Jabber running Windows in BootCamp

Hello!

I can't find any reference to this, so I thought I'd try the useful people in the Forum.  Running the video Windows of Jabber version of telepresence in environment Mac BootCamp a supported configuration?

Our client has successfully Jabber/Movi versions 4.3 - 4.0 without any apparent problems, but now is having some problems with 4.4 Jabber camera.  Namely, no selfview or video to another piece.

iMac running 10.x (customer is uncertain who he is, will have to be 10.6 or 10.7 for Windows7)

3.3 Bootcamp

Windows7 Enterprise x 64

Windows Jabber 4.4 Telepresence video

built-in camera

Thank you!

Hi Bob.

I just tested this configuration, and I can confirm that it works without any problem.

My configuration:

MacBook Air 11 mi

Build in Facetime camera

Windows 7 Professional

Video of Jabber Cisco for Telepresence 4.4.3.14479

Boot Camp 4.0.1

When you perform a new installation, you choose which device use, what microphone to use and bandwidth measures. I recommend you to run this again to make sure that the configuration is correct.

To run this installer again please make sure your customer try to rerun the "quick installation". You will find the quick setup in the menu key and screwdriver after connecting.

Hope this fixes your problem

I would like to run Windows with Bootcamp on my iMac. Retina iMac late 2014 with no internal hard drive, only the SSD and the 10.11.4. After countless tests, I dropped; I ask the community, is - it possible at all?

Yes, but your post is so incomplete, you did not provide details of what errors you got. Chances are you have too small a SSD and simply do not have enough space.

What is the best strategy to migrate data from Windows to one Mac to another? I use Parallels Desktop to run Windows on my current Mac but want to use Bootcamp on my new.

If it is only the data (not apps) I use Dropbox. It turned out to be the best way to move things between the side Mac and the bootcamped Windows of my iMac side. I don't see why it would not work to move data from a virtual machine installation of Win to a BootCamp installation.

  • Running Windows 7 on Bootcamp, cannot activate Windows.

I bought a new iMac and am running Windows 7 via BootCamp. The installation went well, but the product key will not work. I bought at Wal-Mart, and he had the hard plastic on the case, so it was not tampered with. I can't have the option for the upcoming automated phone call. How do I fix this, or is this really important?

Looks like you have purchase an upgraded version of Windows 7, in order to use Windows 7 in Boot Camp, Windows 7 license must be a full version.

You can try to activate by phone:

  • Run Windows on USB

I have therefore a 128 GB USB 3.0. I have a copy of Windows 10 and I was wondering if I could create a USB bootable on it. Would I be able to run Windows 10 on this USB key? I know that you can run Windows 10 out of a disc external hard so is it the same process for a USB?

    Thank you

If your Windows license allows running Windows on a USB key, you can then. Bootcamp will not support these media for the installation of Windows. You must use third-party tools or a Windows PC to install Windows on this media.

  • Why my iMac (27 inch, mid 2011) cannot run Windows 10 in boot camp? And if he can't, he would work in something like parallels?

Why my iMac (27 inch, mid 2011) cannot run Windows 10 in boot camp? And if he can't, he would work in something like parallels?

To be honest, Windows 10 is compatible with your Mac, but Apple does not release from Windows 10 drivers for it. There are various guides on the Internet to install the drivers for Boot Camp Windows 10 even if your Mac is not supported, but follow them at your own risk (don't forget that you won't receive help to make).

However, you are free to run Windows 10 on a virtual machine. To do this, you can use Parallels, VMware or VirtualBox, but remember that a virtual machine will give you less performance than Windows natively on your iMac. Read-> Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?

  • Need advice on running Windows 7 under the El Capitan on an iMac 27 ".

I was running Parallels on my MBP 15 ".  It worked but was a little slow to start and not completely satisfactory. They seem to have problems with each update of the OSX.  Now, they need a comprehensive upgrade to El Capitan.  Last year, I bought an iMac 27 "5K and want to run Windows on the iMac.

I have a program that I need to install that works under Windows (company TurboTax).  I'm about to use BootCamp and run Windows in its own partition.   I read the installation instructions and watched some YouTube tutorials on this topic.  Looks like it won't be too hard to install.  A person highly recommended having a good backup of the hard drive internal that some have found some files corrupted when you do this, requiring a full restore of OS X, applications, and files.  I wonder if a good backup Time Machine is sufficient, or do I have to do a new backup?

Also I have not found it yet in the documentation, but it's probably here.  I need to be able to access the same files in both Windows and OSX.  I guess this isn't a problem.  I need something special to make the files accessible to the two operating systems?  In my view, they are all accessible to any system of control.

Guess I'm looking to make sure that it is a good thing to do.  I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit DVD can I use for the installation.  I'm also going to use a USB key as suggested for the installation.  I was also informed that it is better to download the software to support first and put it on the USB key before starting the installation.

I've been advised to give 10 Windows a little more time before the upgrade to it.  Windows 7 is perfect for limited use, I Windows.Any comments on this?

    Thanks for the tips here.

