JDeveloper/ADF 12 c - Djbo.debugoutput = console

Hello

Someone had a bit of luck which allows the ADF BC logging in JDeveloper 12 c?

Previously on 11g, I would just like to add - Djbo.debugoutput = console "Java Options" of the run configuration section. But when you do it in the same application after migrating to 12 c, it does not have any effect.

There is a new option that should be used instead?

Thank you!

Messages are only print in TRACE level, you need to check that the console Manager allows at least TRACE messages. 12 c, it is configured to allow only the warning messages.

This line in the logging.xml allows all levels of message for the console as if it were to 11g.

• JDeveloper ADF 12 c with oracle database 10g

Hi all

We have purchase a license for oracle application server 10g and 10g R2 database.

my request is that we could use the Jdeveloper 12 c with ADF against the above specifications?

If Yes, how much would it cost?

our Organization cannot afford the latest versions of oracle. (this is why we are stuck at the 10g database).

I want to develop an application for our organization using jdeveloper ADF.

Kindly guide me.

This is not a sales forum. As I have already said, you should contact an Oracle sales person who can answer your question. There are ways of possible migration which will save you money (for the purchase of new licenses).

I'm not saying you must upgrade to 12 c. You can develop applications using the old technology using jdev 10 g with OAS 10 g and Oracle DB 10 g.

If you want to use a newer technology (jsf2.0...), you need to update because these are not available in 10g. The issue if you need to update to 11g or 12 c (jdev), you must answer yourself and can ask the seller too. 12 c is the latest technology and the question is whether you need later. 11g if jdev version that is used internally by Oracle and is on the marked a period of time.

• JDeveloper + ADF vs Eclipse + ADF?

Hi, Frank,.

Thank you for your kind suggestion.

Our teams of developers use Eclipse IDE, many plug-ins, such as jQuery, Ext etc., but they never used Jdeveloper and they have an attitude of strong rejection for Jdeveloper - it's awkward, weird, anyone not using it - they tell me and show me how slow Jdeveloper is then compared to Eclipse on the race.

What is important for us is the overall productivity. So it sounds Eclipse + ADF is also an option, especially when the programmers are more prefer Eclipse as Jdeveloper.

In my view, business model (features like ADF business components), control model (bindings) and view (drag and drop UI components) model work together without sewing is the main advantage of Jdeveloper + ADF. Even if our guys had already used many plug-ins in Eclipse, they cannot have ' all in one ' with Eclipse.

I wonder, if "caution, components business ADF is not available in EPCO", can full advantage of productivity and end-to-end Jdev + ADF still be exploited?

In short, what is the best choice for us: Jdev + ADF or Eclipse + ADF?

I can encourage (training), seduce or intimidate still our guys use Jdev + ADF if he really can bring significant productivity.

Thank you!

Bao

a related thread:

What degree of productivity adf can achieve compared to Eclipse?

If your developers are already familiar with Eclipse and working with JPA/EJB, then they can indeed find that using EPCO for the development of the ADF is a good solution. That's exactly the audience that EPCO is built for.

They can always use the ADF Faces, controller of the ADF and ADF binding and increase productivity, simplify the construction of the user interface layer and its connection to business services.

This will also keep their current knowledge of coding environment and save some of the learning curve.

How about you to conduct a simple experiment - get one of them to try to establish a simple system with EPCO and get another to try to build with JDev and see what they report as the easier approach.

• What is the official reporting tool Oracle JDeveloper ADF applications.

Hi all
I'm on the migration of Oracle Forms and Oracle JDeveloper ADF reports.
I have read several books on JDeveloper and ADF and I take. Now what I will use to create reports; tool Oracle to create reports, that is tightly integrated with JDveloper and ADF comparable to the relationship between Oracle Forms and Oracle reports.
I will be grateful for your response.
Best regards,
Denis Ojok

There is no tool tightly coupled with jdev. Tool of oracles of choice would be BI Publisher (I guess). However, you can use the reports jasper or any other tool to report as well.

• Problems of Installation of the Runtime/Weblogic JDeveloper/ADF

There seems to be a lot of confusion about installation and deployment on a stand-alone Weblogic Server. I read a number of posts on this topic.

As a question or a proof that my applications work, all I want to do is test that I can in fact install a stand-alone Weblogic Server and deploy an ADF application on it.

However, the steps to achieve this simple give me seizures:

1. I have search the Internet, find these absolutely wonderful and easy to follow (but obsolete?) Instructions on http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/jdeveloper/howto/11114/managedserver/wlsadfms.html

Suggestions: Please update it... and keep updated for each version of Jdeveloper/ADF DURATION/Weblogic coming out.

