iTunes Library" which are several years old and litter may be older versions of iTunes (which I have used since 2002).

    (2) in my file, there is a 'Music' (8 GB) folder, which contains:

    a "iTunes" folder that contains nothing;

    (b) a folder "iTunes 1 ' which contains:

    (1) a folder iTunes Media that contains 'TV shows', 'music' and 'downloads '.

    (2) yet one pouch with several subfolders.

    (3) more trash to iTunes library of old files.

Recommendations on how to get that stuff in a single folder (or any other effective way)?  Thanks in advance!

In iTunes prefs - advanced - make sure that the "Keep...". 'and the' copy... "box checked.

Also check the path on the Advanced tab to see where iTunes makes the files.

If the items are archived as indicated above, the correct path is: user account > music > iTunes > iTunes Music.

Music is woven into the iTunes Music folder into folders by artist.

The iTunes file has other files and folders with different files of old library, Art work etc.

Do not move things from the Finder, or you may break the links that iTunes has created.

iTunes is a database manager. Do all what you going to in iTunes and things work better with less chance of missing things.

As always, you should have a backup of your iTunes in case things go wrong.

  • Sync iPod very old classic in my musical library of MacBook Pro

My husband has an old, classic iPod (remember the year), and I would add my iTunes library (songs) for what is already on the iPod.   When I connected the iPod to my 2011 MacBook Pro, set iTunes to update iPod to the latest version of the software, but then do not synchronize.  When I plug my iPod to more recent (2011) model, it automatically up-to-date with my iTunes library.  Why don't the old iPod to date as well?

    Thank you

    Katrina

If the iPod is currently to synchronize with your husband iTunes library, it doesn't syncs automatically with your (different) iTunes library, unless you change the association so that it syncs with your iTunes library.  The iPod can only using automatic synchronization ( synchronization music setting) with one iTunes library at a time.  If you change the binding so that the iPod will sync with your iTunes library, content current iPod is deleted and replaced with the content in your iTunes library.

To do this, select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show the settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.

NOTE: All of the songs from the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.  If there is a problem, thanks for posting

Check the box to Sync music.  This enables automatic sync and combines the iPod to your iTunes library.  If your library iTunes music can fit on the iPod, you can choose the option synchronize entire music library.  Then click apply.  iTunes syncs your music to the iPod, by replacing its existing content.  Further, iTunes automatically keeps your iPod 'in phase' with your iTunes music library when you connect (or click sync , if already connected).

  • iTunes will not transfer music to iPhone

I transferred a few CD on my mac in itunes. They play very well.

I'm trying to move these songs on my iPhone, but they appear right on my phone as being in the cloud.

iTunes will not transfer them directly from the computer to the phone.

It is not giving me the option manually the music either, only videos and custom manager allow drag and drop on the phone.

    Can anyone help?

Looks like you have iTunes game or iCloud music library enabled, do you think?  If so you are unable to manage the synchronization of the iPhone directly from iTunes.

  • Is it possible to re - download previously purchased music from iTunes?

I recently had to replace my hard drive due to damage on the physical hard disk while traveling, and I lost all of my music stored there. When I opened iTunes after I had updated my computer, I could see all my music, but couldn't play (mostly) because he was not present on my PC.

I checked my previous iTunes libraries and the folder is empty, I think has caused my damage on the hard disk.

Is there a way to re - download music, I already bought on iTunes which is no longer present on my PC? I don't want to have to buy it again, as I've already paid for it once!

I have an Asus PC I've had for a few years, and I have a (recently replaced) Android phone so I don't have my music stored on an iPhone or similar. I have 10 Windows and the latest version of iTunes

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

  • iCloud, game and music confusion Apple iTunes music library

OK, first of all, I was a Match iTunes and subscribe Apple music, but before not to renew iTunes game, I asked and he said that if I keep my subscription to Apple's music, I would not lose my iCloud library.

But its been a month now since the end of my subscription to Match iTunes, I keep my subscription to Apple's music and today, I have found that the majority of the track in my library of music iCloud is grayed out. So I'm screwed? I think that the information and the difference between the two services is not well explained, and now I think I'm losing all my songs matching (and many of them is not the access point) if I knew that I would lose all my music matching, I would never opt-out Match, but I read several article about it and they all said that I keep my current AP I will not use my corresponding music and everything what I lose is free of DRM.

So, is anybody here had this problem before and there at - it a way to get my songs back?

    Hello

Have you downloaded your music before you unsubscribe iTunes game? If the music is not on your hard drive, you will see your music in gray. You have a back up?

  • Question about the music library to iCloud (music Apple) and iTunes on mac

Download I m just of my iTunes in the music library of iCloud library. Since I was afraid that my library of 40000 + titles could get corrupted or metadata could be changed by apple, I downloaded the files from a 'second' machine (macbook) - just to be on the safe side and keep my iTunes library local main on my iMac intact by iCloud (for the moment).

Now everything seems fine with iCloud music library, but after all the titles/songs are in iCloud now, what happens if I disable the library iCloud music on the 'second' machine and Activate the library iCloud music on my main machine (iMac), which has the same local as my second machine iTunes library? (= the same local iTunes library, which has been already downloaded?)

ICloud/iTunes will recognize that all songs/files are already uploaded to the music library iCloud and doe 'nothing', or download will process all over again and will lead to 'double' all the files/songs in iCloud?

The same question arises if we restore iTunes library local on a mac from a backup + switches on iCloud music library a second time... will be iTunes + icloud music library download all the files again or not?

Unless something is wrong, it should recognize and not duplicate.

  • iTunes download music match or no match

I am subscribed to iTunes game. My mac OS and iTunes are up-to-date. I have approximately 16000 songs in my library, but most (60%) of my music has not been equalled or downloaded.

After reading several threads on this topic, I have disabled iCloud music from iTunes library, disconnected iTunes on all my devices, restarted iTunes on my mac and signed, a kind of genius was activated and updated and turned the icloud library back. After this procedure, the window of iTunes activity says he's waiting for iTunes deliver music library to iCloud and that during 2 seconds, says download songs. For 30 seconds, the status column to iCloud watch songs listed as waiting then iCloud icon disappears and column State iCloud is empty except for the songs already downloaded or traded as a correspondent, transferred, incompatible etc...

I also tried iTunes > file > library > library of music to icloud update with the same results.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hello

If you have no symbol icloud and status = wait usually indicates that a problem has occurred in the matching process.

Usually, I noticed that when I try to add tracks that are already in the cloud, sometimes they change to duplicate. In other cases, I had to remove the tracks to my library and then readd them.

That's why I suggest you check for duplicates. If they are not duplicates, remove the tracks and readd in small batches.

  • iCloud library insists on downloading ALL my music

Here's a howdy do: I never put songs or albums to download on my iPad. However, since up to iOS 9, everytime I open the music application, it tries to download MY ENTIRE on my device LIBRARY. All the songs I have in my library iCloud.

The only thing I can do is to remove the entire contents of the app via the settings > storage. Works until I opened the music again, and it starts all redownload.

Incredible. Anyone else run into this?

Now that I've investigated further, it seems that music on my iPhone and iPad has selected a seemingly random selection of my titles to download on my device. None that I had marked for download, and interesting, which are be the tracks from my library Mac unpaired which clearly have been uploaded to iCloud Music Library (last summer).

How this software remains that broke six months after launch?
