  • RoboHelp6 and TFS Version control and to exclude files

    Hello RoboSource Control community members. I asked this question on the side of RoboHelp and receive no response so I think it's off-topic there and decided to ask here in the hope of getting help.  My team is using RoboHelp6 and Version control on TFS (Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Explorer and Source Control Explorer). We continue running in problems where the changes, in particular, creation or deletion of a folder cause the damaged project and we have to fall back to an earlier correct version. We can also not make the main layout to generate under version control as it blocks of RoboHelp. I have been checking these forums and so far, that I discovered that since I loaded several files that should have been excluded, they can be part of my problem. The files I loaded and should exclude are (projectname.cpd, projectname.pss, projectname.hhp). So my question is this: if I reload the TFS with project and exclude these files (projectname.cpd, projectname.pss, projectname.hhp) that we will be able to generate the available main under version control or not allowed under version control. Another question to ask; before you reload the project is what other files should be excluded when loading? The list have so far is: projectname.cpd projectname.pss projectname.hhp projectname.trl ehlpdhtm.js

    Thank you, Bob (no relation to John)

    Hi Bob.

    Your list of exclusions is what RSC does with our projects RH6, except that ours isn't .trl files. Don't know what it is.

  • How to disable the fast extraction in RH7 VSS version control.

    RH7 HTML using and VSS version control. Use no problem for 2 years. Now, I had get a new computer

    implemented, VSS appears to be correctly implemented with RoboHelp and demand for "get latest" when I opened a project in the usual way.

    However, whenever I try to change a HR topic now, I asked to see. This happens automatically. the HR Tip which displays says:

    "To disable guests during execution of the tasks of version manually control, clear the option on version control, that tab files are then removed automatically.

    Note: not selected in the list of files cannot be extracted. »

    It is not clear - there is no tab of version control, and which option they say clear? There is a toolbar of version control and file > menu control Version, or which has an option "order quickly.

    I need no no check manually every time!

    Use tools > Options menu. There should be a 'Version Control' tab in this dialog box.

  • Version control issues

    Hello world

    Can someone please tell me how to create a copy of a project that can be opened, edition, etc without affecting the project we have in Visual SourceSafe? We strive to create documents printed from our CHM files, and instead of playing with our project work, we want to test a copy first. I copied the project in Explorer, it opened and got an of SourceSafe Options dialog box. We went to file-> delete the Version control and that the project work, away from SourceSafe.
    All I want is a copy of the draft to play with until we get it to look like we want to, and then make the changes in the working draft.

    This is a repetition of the procedure.

    To clone a project under RoboSource Control:

    1. a copy of the project.
    2 remove the following files from the root of the new project:
    -pblsvrs.sss (if applicable)
    -mssccprj.scc (if present)
    -projectname.cpd
    -projectname.pss
    3. in Notepad, open projectname.xpj.
    4 remove all entries between and , but let the two tags.
    5. close Notepad, and then save the xpj file.
    You now have a project that is removed from the source control.
    6 open the project in HR and rename the project.

    You now have a new independent project.

  • Unit testing and Version control tool

    Hi all

    We try to evaluate a PL/SQL developer tool that will have the following options.

    1. version Control (Control Version TFS or Subversion server)
    2. unit tests

    I see two options

    1 Developer SQL
    2 TOAD + Quest Code tester for Oracle

    Some you will suggest which option to go for and why?

    Also can we use JDeveloper or any other for this purpose?

    Please notify.

    Kind regards
    Hari

    It is somewhat a generic question.

    different tools have benefits different and different tools suit different companies and how projects that are managed or how the development is made etc..

    Some people may prefer to use these tools just for the development of the code, but for example use the CCS for source code management and version control, then develop their own unit test scripts, or have dedicated 3rd party tools in order to test the individual unit, business, test system etc. of test cases.

    Without knowing your company's configuration and requirements in detail, it would be difficult to say that one thing is better than the other in most cases.

  • Interoperability VCS control and Expressay - various versions

    Hi team,

    We settled on a client control VCS about 6 months. The customer has decided to buy, after this period, VCS highway as well.

    The version of VCS is x7.2 control and we are already in the version x8.2.1.

    My question is:

    There is some incompatibility between the VCS control version x 7 and VCS Expressway in x 8 version?

    Best regards

    VCS X7.2.x and X8.x backward compatibility were considered in depth since the published software X 8.  The following discussion is the latest X8.2 version that resolves the compatibility between versions X 7 and X 8 of the VCs.

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/discussion/12240026/VCs-x82

    If you care to learn more about the compatibility of the software versions X 7 and X 8, you can take a look at this discussion, there are others out there as well, just look for them.

