Original title: homegroup
I try to get online with a home group. My system works with my group?
Hi Babbleson,
1. who is the operating system installed on the computer?
2. what happens when you try to create a home group?
A homegroup is a group of computers on a home network that can share files and printers. With the help of a group residential allows for easier sharing. You can share photos, music, videos, documents, and printers with other people in your homegroup.
PCs must be running Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows RT or to participate in a homegroup. Homegroup is available in all editions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.

I just purcashed a HP all-in-one with Windows 7 Premium. Can I install the network home group without upgrading Windows.
rongould6373 wrote: I just purcashed a HP all-in-one with Windows 7 Premium. Can I install the network home group without upgrading Windows.
Hello rongould6373, you should be able to set up a home network, but you would need to have at least two computers connected to a network or a network router.
I do not use the host network, but a working network. This seems to work better for me.
The network name must be the same on all systems on the network. You must also open the network and sharing to set up the network and share systems to connect to the other (s).

How can I find my username at my home group so that I can access files on my PC from my laptop - Windows PC Windows7 10
1 2 profiles are used because you can assign two different levels of access to files, read-only and read/write.
Recommended for networks Windows is to assign rights to a group rather than an individual user. This way you can give any number of users the same rights by placing them in a particular group. Not quite relevant in a homegroup but in a domain where users come and go, change roles etc. it makes it easy to manage. So, we have two groups and two users to place in these groups. You can see the mechanism in action by looking at security settings for one of the shared folders.
In a workgroup environment basis with say 5 PCs with each having their own main user who is 5 user accounts. For all users to access files on other computers of their own this means that not only the user account must exist on their own PC, but it must be created on all other PCs. This includes management so if a user changes his password on his PC then it must go around each of the other PC and change the password on those, otherwise he will be denied access.
HomeGroup avoids this by creating an additional user that exists on all PCs and has the same password in all of the group because it is defined in the configuration of the homegroup. Although the primary user on a PC is refused by another PC, it will accept the credentials of the user to the homegroup. Which of the two is accepted depends on the required access.
Thus, although the mechanism seems a bit complicated (and there is more than that) there is a logic to it.

Get the error code 651 when connecting to the home group
Original title: network query
I am trying to connect PC (Win7 Ultimate with all the updates and I have installed Sp1) to a homegroup that my surface pro4 (Win10) opened. I get error 651 and I can not now clear homegroup even by using the Troubleshoot utility. Help, please
Hello Kurt.
Thanks for posting that ask you about Microsoft Community.
According to the description, you found the 651 error when you plug the system windows 7 on a home group.
First of all, make sure that:
- Both systems must have a unique name.
- Both systems need to have the same time and date.
- Some antivirus/security programs may block or cause network problems.
As you already ran her convenience store. I suggest to follow the methods below and check if that helps.
Method 1: Temporarily disable security software
Temporarily disable the security software and check if the problem persists.
WARNING: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
If the problem persists, try Method 2,
Method 2: Disable IPv6 for your connection
You can do it by the separation of the adapter in the local area network connection properties dialog box:
- Click Startand then click Control Panel.
- Click network and sharing Center.
- In the box to view your active networks , click Local area connectionand then click Properties.
- Networking tab, clear the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) check box, and then click OK.

I want to add a printer that is already installed on my computer for the home group network. Because it is already installed, it does not appear when the computer search possible printers to be added. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall - our relationship is much fragile. Help, please.
Hello
See if this helps you:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/install-printer-home-network#1TC=Windows-7
Setting up a shared printer"The most common way to make a printer available to a home network is traditionally to connect to one of the computers and then tell Windows to share it. This is called a shared printer.
The advantage of sharing a printer is that it works with any USB printer. Side tilted? The host computer must always be fed up, otherwise the rest of the network will not be able to access the shared printer. »
