JTA-data-source not RESOURCE_LOCAL-type of transaction and UserTransaction

Hi all

I'm curious of my way through an application that I help maintain. Some of the details of the implementation of puzzled me, and I could use a validation test. We use Toplink Essentials.

For starters, the persistence.xml - the one and only - specifies a transaction type of RESOURCE_LOCAL. In addition, we have a non - JTA data source.

My understanding is that because what precedes, we get an EntityManager via an EntityManagerFactory, there is a 1:1 correspondence between any given EntityManager and a persistence context (so we would better not more than one EM at a given time, or be very careful as to how we deal with several living at the same time) , and that we are required to use the EntityTransaction API to the demarcation of the transaction limits.

Here's the thing: the app also has a semblance of a "long running operation. It is bounded in the code, through the use of JTA - raising a UserTransaction with JNDI and using begin(), commit() and rollback() on it as required.

I might also add that from a functional point of view the application works obviously.

My question is this: regardless of how the application has achieved its goal, that the JTA UserTransaction does exactly? I can almost see that he does nothing at all.

Thank you
Arved

Correct, resouce_local means no JTA.

  • search form Web apps: how to retrieve the value of the data-source type field

    Hello

    My question is:

How can I retrieve the value of the source field of a web - app data-types when you insert the "form web search apps" on a web page.

I have a web application that contains fields from the data source of the type. These fields to recover the (data) value of the 'web app' - 'elements of the field' field of another web application.

    When I insert the form

    Web apps

    Web apps-search form

    Name of the Web application

It displays the fields with the field (ie. string, number) types other than type of field 'data source '.

(Note: in the mode 'model of list' module of data tags, the fields of the data source are visible).

What other (alternative) possibilities are there to create a search form?

    Thanks for your help.

    Kind regards

    Carla

By chance, I came up with this workaround. Of course there are other methods to get your data from a web - app, but if you want to use the 'Web apps search form', it would be a workaround.

I noticed that the "Web apps entry form" contains all the fields of web applications for your web application (including the fields of the data source).

It is possible to add the fields to the form of the "Web apps entry form" in the «Web apps search form»

If you insert the "Web apps entry form" on a blank page, you will see all the fields in your web App including the "data source fields. The names of form fields contain something like.

  • Allow the application to start with one or multiple data sources, failing to connect?

I have a Spring application that connects to several databases at the start, through JEE definitions referenced via JNDI datasource. Some of these databases sometimes go offline for various reasons. If the application is running at the time, it is not really dangerous, because of the way the application is designed. However, if I try to start the server if the database is offline, the application fails to deploy. Is it possible I can configure data sources not to block the deployment of the application if the database is offline or the application?

Hello. You can ensure that your datasources WebLogic deployment, even if the DBMS (es)
be down in time, specifying the initial capacity of each source of data/pool equal to zero.

  • A question for shared in 2 data source model of the application of the project in JDEV11

    Hi all
My application has the following structure:

    ...
    | _Model_A
    | ...
    | | _Application-module-1
    | | _Application-module-2
    |
    | _ViewController_A
    | ...
    |
    | _Model_B
    | ...
    | | _Application-module-1
    | | _Application-module-3
    |
    | _ViewController_B
    ...

As you can see, there are 2 projects of model and they share an Application Module: Application-Module-1

I created 3 branches: APPDS_1, APPDS_2, APPDS_3. When you set up these 3 AMs in the model project, then select "JDBC URL" as the type of connection, both applications can work properly, say, source of data/JNDI are correctly at the launch of the JDEV 11 apps. Then, when select 'JDBC Data Source' as connection type, that is to say, use it as the source of data for Application-Module-1, both Model_A and Model_B: java: comp/env/jdbc/APPDS_1, app B throws an error:

oracle.jbo.DMLException: Houston-27200: failure JNDI. Impossible to research data Source in the context...

    but app has still works.

play with the value of data source in the Model_B for Application-Module-1, it is that set the JDBC data source "* jdbc / APPDS_1 *" make a app B! But, as far as I know, the correct value for 'JDBC Data Source' in 11g should be: java: comp/env/jdbc/APPDS_1.

This really disturbs me. Why would this happen? Is it because that the Model_B use the same name that Model_A, IE. Application-Module-1?

Just tried to rename it to Model_B so request-Module-1 becomes application-Module-4, still got the same error.

    Thank you

You say you deleted the user and the tablespace before removing the application.
If so you probably have to manually remove the application, an example is available here:- cannot remove the application planning 9.3

You want to run the B2BCommerce module? If so, then you must run the $dynamo_home /... / B2BCommerce/SQL/db_components/MySQL/b2b_user_ddl. SQL ddl because you are missing the B2BCommerce tables. If this isn't the case, you will have to redo without the B2BCommerce module.

    Thank you

  • Application module runs does not after changing the jndi in the JDBC data source name

I had an obligation to deploy ADF application dev, test, and production. Every environments to different databases.

To reach the requirement above, we had suite
    (a) uncheck "Auto Generate and descriptors weblogic - jdbc.xml sync for the deployment" of the Application property.
    (b) defined a data source to wls console (console different wls for each env) to dev, test, and production with jndi, jdbc/dashboardDS.
    (c) on the module of the application, the connection type changed to "JDBC Data Source" and filled in "jdbc/dashboardDS" to the name of the data source.

Now, we are able to deploy our ADF application for dev, test, and production environments.

But, after doing some changes to the bc4j.xcfg file as in step c), I'm not able to run AM. AM is running in an error message.

  • [Microsoft] [ODBC driver manager] Data Source name not found and no driver by default specified

    Hi team,

I am trying to connect to the Oracle 9i database using VB code below:

    strConnection = "Driver = {Microsoft ODBC for Oracle};" Server = SERVERNAME; UID = username; Pwd = PASSWORD"
    Connect = New ADODB. Connection
    Connect.Open (strConnection)

The last line throws me below error:

[Microsoft] [ODBC driver manager] Data Source name not found and no driver by default specified

The VB code works well and able to connect to database server dev dev. The same script with the name of the UAT server does not work on server UAT.

The servers are Windows server 2007-32 bit.

When I checked the tab drivers in ODBC Data Source Administrator, dev server entry below:

    Microsoft ODBC for Oracle - 6.00.6001.18000 - Microsoft Corporation - MSORCL32.dll - Date

Considering that the UAT server has entered below:

    Microsoft ODBC for Oracle-

The Microsoft ODBC driver for oracle is listed in the tab UAT Server drivers, but did not have details of file version & dll. This driver is not installed correctly? If so, how the re install? Please help solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Kind regards

    Tamil