  • Integration with SharePoint and version control

    We have SharePoint 2013 and that you upgrade to Acrobat Pro DC. I see all kinds of commercials on a better integration of SharePoint, but does that mean, exactly? I also see text of presentation on Version control. Can we now use version control in document libraries in SharePoint to a PDF file?

    How Acrobat DC works differently in SharePoint that Acrobat X?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello

    Version control is characteristic of the SharePoint document library, if it is enabled in so you can have the version control for any type of word or pdf file. MS office documents can be easily editable in the browser and can create a new version while you can't edit PDFs, but in 2013 of SharePoint, you can view a PDF file in browsers.

    Whenever you download a pdf with the same file, document library will create a new version for it.

    Let me know whether or not your question is disabled.

    Thank you

    Adnan

  • RoboHelp6 and TFS Version control - how to load and records local syncronize team members

    My team is using RoboHelp6 and Version control on TFS (Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Explorer and Source Control Explorer).  We are looking for the right way to load a new project and the right way to get the team in harmony with the project. The process we have used to date is as follows:

    The head of the team takes the existing project and load into a local folder that is the local folder to be used by the control of Source of TFS. The head of the team opens the project through RoboHelp and then made a backup of all and generates a main page layout. The Leqader team uses then add it to Source code control option to add the project of TFS Source control. The members of the team and then create a local folder for use with the control of Source of TFS and team leader sends a complete project of its local folder and which is copied to the local folder. Member of the team then open RoboHelp and using Version control options to bind TFS (Team Foundation Server) and the Source code control folder where the project is located. The team members should now be able to edit the project.

    If I missed a step or a step added by mistake, please advise.

    Bob (no relation to John)

    Hi Bob.

    With RSC, there are a couple of tweaks to the procedure, as follows. TFS may work the same way.

    Before the authors try to open the project, they should make their initial connection to the db by RSC. All they need do is open the RSC Explorer, connect to the project and then close RSC. After that, they should be able to simply open the project in HR and have it connect on its own. (When they start with a copy of the project files, it does this a little simpler words. The project will immediately try to make the connection to source control).

  • RoboHelp6 and TFS Version control - how to add, delete, or rename folders

    When under Version control which is the appropriate method to rename a file or folder? What is the correct method of deleting or adding a folder under Version control?

    Bob (no relation to John)

    With RSC, I recommend these procedures of HR. I don't know if you get this same tight coupling with TFS, however.

  • In the Apex version control

    We are fairly new to apex, and we plan to create a broad application using the latest version of the Apex.  We plan to use Subversion (SVN) version control tool.

    We have 3 scenes like

    -Development

    -Staging

    -Production

    Our plan is to use the same id of the workspace, the application id and the ID of page in all environments, so that we can apply individual for the pages of the application changes after the initial version is deployed in all 3 environments.

    The workflow will be development in the development-> Testing environment in staging-> deploy to Production

    What is a good way to make the Apex version control?   Is there any other better practical approach that we can use?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Dragonia,

    Start with, you're in the right direction! The first (step 1) for control of current version of APEX is to have cloned DB systems for DEV/TEST/PROD. This ensures internal APEX IDs are the same in all settings and it will help us to detect only valid changes.

    Step 2: export the individual components of the APEX in sql files. Add them to version control.

    To export individual components of APEX in the form of sql files, you can use the Java utilities provided by APEX. These classes are under the folder path below APEX zip

    \apex\utilities\oracle\apex

    APEXExport.class - use this utility to export specified from the specified workspace APEX and DB application

    APEXExportSplitter.class - use this utility for dividing bulk single apex sql file into individual sql files (generates an sql for APEX component)

    Step 3: when changes are made, rerun the utility of separator and validate the svn changes (you can only commit files sql for components respective apex which you have changed)

    Step 4: build patches script to migrate following environment changes (the hard part!)

    There is no easy way to do this by their SUMMIT. You must take all the files of sql that you changed, and you must prepare an installation script to run all of these sql files. When you run apex splitter, it gives you all the parts of apex with a well organized with install.sql file folder structure. You can see this install.sql file to prepare your own patches script.

