I only probably put off the fateful day where you just reinstall. If it was my machine, I have several backup images to fall back on. You can search the register and also nothing to do with Java and remove them.
This is an old article, but it might give you some rough directions if you want to hunt of Java in the registry.

"COM Surrogate has stopped working" - error when browsing photos on the new version of Windows 7
Just built a new pc and installed Windows 7, everything works fine but whenever I browse photos using the photo viewer, it freezes and opens with "COM Surrogate has stopped working" (after 10-20 photos - happens every time).
I read online about possible errors - I do not have Nero or DivX installed so cannot include those. I also can not disable Protection for the execution of the data for dllhost.exe is 64-bit Windows, so it will not allow him.
Any help would be much appreciated: it's very frustrating!
If you have a laptop with optimus or ati changegraphic, you must add the dllhost.exe to the graphics card performance. After that it should be to fix the problem.

Error: Java binary has stopped working
Hi, I'm running Windows 7 32 bit, just installed it on a box of Zotac Z a few weeks with 4 GB of RAM. I installed Java yesterday, but any application that requires java does not work. He will always ask an error: Java binary has stopped working. The types of errors were BEX until I added exceptions settings memory for Java.exe. This is the type of error APPCRASH. The error is always stackhash (hashstack?). I have tried to reinstall java several times and also clean restart. Help, please!
Hi, Will,
Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:
Method 1: You can check that Windows DEP (Data Execution Prevention) is not blocking it. You can see the article that explains how to do. However, do not choose the option mentioned in this article (#4). Instead, make sure you have selected the radio button:
Turn on DEP for all programs and Windows services only
Change Data Execution Prevention settings
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-data-execution-prevention-settings
Method 2: You can place the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.
Start your computer in safe mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Method 3: Run the resolution of the problems of compatibility for Java applications
What is program compatibility?

Make older programs in this version of Windows

Acrobat has stopped working error in Word 2013
We use the word 2013, 32-bit Windows 7 64-bit and Acrobat Pro 11.07. When you create a pdf file in the menu Word lance Acrobat "Acrobat has stopped working" error dialog when he returns to the prompt for the file name. I tried a complete reinstall and trust what I can in the center of Word. The PDF is successfully created even through the error is thrown. I have full administrator rights on the PC and the problem occurs under someone's profile. Has anyone else seen and solved this problem?
Have you tried with 11.0.06? Maybe there is a bug added in 11.0.07. In this case, just go for the 06 version could be a solution. I've heard several people complain about problems with the 07 update (even if I don't remember the question, just complaints). Looks like you've done a lot, and you could try to reinstall and update at 06. Manual updates can be found at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. It would be a useful exercise (especially if it works) to provide Adobe to update 07 saw the bug information and not 06. That's a guess.

iPhoto has stopped working. When I try to download the latest version, I massage "this update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by another user or the item has been refunded or cancelled."... why?
Mac OS X 10.10.3 and newer include Photos, which is designed as a replacement for iPhoto. If you want to go on the use of iPhoto in addition to or instead of switch to Photos, click here and try following the instructions; you will only be able to do if you got before where associated with iPhoto on the Mac App store.

1. what operating system do you use?
2. what programs you have problems with?
3. is there an error message generated?
4. what type of file you go when this happens?
5 How long this issue is past?
6. is there anything changed/added/deleted before this issue popped up?
It's basically the who, what, when, where and why of troubleshooting.