2. I'm working on Jdeveloper 11.1.2.2.0 (6183). (Honestly understand what version of the Weblogic/Jdeveloper/ADF runtime are painless to install is a complete bear)

a. I have download and install Weblogic 10.3.6.
b. I have download the Runtime of ADF Oracle 11.1.1.6. It says that I have to go to metalink for patches.
c. I go to metalink and look for "Application Oracle ADF 11.1.2.2.0 development Execution."

It provides the document: how to install the ADF 11 g Release 2 to WebLogic Sever 10.3.5 runtime libraries / 10.3.6? [1328698.1 ID]

At the top of the document says "Oracle JDeveloper - Version 11.1.2.0.0 to 11.1.2.1.0 [version Oracle11g]" UH-OH! Where is jdeveloper 11.1.2.2.0;?

So the metalink document I need: patch: 13656274 et patch: 13656372

I read the readme for patch: 13656274 .

The read says me:
Platform patch for: credits
Patched product: Oracle JDeveloper
Product version: 11.1.1.6.0; UH-OH! I'm working on 11.1.2.2.0;?

I read the readme for patch: 13656372

Platform patch for: credits
Patched product: ORACLE WEBCENTER PORTAL
Version of the product: 11.1.1.6.0 ++ 13656274 patch (required) Is this relevant?
Auto activated: no

So I have to download and install opatch on my computer, and then install this, then use the command upgradeADF WLST.

Summary: The process of install Weblogic adf runtimes and then patches is heavy at best, totally confused at worst.

Would it be possible to place all necessary downloads are required for each version of Jdeveloper, installs suggested, as is done on the SOA Suite? Can provide documentation for Dummies in this world?

Thank you very much.

Stuart

Stuart,
you are not alone with this complaint. Install a WLS for 11.1.2.x is painless. Perhaps one of the reasons is that this version does not come with all the features (lack of soa...) is more like an overview of the feature for the next version of 12 c. When I remember there is a change of the best in future documentation in 12 c too good. If all goes well he will meet your suggestions.

• [ADF, JDev12.1.3] The console message strange when an LOV popoup entry opens. What do mean?

Hallo,

whenever, during execution, I click on the magnifying glass to a LOV Input and the popup opens, similar messages are written in JDeveloper console:

< oracle.adf.view > < PanelGridLayoutRenderer > < _encodeAllOrVisitChildrenForEncodingImpl > < PANEL_GRID_LAYOUT_CIRCULAR_HEIGHT_DEFINITION_1 >

< oracle.adf.view > < PanelGridLayoutRenderer > < _encodeAllOrVisitChildrenForEncodingImpl > < PANEL_GRID_LAYOUT_CIRCULAR_HEIGHT_DEFINITION_1 >

< oracle.adf.view > < PanelGridLayoutRenderer > < _encodeAllOrVisitChildrenForEncodingImpl > < PANEL_GRID_LAYOUT_CIRCULAR_HEIGHT_DEFINITION_2 >

< oracle.adf.view > < PanelGridLayoutRenderer > < _encodeAllOrVisitChildrenForEncodingImpl > < PANEL_GRID_LAYOUT_CIRCULAR_HEIGHT_DEFINITION_2 >

Then, there is a special InputLOV for which this message if:

< oracle.adf.model > < FacesCtrlLOVBinding > < _modifySearchVC > < ViewCriteriaItem for LOV attribute not found. >

Sometimes this message is written:

< org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.component.UIXComponentBase > < UIXComponentBase > < getClientId > < INVALID_CALL_TO_GETCLIENTID >

I have to worry about them? If so, how do I deal with these issues?

Thank you

Federico

I have to worry about them?

Probably not (I noticed this scroll bar horizontal in the query part of LOV popup is almost invisible if you have an attribute that is longer than the width of the pop-up window, so this may be related...)

It is an edition in 12.1.3.

Last month, I logged service request that contains also the description of this problem so adf devs will know at least for her (but SR is related to another question)

• JDeveloper/ADF 12.1.3 does support EL 2.2?

I use JDeveloper and ADF 12.1.3.

I want to pass a parameter to the method of a managed bean of a JSF page. I use an action listener and set a property of the bean, but it is an af:goMenuItem and the EL is used to set the property to "destination." You can not put an action listener in a component 'go. '

EL version 2.2 or later for this - that is, you should be able to use #{my_managed_bean.my_bean_property ("my settings")}. But EL 2.2 is here? If so, is there something I need to change in (probably) file web.xml to activate it?