    Another difficult point is - some components of the APEX should be deleted before re-creating them. For example if you changed the page 10 and you want to export the following environment changes, then install.sql sample will be as below

    -- install.sql
    @application/init.sql
    @application/set_environment.sql
    @application/delete_pages.sql
    @application/pages/page_00010.sql
    @application/end_environment.sql

    And the contents of delete_pages.sql will be as follows

    -- delete_pages.sql
    SET DEFINE OFF

    BEGIN
        wwv_flow_api.g_mode := 'REPLACE';
    END;
    /

    BEGIN
        wwv_flow_api.remove_page (p_flow_id=>101, p_page_id=>10);
    END;
    /

    And this isn't the end of the story. Some of the changes to shared component can be directly applied to the next environment using sql scripts generated by splitter apex (such as models, methods of application), but some of the shared components cannot be. We must first remove and then we have to recreate it using files sql generated via a dispatcher of the apex. And we need to go through the undocumented internal APEX wwv_flow_api care to know what procedure we use to remove that shared component package.

    Also when delete us a page, then all registered users reports public and private will be lost. So before you move your changes to Production, you should export user reports public/private and you should re - install Production DB after the installation of pages.

    To summarize, apex version control applications is not hard, but preparation 'delta script or patch' is very difficult.

    Hi joelkallman-Oracle, I do remember that you promised to publish a white paper ticket or a blog on this topic. It is already published. If so, can you please share the details. Thanks a lot for your wonderful support in advance.

  • Oracle forms version control system

    Hello

    Which tool is best Version and difference, audit reports and Oracle Forms.

    My environment is

    OS = Redhat 5.9

    Database = 10.2.0.1

    Developer = 6i patch 17

    Thanks in advance

    I'm used to subversion, but this does not mean that it is the right tool for you. GIT is a distributed version control system that provides the ability to create local chapters that sometimes miss me in subversion, for example when I do a greater research who needs significant changes to code.

    At the end of the day, you read about the characteristics of some version control systems, to play and see if it fits your needs. At least that's what I did 7 years ago when we checked the subversion.

    For example, take a look here:

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_revision_control_software

    Don't be overwhelmed by the amount of VCS out there. That's just my opinion, but the free Source Open (like subversion or GIT) VCS are at least as powerful as their commercial counterparts (of not more powerful), so I will abstain to scrutinize sales.

    What is diff/merge is in a team of 4 developers I guess having to resolve conflicts is rather rare?

    There are a few possibilities but to compare changes:

    -convert your forms to XML format and compare with a plain vanilla diff viewer: conversion of an Oracle Forms Application

    -convert the pll files in text format gross LDP with rwconverter and compare with a spectator ordinary vanilla diff

    -use a commercial tool like FormsTool - ORCL Toolbox

    I don't know, maybe there are other tools of differentiation/fusion available as well, but that's what we use (Forms tool in collaboration with rwconverter to merge pll files, as this does not well in the forms tool but not the fault of the tool itself, but on the API, it based on...)

    see you soon

  • Need help to set up version control

    I would like to set up version control for DreamWeaver CS 6.

    I go to manage the web site and enter the version control.

    Can you please advise what informaiton I enter server address and repository path configuration?

    I received a message that Dreamweaver disbable check-in and check-out when enable version control.

    Can you please let me know that DreamWeaver does support both 2 functions at the same time?

    Is Dreamweaver version control account that I need to buy and install the version that server controls to make version control works?

    Your information and your help is much appreciated,

    Kind regards

    Iccsi,

    You must have access to a SVN server and a SVN repository before you start this set up. For more information about SVN, see the

    Subversion at http://subversion.apache.org/Web site.

    Yes, DW includes only support for SVN. You must install a SVN server and repository manually from the link above before you can set it up in DW.

  • Can what settings I change so that Dreamweaver does not force me to use version control?

    I don't know what setting I changed - I worked in my site and FTP'd to my server for a week. Something has changed today.

    There is a red X next to Version control in the configuration of the Site for the Site X dialog box.

    According to the files, in the remote pane, there is a link to define version control settings.

    I do not have subversion, nor do I need. I just want to see my files on the remote server. Get/Push work. However, there is no tree of the server. Advice?

    Hi AcronymCity, same happened to me, around the time you posted in Dec (DW vs 5.5)

    I got my files back server by

    1. in the preferences (cmd - U) - > site-> to load the files-> by unchecking "guest to get / check out»

    2. in the preferences (cmd - U) - > site-> to load the files-> by unchecking "prompt on put / check-in.

    3 more low same dialog - > check save files before putting

    4 and then the "files" window ->, I then manipulated the "repositories" button, which has been before, resisiting in normal to normal (toolbar on the "files" window)

    He got rid of 'files in the repository' demand and booked the sites with the server in the usual way, through the Manage sites/Edit dialog. All the ftp server previous data re-entered.

    Now, if that's what makes it or if it was something else, I don't know, (I used CyberDuck blessed in the meantime). Hope this works for you if you haven't solved otherwise... nosada1592