Windows 7 is probably the most stable version of windows in the history of Windows, I would give him the props on 10.6.8 Yes, is very good, he's sucking fanboys.

Windows 10 is a monkey demon that came out of the bowels of * to disrupt his legacy.

that says that Windows 7 is no longer supported by MS is no longer under BootCamp (supported by 10.11) and you will need a previous instance of grandfathered in when OS X has allowed its installation or you will need to use something other than BootCamp to install Win 7

Can I run windows 7 on my mac with endangering my macbook air.

Yes. You can run Windows using the Boot Camp Assistant or using a virtual machine, Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox. • Problems of DirectX running Win7 via Bootcamp on Macbook Pro

    Hello world.

So I installed Win7 64-bit on my Macbook Pro (Intel Dup 2.66 GHz, 4 GB DDR3, NVidia GT 9400 M) using bootcamp eager to play games. I kind of want to go pick up Starcraft 2, but I don't want to buy a mac version of a game as much as I could get a PC of office within the next year some time.

Anyway, so when I run the games, usually they are simply launching without saying anything or it will give me some message about Direct3D. Then, when I go in the DirectX diagnostic tool, it lists acceleration DirectDraw, Direct3D and TGP of texture as 'not available '. I checked and made sure the hardware acceleration has been at the highest level, who he was.

Then, I went online to see what others were doing, and I found in a few places where people were installing DirectX 9.0 with DirectX 11 coming with Win7. I tried to install it and I get the following error message:

"Internal error System. Please refer to DXerror.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder. »

From there I wanted to just post a few places and see if someone else has fallen on these issues running Win7 on a mac, or something like that. I know that these laptops are supposed to run games on bootcamp pretty well, but I can't seem to overcome this problem. Looking for a next step.

    Thanks for reading.

I would check to make sure you have your video drivers properly installed also.

On the note of StarCraft 2, there is no separate versions.  As more cross-platform games nowadays they are delivered with the binary Windows and Macintosh on the same disk.

  • Jabber for Windows 11.5 and connection of the unit - German special characters in password

We Jabber for Windows 11.5.2 running and using the connection of the Unit 10.5.2. Whenever a user uses a password with the German special characters (a, o, u), Jabber is not able to connect to the connection of the unit. Everything else works fine. We also have this problem in 10.6 versions. In the voicemail tab it is said that the name of user or password is wrong. We can reproduce the problem...

BTW. also it does not work in the current jabber for iOS version!

Anyone know if it's a bug or experiencingthe same problem?

I simply make the point that use German special characters causes a lot of problems, in many places, whole CUCM and IM & P and you avoid them.

  • Running from a Bootcamp Partition vs virtual disk

Is there an advantage to run Windows 7 from a vs Bootcamp partition a virtual disk image?

I started to use a virtual disk image and just created a Bootcamp partition and added to the merger.  Things seem to be quite a bit faster using the Bootcamp partition.

Is this the case in general?  Just curious to know what others have experienced.

    Thank you!!

It is normal that you feel.  Realize that a VM is running "virtual hardware", which is generally not as fast that runs the operating system directly on the physical hardware.  Think of it as speaking through a translator.  There is a 'delay' for the message to be delivered. Take a look at the frequently asked Questions on VMware Fusion, about halfway down, the section on virtual hardware.

For Boot Camp however virtual, take a glance to choose the settings of VM right.  Among the main reasons to use one or the other would be the advantage of the speed of Boot Camp against the convinience of not having to restart the Mac or the ability to run several machines against virtual simultaneously only running an instance of Boot Camp.  (e.g.: simulate an entire network, with the file server, web server, mail server, etc., with just one physical machine.)

  • Windows 7 Bootcamp VM Fusion 3.0 problem of reactivation.

    Hello

I have problems with the activation on my bootcamp vmdrive.

    I have a late 2008 macbook Pro 2.53 Ghz, 4 GB, 9600GT 512 MB. Run mac os x 10.6.2 & Vmware Fusion 3.0.

The bootcamp, I run Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, which activates very well.  It is on a separate partition. Coming up as "/ Volumes/Bootcamp & owners enabled = no.» 54.56 GB formatted NTFS.

I installed the bootcamp VM, then install the vm-ware tools, reboot. Then tried to re-activation, but it doesn't.

I tried to add the line SMBIOS.reflectHost = "TRUE" in the .vmx but that din't solve it either.

    Any suggestions?

None.   When you have installed Windows on your BootCamp partition, activate you before added as a virtual machine in Fusion, then installed VMware Tools inside while running molten.

So, when you went to turn it on again when running it in fusion, Windows Activation looked at your current hardware configuration, generated a new hardware to your system ID and tried to activate it.  But, it was so different from the hardware ID, he had on the recording of your previous activation, he assumes that you were trying to install Windows on a totally different system.  Then, he returned this message saying that you have to call Microsoft to reactivate.

This is normal and expected behavior in Windows.  This is why it is recommended to install VMware Tools inside the BootCamp partition during his execution in Fusion, before activating Windows for the first time.