Interesting, I got an error when I try to use the parameter in an el. However, there are samples like https://oralublog.wordpress.com/2014/04/03/jdeveloper-12-c-adf-tips-how-to-pass-parameters-to-method-in-el-expression/

showing that it works.

• JDeveloper/ADF 11.1.2.4 & Weblogic 10.1.3.6: does anyone know patch number for the execution of Application development?

Following statements of:

• JDeveloper ADF Mobile - Android context

Hello

I'm new to the development of the ADF Mobile. I wanted to use an existing library of android. which requires the context as a parameter because this isn't some back-end database activities. How can I get the Android context if I develop hybrid application using ADF Mobile.

It's very urgent for the development of mu. Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards
Kathia

Hi, unfortunately I don't think that it is easy to use an existing library of Android, because the JVM Dalvik on Android device is different from the JAVA virtual machine integrated into ADF Mobile. ADF Mobile integrates its own JVM to ensure cross-platform compatibility.

However, that said, what is the use case exact application you have in mind? In the backend, you mean you are trying to use the Android library communicates with the database server and synchronize data and download data in the local SQLite Database?

Thank you

• Can I dynamically create features on jdeveloper ADF?

Hello, do you know if it is possible to dynamically generate entities?
I found examples of dynamically create views, components, etc., but I did find an example or technique to create features of dynamically in the ADF.

Thanks :)

Hello

You must first define a http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14099_19/web.1012/b14022/oracle/jbo/server/EntityDefImpl.html class. It has a protected method then to create an entity to object

• drop down button list in jdeveloper, adf 12 c

Hi all!

I can some post post a link to the tutorial from scratch, where all tables are falling down the list button and users can choose and they can add the new field in the example of table.for I have a table for PC with id, version, pc, operating system name. Thanks in advance

Manolis

First tell us your version Jdev

Your condition is not not enough clear are you trying to create the row in the DB table based on the drop-down list selection?

If so create viewObject for all tables and show all the table name in the drop-down list
then just to get the value of drop down and create row in this viewObject

Assume that departments is selected in the drop-down list, then you can get and create row in departments ViewObject

{if(dropdownValue=="Departments")}

ViewObject vo = getDepartmentsVo ();

Line r2 = vo.createRow (); Creates a new line in ViewObject

R2.SetAttribute ("DepartmentId", 001); You can set all the values

vo.insertRow (r2);

}

Even, you can do for your tables create a PC, etc.

• Add the hyperlink in a page to direct to a .pdf report in oracle jdeveloper, ADF

Hello

I want to put a hyperlink, which will lead the user to the report. but I have the problem with, "where should I put the pdf file" any help please?

Here is my code:

< a target = "_blank" href =' / faces/DocumentationKNM.pdf '> Guide Book < /a >

What should be the href?

Well, it depends of course when the pdf report can be found on your server, and if it is accessible from the web application. For this, it must be somewhere in the web root of your application. To access the report somewhere else on the server, you can implement a servlet and circulate the report from there.

Summary: we need describe your use cases in more detail.

• ADF BC: Entity literal attribute value Type or an Expression

Hello

Please consider this scenario using JDeveloper 11 g (11.1.1.0.1):

(1) create an application that uses the application model "Fusion Web Application (ADF)"
(2) in the model project, the Wizard "Components Business of Tables" to create Dept and Emp on the SCOTT entity objects. DEP. and SCOTT. Tables EMP and also default DeptView and objects in view of EmpView, a Module of Application ScottService
(3) in the objects of entity Emp Editor, select hiring date attribute, and the property inspector allows you to change the default value to "adf.currentDate" (see also Section 3.6, overview of Groovy support), do change not the Type of default value of Expression (keep the default 'literal' value)
(4) in the ViewController project, create a new JSF page browseDept.jspx
(5) in the data controls panel, drop DeptView1 on browseDept.jspx as "ADF unalterable form" page, check include Navigation controls
(6) also in the data controls panel, delete EmpView2 on the browseDept.jspx as the 'ADF Table read-only' page
(7) with the right button on the browseDept.jspx page and select run

The result after that step (7) is a browser page that continues to display "Loading."... "and the tab of the Panel" running: DefaultServer - Log ' in JDeveloper illustrates this exception:

After you have configured the Hiredate attribute in the entity object Emp with as default value Type Expression, things seem to work without exceptions.

questions
(q1) This is the behavior after the step (7) that saves only a NullPointerException intended behavior?
(q2) Wouldn't be better to have the connected DataCreationException or even appear on the page?
