ITunes stopped recognizing my devices

Hello.

I have been using itunes for years without any real problems on Windows 7 64 bit.

I had two devices attached to my library, a 4S 16 GB Iphone and an Ipod touch 32 GB.

Recently, I tried to add music to my ipod and iphone, but Itunes does not recognize them.

So far, I tried the steps listed on the support page (If iTunes does not your iPad, iPhone or iPod - Apple supported), but none of them seem to solve my problem. I'm going to list a few details and the measures that I have tried as well, but to start things up, I can certainly say that this is not a problem with my devices (see list below):

-My computer recognizes both devices, when I plug in usb, so I can check that my photos of roll of camera very well by using windows Explorer. ITunes is not, though.

-All services are running (peripheral service mobile apple, Hello, ipod service)., none have been disabled.

-Cables are fine. They charge and pc recognizes (otherwise, I couldn't see my photos)

-J' tried to update the driver in Device Manager, but he did nothing different. All updates. Both devices appear on the "Portable" tab, showing that the Apple Iphone and Apple IPod.

-On a random experience, to ignore if it was a problem with my devices or cables, I tried another computer. Both show on Itunes (and I could synchronize with another library if I wanted to), but has not yet on my main computer. It is therefore not my devices.

-J' tried different usb ports, reset the two devices (even tried the DFU mode). No luck.

-Tried unninstalling Itunes > Apple update > Hello > 32 x > x 64 method. When I installed Itunes once again, he has somehow pulled all of my previous settings and still not recognize my devices.

-I don't know how to check whether or not any third-party program conflicts.

-Windows is up to date.

On a random note, Itunes started crashing a bit. Inside the Itunes program, stuff like Hello says it is disabled, even if it shows on my list of service as turn on. I can't check my store to itunes plus as well. He repeats to me "make sure that your network connection is active and try again.

My last successful synchronization was January 20, 2016. Since some updates of Itunes, it has stopped working.

Can someone help me? I'm starting to run out of options, two days looking for answers.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

Start by missing error MSI.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

    Hallo Malc

It is possible that you have removed the external device without using the option remove the device safely. Restart the machine and try again.

Otherwise, you can remove all ports USB device manager and start option to add material on the list. After detection and installation it should work again.

  • My computer has stopped recognizing my DVD burner.

My computer has stopped recognizing my DVD burner. It will still read and write to a CD. I don't remember adding something new to the computer, but am not sure when it stopped to work with precision. The Device Manager shows his work; I tried updating the driver but it says that it is the most up to date; I uninstalled and reinstalled; I checked regedit and there are no filters; It is recognized in the BIOS. The store said it is not the hardware and you want to reformat the computer. What can I try before taking this step? Thank you.

Thank you for your message.  You said try to update the drivers.  You go to the computer manufacturer's website and download/install the latest driver for your computer?  If this isn't the case, it is the recommended method for updating your drivers.

  • Satellite C650 - USB ports not recognized in Device Manager

When I turned off my cell phone, I lose the use of my two USB ports. The only way I can get back them is to use Device Manager

Go into the Manager of peripheral devices, Bus USB controllers, there are 6 x Intel ICH9 Family USB Universal Host controller 2 x Intel ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controllers and 7 x USB hub root. When I lose the USB ports, USB root hubs seem to disappear, and the only way I can get back them is to uninstall the controllers and then right-click Universal Serial Bus Conrollers for "scan for changes on the hardware. This brings back the root hubs and USB ports work fine... until the computer turns off again.

Someone at - he encountered this problem and managed to resolve it? Its a hassle to have to go through the uninstall it / Reinstall procedure each time. Your advice will be appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or did you install your own version? I don't see any information about the BONES in your ad...
Theoretically, it could be a software problem so ports USB work correctly if they recognized in Device Manager

You should also try to update the Web from Toshiba site chipset driver. Maybe it helps.
Otherwise, I could imagine that the update of the BIOS can also operate and this update you can get on the Web from Toshiba site too.

No preference, but there is a solution. See moving backup iOS device. See the rest of the tip of the user to do a split cell library if the library files and the media folder are on different drives.
